I am not a Yandere chapter 15

* * *

Beep beep beep. Beep beep beep.

A loud alarm rang in Yeongdeok’s ears, and the bright sunlight pierced through his eyelids.

Without any fuss, Yeongdeok quietly woke up from his sleep.

Another new day had begun.

Yeongdeok went to the parking lot and climbed into a white truck he had bought with the money from selling his previous car.

After bringing back groceries in the truck, he returned home and started searching for novels with the keyword “obsessive top.”

Before he knew it, reading BL novels had become one of Yeongdeok’s hobbies.

After reading so much, he became picky about which novels were good.

While searching the internet, he came across an online cafe related to a BL novel called ‘Beautiful Life’. Yeongdeok clicked on the cafe’s link.

The cafe members were sharing information about BL novels.

“I didn’t know there were places like this.”

Thinking it would help him choose a novel, Yeongdeok joined the cafe and started reading each post.

[Cafe Bulletin Board]

[Rose: Has anyone read the novel ‘Choose Me’? The top character is so subtly crazy, haha. Even the side top character is charming. It’s fun, so give it a try!]

[Rose: ‘Our Rendezvous’ had an unappealing bottom character, and the ending, in my opinion, was so-so? But if you like a tragic bottom character, you might enjoy it!]

[Rose: ‘The Flower Blooming on the Cliff’ is on sale! Don’t forget to buy it cheap if you were planning to read it!]

ㄴ Thank you!

ㄴ Thanks, Rose! 222222

ㄴ I almost forgot! Rose, you saved a poor soul, ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The cafe’s leader, a person named Rose, was posting more than five times a day.

Yeongdeok, while reading Rose’s posts, left a comment.

ㄴ Yeongdeok Chicken: Thank you.

By the time he finished leaving a comment, it was already 2 o’clock.

Thinking he should have lunch before going to work, Yeongdeok got up.

While in the kitchen, contemplating what to eat, he noticed something large and black crawling on the floral wallpaper.

Thinking he was seeing things, Yeongdeok squinted his eyes.

The large, black creature came down from the wall and was now crawling on the floor.

Its long antennae wriggled. How many legs did it have?

Yeongdeok stared at it for a moment, then quietly closed the front door and left his house.

“Is that… a cockroach?”

He had heard of such a horrid creature but had never actually seen one.

Pondering how to deal with the intruder occupying his house, Yeongdeok thought he had never seen an obsessive top character fighting a cockroach and reopened the front door.

Approaching the cockroach, which was boldly strutting across the living room with its slender, tiny legs, Yeongdeok tried to catch it.

However, when the cockroach spread its wings and took off into the air, he quickly closed the door and left the house again.

“…Should I move out?”

He thought he’d lived long enough in such a shabby place.

Missing his secretary, Wonjin out of nowhere, Yeongdeok searched his contacts but realized that he had lost Wonjin’s number when he changed his phone along with his number.

He glanced sideways at his neighbor’s house.

Seo Jihoon—could that pathetic guy really catch a cockroach?

He wasn’t very reliable, but thinking it was worth mentioning, Yeongdeok knocked on his neighbor’s door.

As usual, Jihoon never opened the door right away. Only after Yeongdeok knocked furiously and rang the doorbell did Jihoon finally open the door, irritated.

“Ah, get lost, get lost. I’m busy as hell. What do you want?”

“Something big happened.”

Seeing Yeongdeok’s serious face, completely devoid of a smile, Jihoon swallowed dryly.

“What is it? Did your house catch fire?”

“By my standards, it’s even worse than a fire.”

“What happened? A murder? Are the police here?”

“Come and see.”

As Yeongdeok gestured, Jihoon, tense, followed him.

Something worse than a fire?

What on earth could it be?

All sorts of dangerous thoughts flashed through Jihoon’s mind.

Yeongdeok led Jihoon to the front door and pointed at the large cockroach clinging to the kitchen wall.

The cockroach, seemingly welcoming Jihoon’s arrival, fluttered its wings energetically.

Jihoon’s face twisted with disgust.

“As you can see, it’s a disaster.”

“You deal with it. Why are you showing it to me?”

“I can’t do it.”

“So what? It’s none of my business.”

Jihoon silently regretted coming out, feeling like an idiot for believing Cha Yeongdeok, the lunatic.

Realizing it wasn’t a big deal, he was about to head back to his place, but seeing Yeongdeok just folding his arms and doing nothing to catch the cockroach, he sighed and, annoyed, took off his shoes.

“Jeez, the pampered little lord can’t even handle a bug?”

“Can you catch it?”

“Of course. What do you take me for?”

In high school, Jihoon was known as the bug killer.

Moths, bees, and various other insects that flew into the classroom—he had dealt with them all.

Entering Yeongdeok’s house, Jihoon cautiously approached the cockroach, waiting for it to settle on the wall before smacking it bare-handed.

With a resounding slap, the cockroach’s corpse fell to the floor, but Jihoon nonchalantly picked it up with his hand.

“Ugh. My hand’s ruined.”

Grimacing in disgust, Jihoon disposed of the cockroach’s body as well.

Yeongdeok listened to the sound of the toilet flushing and felt a strange sensation, as if a heavy weight was being lifted from his chest.

Why am I feeling like this?

Yeongdeok couldn’t understand his own emotions, but he thought this moment was more impressive than any scene he had ever read in a novel.

“Even a grub has a knack for rolling around. Looks like you’ve got some talent too.”

“Screw you. Don’t ever come looking for me again.”

As Jihoon waved his hand dismissively, signaling that he was about to leave, Yeongdeok’s brows furrowed.

“Hey, did you wash your hands after catching that bug?”

“I just wiped them with a tissue.”

“That’s disgusting.”

“You’re so picky after I went out of my way to catch a cockroach for you. I’ve got a lot on my plate already.”

Jihoon grumbled about Yeongdeok’s complaints but went back to the bathroom to wash his hands thoroughly.

When Jihoon opened the front door and stepped out into the hallway, Yeongdeok followed him.

“What? Why are you following me?”

“You said you’ve been busy. What’s going on?”

“Why do you care? Geez, you’re annoying.”

Jihoon went back inside and slammed the door shut.
Yeongdeok stared blankly at the closed door for a moment, then returned to his own apartment.

With the cockroach now gone, Yeongdeok decided to make a light sandwich for lunch.

As he cut it into bite-sized pieces and ate with a fork, he thought of Jihoon, who had been so worked up.

I wonder if he even had lunch.

He used to think Jihoon was a completely hopeless guy.

But after what he saw today, Yeongdeok found himself warming up to him a little.

He decided he should at least treat Jihoon to lunch to show his appreciation.

Putting the remaining sandwich into a clear container, Yeongdeok rang Jihoon’s doorbell.

Once wasn’t enough to get the door to open.

After ringing it several more times, Jihoon finally opened the door, shuddering with irritation.

“Jesus Christ… I told you I’m busy. Why don’t you just break the damn doorbell?”

“May I come in?”

“Who the hell do you think you are, coming into my place? Just get lost already!”

As usual, Jihoon was full of irritation and tried to push Yeongdeok away, but Yeongdeok stepped into Jihoon’s apartment undeterred.

“It’s not like the house is going to wear out from me stepping inside. Don’t be so stingy.”

“It does wear out. Especially when you step inside.”

“I brought a sandwich for you.”

“Fuck, I don’t need…!”

Just as Jihoon started to shout angrily, his stomach let out a loud growl.

It was so loud that Yeongdeok couldn’t pretend not to hear it.
