I am not a Yandere chapter 75

* * *

Jihoon splashed cold water on his face repeatedly in the bathroom, trying to cool himself down.

‘Why do I keep acting like this around Cha Yeongdeok…?’

He turned off the faucet, letting out a sigh of frustration.

Just then, as he ruffled his hair irritably, Haemin entered the bathroom after him.

Jihoon saw Haemin’s reflection in the mirror and asked coldly.

“What do you want?”

Haemin didn’t answer immediately, simply giving a faint smile with his delicate face.

When Jihoon turned to face him, demanding an answer again, Haemin finally spoke.

“Seo Jihoon, did you know?”

“Know what?”

“I had my eye on Dahee first, before you.”

“What?”

“And Juhye too, I was interested in her before you were.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

Jihoon’s face darkened at Haemin’s attitude, which seemed to provoke a fight no matter how you looked at it.

Jihoon had tried to be as reserved as possible in front of Yeongdeok, not wanting to interfere with how Yeongdeok would evaluate Park Haemin.

But if he were to be honest, Jihoon found Haemin unpleasant—so much so that he didn’t even want to talk to him.

“They were clearly interested in me, but as soon as I confessed, they suddenly said they liked you. Damn it. What did you do to win them over?”

Haemin, who initially asked for tips, now let out a twisted, sneering laugh as if his mood had soured.

“Whatever. They probably just used you as a shield because they couldn’t find a good reason to turn me down.”

“There you go again, acting all high and mighty. Let’s be honest here. After putting on that coy act, how many juniors have you slept with?”

‘Oh, not just juniors?
Should I include seniors and peers too?’

Haemin’s mocking tone made Jihoon fold his arms, unwilling to respond.

“So, you’re trying to hit on Cha Yeongdeok now, right?”

“What?”

“I get it. With that face, even if he’s a guy, you’d want to have a taste. But seeing how desperate you are because you can’t get him…”

You’d want to make the first move no matter what… A manic glint sparkled in Haemin’s eyes.

“I mean, I usually prefer guys who are small and cute, but he’s got me curious.”

“…….”

“I wonder what kind of face he’d make if I pushed him to the edge.”

Jihoon’s expression turned icy blue as he listened to Haemin’s nonsense, letting it go in one ear and out the other.

Even with Jihoon’s menacing look, Haemin kept talking, oblivious to the danger.

“He’s a tough one to deal with, but there’s always a way.”

“…….”

“Curious about what way? If you’re curious….”

Feigning camaraderie, Haemin draped an arm around Jihoon’s shoulder and whispered softly into his ear.

“I’ll let you know eventually, so back off and stop getting in my way.”

After giving Jihoon’s shoulder a couple of light taps as if to emphasize his point, Haemin casually walked out of the bathroom.

Watching him leave, Jihoon’s clenched teeth let out a grinding noise.

His jaw was clenched so tightly that it seemed he could crack his molars, his eyes ablaze with fury as his hand curled into a fist.

While Jihoon and Haemin were away, bickering, Yeongdeok was focused on his game, almost wiping out the zombies on the screen.

“Wow! He’s really good!”

A kid sucking on a lollipop watched in amazement, and soon, a group of other children gathered around, all watching Yeongdeok play with awe.

Despite the pressure from all the eyes on him, Yeongdeok kept his composure and stayed focused on the game.

He was almost at the ending when an unfamiliar woman, looking anxious, approached him.

“Excuse me….”

Even at her cautious voice, Yeongdeok didn’t take his eyes off the screen.

It wasn’t until she called him again that he finally responded, sounding annoyed.

“What is it?”

“You came with those two tall men earlier, right? I think you should come over. It seems like there’s a problem.”

Tall men?

She must be talking about Seo Jihoon and Park Haemin.

The moment Yeongdeok turned his attention to the woman, a zombie grabbed his arm in the game.

“Ah! I’m infected!”

“I thought he was going to make it to the end!”

The kids watching Yeongdeok’s gameplay groaned in disappointment, as if it were happening to them.

Yeongdeok, feeling his game had been interrupted for no good reason, gave the woman a skeptical look.

When Yeongdeok followed her to the scene, he was met with a pitiful sight: Jihoon and Haemin in a brawl, with onlookers standing around, merely gossiping in excitement.

‘Can’t I just ignore this like I don’t know them?’

Yeongdeok considered his options for about ten seconds before finally pushing his way through the crowd.

“What are you doing?”

Jihoon, who had been throwing punches like someone who’d lost all reason, stopped in his tracks at the cold voice.

Jihoon’s head slowly lifted toward Yeongdeok, and when he met those pitch-black eyes, he felt a tinge of fear about how Yeongdeok might perceive him.

It seemed like at any moment, Yeongdeok’s expressionless face would spit out something equally dry and condescending, like calling him pathetic.

Taking advantage of Jihoon’s moment of hesitation, Haemin stumbled and rushed over to Yeongdeok, his tone annoyingly pitiful.

“Yeongdeok hyung, he attacked me out of nowhere.”

“That’s because you…!”

Jihoon bit down on his bleeding lip.

He knew that Yeongdeok, that cold-hearted guy, was always detached, and that he would take revenge tenfold if anyone dared insult him.

Still, he couldn’t bring himself to speak, afraid his pride would be crushed by whatever Park Haemin had said.

Yeongdeok’s calm yet unwavering gaze shifted to Haemin.

Sensing an opportunity, Haemin quickly clung to Yeongdeok’s arm, looking up at him with a pathetic expression.

Jihoon’s heart pounded at the sight. His emotions seemed to be reacting too sensitively, like someone was jabbing his skin with a blunt brush.

“Hyung, don’t hang around with scum like that. He’s really scary.”

Yeongdeok didn’t respond.

He didn’t push Haemin away or tell him to back off.

He just stood there quietly, and that silence unsettled Jihoon.

‘Why are you just standing there? If you were the Yeongdeok I know, you’d have said something by now.’

At that moment, the doubt Jihoon had been harboring grew like a balloon, swelling with each breath.

Maybe to Cha Yeongdeok, he really was nothing—nothing that could be swayed by a single word from Park Haemin.

The second Jihoon came to that conclusion, something inside him snapped, as if a fuse had blown in his already tangled emotions.

What followed was a surge of pain, like his heart was being torn to pieces.

He felt like he was drifting in a sea of emptiness, his eyes glistening with unshed tears as he lost his sense of direction.

‘Why do I feel this way? Why does it hurt so much?’ Jihoon clutched at his chest, overwhelmed by the ache.

As Jihoon was digging himself into a hole of despair, Yeongdeok, who had been silently observing, finally made up his mind and spoke.

“I don’t recall asking you to explain anything.”

With a flick of his wrist, Yeongdeok shrugged Haemin off and turned to Jihoon, demanding an explanation.

“What’s going on, Seo Jihoon?”

His eyes bore into Jihoon with a straightforward intensity, and oddly, Jihoon felt a hint of trust directed at him.

“Fighting at your age, how ridiculous.”

Yeongdeok’s face scrunched slightly, holding back a sigh, maintaining his usual calm and collected demeanor.

“But I doubt you did it for no reason. What happened?”

Jihoon’s slightly parted lips trembled, as a hot, stinging sensation spread through his throat, rendering him speechless.
