Dying like in the Original, that’s what the Omega Villain wants chapter 4

* * *

“No, no. There’s no point regretting it now. What’s done is done, and I’ll only make myself feel worse.”

Having already processed all the shock he could handle, Remy decided to accept and adapt to his situation as quickly as possible.

Since he had transmigrated into this world, his top priority now was to escape before things got even worse.

In other words, instead of sitting around lamenting, he needed to start working on a proper escape plan.

“Young Master, we’ve arrived.”

It seemed they’d reached their destination.

“Oh, yes.”

Speaking informally to someone older than himself felt awkward to Remy, but he forced himself to respond as the attendant opened the carriage door for him.

He stepped down and was immediately greeted by the head servant.

“Welcome back, Young Master.”

Returning the greeting with a stiff nod, Remy awkwardly lifted his head to take in the view before him.

A sight he’d never encountered in his life spread out before his eyes.

“…!”

Remi’s eyes widened to their limit at the sight of the unbelievably grandiose mansion.

He had read descriptions of a sprawling estate with over fifty rooms and a garden complete with a lake, but he had never imagined the scale would be this overwhelming.

“This… this is my house?”

The head servant tilted his head, puzzled at the strange remark.

Realizing he might appear unhinged, Remy cleared his throat with a forced cough.

While his behavior might seem odd, he resolved to at least look as confident as possible as he entered the mansion.

But the confidence lasted less than a minute.

Once inside, Remy couldn’t stop himself from gawking like a country bumpkin visiting the city for the first time, his head turning this way and that as he marveled at his surroundings.

He had once dreamed of taking a backpacking trip to Europe after his military service, but there was no need for that now.

This was Europe, a living historical landmark in its own right.

“Am I really just going to live here, doing nothing but eating and lounging around? This is amazing!”

The head servant cast another curious glance at Remy, but the young master paid no mind, too busy being thrilled at the luxurious life that awaited him in the mansion.

“Is this all marble? It’s stunning!”

The polished stairs, entirely made of marble, shone brilliantly, and Remy couldn’t stop himself from admiring every detail.

However, his awe was interrupted by a sudden growling from his stomach.

“Excuse me!”

He tried to sound assertive, but the words came out awkwardly polite.

“Yes, Young Master. What is it?”

“I’m hungry. Could I have something to eat?”

“I will have a meal prepared. Please rest upstairs in the meantime.”

“Sounds good!”

Eagerly placing his foot on the first step, Remy began climbing the stairs when something suddenly struck him.

“Wait!”

He spun around, calling out to the head servant who had already started walking away.

The man turned back, maintaining his poised demeanor.

“What is it, Young Master?”

Looking embarrassed, Remy hesitated before asking, “Um… Where’s my room?”

The head servant, who had been working in this house for over 30 years and had seen the young master since he was a baby, appeared momentarily at a loss for how to respond.

Then, as if remembering something important, his expression softened in understanding.

Ah, yes. The royal message had mentioned it—Young Master had recently manifested as an omega.

Twice fainting from shock, no less. He must still be recovering, so it was best to be accommodating.

“I’ll guide you.”

“How considerate of you.”

Following the head servant’s lead, Remy trailed along obediently.

Upon reaching his room, the head servant courteously opened the door for him.

Remy thanked him and stepped inside, taking in the room with wide eyes.

True to the mansion’s grandeur, the room was just as impressive.

Throwing himself onto the meticulously clean bed, he sank into the luxurious bedding, feeling as if he were wrapped in a cloud.

“This is the life…”

Humming a tune, Remy quickly forgot his earlier despair, basking in the bliss of his newfound comfort.

“No studying, no classes…”

No part-time jobs, no nagging from his mom.

But at the thought of “mom,” Remy suddenly sniffled, his heart tightening.

The word alone was enough to make him tear up.

“I miss Mom… so much.”

He paused, caught in a dilemma. S

hould he give up this wealthy and comfortable life to return to his old world?

But no matter how abundant this life was, nothing could replace his mom.

She was absolute, irreplaceable, whether in this world or the other.

“What’s the point of all this if Mom’s not here?”

Despite thinking earlier how great it was not to hear her nagging, Remy had already changed his mind.

He sat up and glanced around. In the corner of the room, he noticed a desk with a quill pen.

“All right. I need to go back. I need to pull myself together and figure out how to return to my real life.”

Even if this mansion was a paradise, he wasn’t about to live the rest of his days as a man who could get pregnant.

No, thank you.

Nodding firmly, Remy strode over to the desk and rummaged through the drawers, pulling out what seemed to be a notebook.

Sitting down, he began jotting down everything he remembered about ‘The Scent of an Alpha’.

First, the plot.

‘The Scent of an Alpha’ was set in an omegaverse—a world-building concept popular among BL fans that Remy had only recently learned about.

He’d mistakenly thought the author had invented the concept.

In the story, a beautiful omega named Allen, the only son of a prestigious count’s family, was loved by three alphas.

Jealous of Allen, a beta named Remy schemed to ruin Allen’s family by exposing their business corruption, all in an attempt to win the alphas’ favor.

Allen confronted Remy during a grand ball at the royal palace, and their altercation ended in tragedy: a gunshot rang out, and Remy was killed on the spot.

One of the alphas, overhearing their argument, had shot him.

That was as far as the serialized chapters had gone.

The ending was still unknown, and it hadn’t been revealed which alpha had pulled the trigger.

“Oh, right. We don’t even know who shot him yet.”

Remi clicked his tongue in disappointment but quickly refocused.

The priority now was figuring out how to escape this world and return home.

“Isn’t there some sort of clue here? A note about how to leave or something?”

He searched high and low, opening drawers, checking his clothes, lifting the pillow, and even shaking out the curtains.

But there was no note, no clue, not even a speck of dust.

The secret to returning to his original world was nowhere to be found.

“This is ridiculous. How am I supposed to escape? Don’t they know beginners need guidance?”

Then, a thought struck him.

“Wait… wasn’t the topic back then about escape methods for transmigrators?”

At that time, what did the other club members say again?

Ah, right—they said the most common way for someone who’s possessed an antagonist to escape is to die in the story, just like in the original plot.

“Ah…! Right! Death!”

‘That’s exactly what they said. If I die, I can escape from the novel.’

If that was the case, it was simple.

‘All I had to do was tie a rope to a high place and hang myself.’

Remy decided to act on it immediately.

Conveniently, there was a beam near the ceiling that seemed perfect for tying a rope.

No rope? No problem.

The curtain cord would do just fine.

“This should be enough.”

With that settled, Remy pulled a chair over and climbed onto it, convinced this would send him straight back to the real world.

“……”

Uh-oh.

There was something he had overlooked.

“Damn it… This is terrifying.”

Taking his own life—it wasn’t as easy as it sounded.

For someone as timid and hopelessly scared of everything as Remy, mustering up the courage was downright impossible.

Honestly, even for someone more confident, it wasn’t a task one could simply carry out.

“This… this is impossible. I need to come up with another way.”

Quick to give up, Remy sat back down on the chair instead and started brainstorming again.

And then, suddenly, an idea struck him like a lightning bolt.

“Wait a second—I don’t have to kill myself, right? In the story, I get shot anyway! All I have to do is piss off those three Alphas and let one of them shoot me!”

Having found his breakthrough, Remy shot to his feet.

Yes! That was it!

He didn’t have to go to the trouble of ending his own life.

When you’re cornered, sometimes genius strikes.

With renewed determination, Remy clenched his fists and looked at the red sun outside the window.

He vowed to thoroughly earn the hatred of all three Alphas and ensure that at least one of them shot him!
