Became a Cult Leader Even Though I’m an S-Class Guide chapter 3

A human brain was very delicate and sensitive.

The process of directly handling and breaking it was one of the few parts where Yoon Seoho felt a little less bored.

Though even that was becoming tiresome now.

He barely managed to push down the rising impulse.

This business had certainly turned incredibly boring, but if he got rid of even this, he might start overusing his power.

No matter how much of a thrill-seeker he was, Yoon Seoho did not want to die a miserable death from a rampage.

The more an Esper used their power, the more an impurity-like energy built up inside their body.

The number changed depending on the amount of that energy.

Espers called that the rampage level.

Unfortunately, there was no way to completely calm the side effects of using the power.

It wasn’t that the superhumans hadn’t tried.

Rather, they conducted endless experiments to find any way to survive, but they failed.

It seemed a method to completely eliminate the side effects simply did not exist in this world.

However, there was one way to ease it, even if just a little bit.

Rarely, a very small and transparent gemstone called ‘Haeseo’ would come out of the gates.

If that gemstone was processed into powder and a small amount was consumed, the rampage level would drop slightly.

Even if it was just a small amount.

Yet even that was not easy to get unless you had a mountain of money.

The number of Espers kept growing, but the gemstone didn’t appear very often.

It was truly the worst possible situation for superhumans.

At this rate, the destruction of the world was not far off.

The only countermeasure capable of facing the monsters from the gates was the Espers, but even those entities were ticking time bombs that could go off at any moment, weren’t they?

‘If it ruins itself, let it.’

Yoon Seoho turned his body with a bored thought.

Even as Yoon Seoho left his seat, the followers continued to praise him like insane people.

Once the shouts of the believers faded away, he wiped off the mask-like expression he had been wearing.

“I’m so fucking bored I can’t stand it.”

He was thinking about quitting this act of playing a faithful and gentle cult leader.

Yoon Seoho stripped off the religious robes he was wearing and changed into casual clothes.

With that, his appearance transformed from a savior-like cult leader into a wealthy, rebellious young master.

He habitually checked the watch he was wearing hidden inside his sleeve.

Since he wasn’t officially registered as an Esper, he couldn’t receive the level-measuring device provided by the government.

So, this watch was a consumer-grade measuring device made on the black market.

「Measured Level: 61%」

Yoon Seoho checked the number displayed on the watch screen and twisted his lips.

To think that the result of pouring money into consuming gemstones was only this much.

From birth, he had felt nothing but boredom and had no interest in the world.

Because his family was so rich, he grew up without lacking anything and had never felt the sensation of things being unfair.

But even he felt that this situation was unreasonable.

The fact that he had to crawl around trying to survive after awakening as a fucking superhuman was just so ridiculous to him.

Did I even ask for this kind of power?

The corner of Yoon Seoho’s mouth went up crookedly.

Going outside, he got into his car.

He drove out of the alley in a black sedan that was far from his usual taste.

The sun was bright, but it didn’t matter because the tinting was dark.

Yoon Seoho drove while looking straight ahead with a blank face.

As the weather was getting hotter, the air conditioner inside the car was turned on so high that it was beyond cool and felt freezing cold like ice.

The religion Yoon Seoho established was located in a city with very poor public security.

On the surface, the main headquarters was hidden underground beneath a church building that looked no different from a crumbling, abandoned house.

It was a completely intentional move.

It was partly to avoid the government’s eyes, and it was a perfect place to play around without being disturbed in many ways.

And it was only the building on the surface that was old; the underground headquarters was decorated very nicely and cleanly.

It gave off the grand atmosphere of a cathedral that felt like a substantial amount of money had been poured into it.

Preparing everything perfectly before starting, even for a game like playing with fire, was Yoon Seoho’s style.

It had been about two years since he founded ‘Exalted.’

He didn’t set it up right after awakening as an Esper; it was a religion he created after going through a certain amount of preparation.

Deluding people wasn’t difficult.

It wasn’t just because of Yoon Seoho’s power, but because the current background of the world was like that.

The world was chaotic enough that people desperately wanted to find even an absurd entity like a god.

Because of gates that could burst open anytime and anywhere, countless people lost their lives overnight.

It was truly beyond a disaster.

It wasn’t just a natural disaster; the Earth was on the verge of ruin due to non-human creatures.

So they had no choice but to wander around searching for a god.

‘God, please save us.’

In common churches, people searched for the one they served even more blindly, and it was the same for other religions.

Yoon Seoho dug into that gap. He pushed his way into the gap where humans were at their weakest and took his place.

‘Exalted’ was a new religion, but word of mouth spread quietly and quickly.

Low-rank superhumans especially sought out the religion after hearing rumors.

Yoon Seoho’s hypnosis ability allowed them to temporarily stop feeling the physical pain that was a side effect of being a superhuman.

It was nothing more than a lie that tricked the brain, but to the superhumans, that alone made them feel saved.

“In the end, it’s just trash struggling to survive anyway.”

Yoon Seoho muttered with a bored face.

As he did, he thoughtlessly rolled down the window.

A wave of hot air rushed inside.

“Fuck, it’s so hot.”

It was right when Yoon Seoho, regretting his impulsive action, was about to roll the window back up.

A strange sensation pierced through his skin like a needle.

Halting, Yoon Seoho looked down at his fingers at the thrilling sensation he had just felt.

The tips of his fingers were trembling faintly as if twitching.

It wasn’t because his body was broken, but because a shiver ran through him from a sensation he had never experienced before in his life.

‘…What was that just now?’

He had merely opened the window, so where did this feeling come from?

Yoon Seoho’s eyes moved busily.

Since he hadn’t left the run-down neighborhood yet, the surroundings here and there were bleak.

There were many vagrants around here and people dying of illnesses, so it was a natural sight.

Yoon Seoho backed up, parked the car, and got out.

He had definitely felt that thrilling sensation when he passed by this specific area.

Where on earth was it?

He even felt a sense of urgency that was completely unlike him.

Had he ever felt this rushed before?

Yoon Seoho thought his own behavior was ridiculous, but he was completely occupied with searching for the ‘something’ that caused it.

A voice kept whispering inside his head.

Telling him to find it no matter what.

Telling him he must find it, take it into his hands, do whatever it takes to get it, and ultimately possess all of it.

“Fuck, where is it. Where are you.”

Anxious, Yoon Seoho bit his lip and looked around like a madman.

The alley he was standing in right now was unsanitary and even the smell was unpleasant.

Normally, Yoon Seoho would have been disgusted, but he didn’t even have the room to care about that now.

He just wanted to quickly taste the sensation he felt earlier again.

What on earth was this feeling?

The sensation he had never felt once since birth could not even be defined.

What was this thing that was shaking his very foundation…

Shaking his head wildly, Yoon Seoho’s wrist suddenly caught his eye.

The measured level on the watch screen he happened to look down at clearly filled his vision.

「Measured Level: 34%」

“What is this…”

Yoon Seoho inhaled without realizing it.

His rampage level, which was clearly at 61% before leaving the building, had decreased by this much?

In that short amount of time?

A confused question pierced sharply into his mind.

“…It must be broken. Otherwise, fuck.”

Even as Yoon Seoho spat out curses, he closely checked the condition of his body.

He hadn’t realized it earlier, but the inside of his body was definitely stabilized to a degree that couldn’t be compared to before.

The headache that occasionally pierced his head was gone, and his aching heart area was completely fine now.

Why had he only noticed it just now?

Yoon Seoho felt his breathing gradually grow faster.

It wasn’t because the rampage level was rising again, but because of a rushing sense of excitement.

The thought that the device might be broken didn’t even cross his mind.

He was feeling it directly with his body like this, so there was no way it was broken. He wasn’t an idiot.

“Where the hell are you, huh? Where are you!”
