10 rules of a Secretary chapter 47

* * *

“Before that, wouldn’t my body break down first, Ms. Yoon Sanghye…”

I was watching her with eyes full of unspoken words, about to suggest we leave. But Ms. Yoon spoke up just a bit faster.

“If it’s alright, could I stay until the end of the wedding? I need to curse that bastard till the very last moment to feel satisfied. That jerk, I mean… ugh, that despicable… huff… that guy.”

I casually agreed, and while watching Ms. Yoon’s bitter smile, I glanced around, thinking of how to change the subject. Soon, I spotted a cocktail bar in the middle of the hall, not too far from us.

“How about a cocktail? They’re famous here. I’ve been here a few times with the president, but I’ve never actually tried one.”

“I’ll go get them!”

Just then, I heard the voice of Ms. Yoon’s ex-boyfriend screaming behind us. “Where the hell did they go?” Judging by his words, he was looking for us.

What a pathetic guy. I quietly hid Ms. Yoon behind a pillar and thought I should thank Ms. Gayun later.

At least we didn’t get caught.

“Wait here. I’ll go get them.”

Following the bartender’s recommendation, I chose a margarita for Ms. Yoon and a sweet piña colada for myself. After all, sweet drinks are the best.

We lightly clinked our glasses and took a sip, glancing around the glamorous banquet hall.

No matter how much Ms. Yoon’s ex annoyed her, it didn’t change the fact that he was getting married in this lavish setting.

I kept clinking my glass with hers, hoping it would help her find some closure.

After a while of sipping on our drinks, I looked at my nearly empty glass with regret.

“Could you wait here for a moment? I’m going to order another drink. Do you need another one, Ms. Sanghye?”

“Then I’d appreciate it if you could get me another one too!”

Apologizing briefly, I hurried to the cocktail bar and ordered two more of the same drinks.

I found myself smiling at the sight of the swaying liquid, probably because it had been a while since I last drank.

As I was sipping my drink, I heard a ‘hmm’ right behind me and turned around.

I froze in place. Like a guilty person, I tried to discreetly hide my drink, but when I heard the voice above me, I stopped my pointless effort.

There was no use; I was caught.

“If I remember correctly, Secretary Seonyul, you’re not quite yourself when you drink.”

A man, much taller than me, was looking down at me with his arms crossed. His gaze, assessing me, didn’t reveal any particular emotion.

I frantically racked my brain, wondering why he was here, but nothing came to mind. I quickly scanned my memory of the schedule, but there was nothing special.

Only then did I notice the name of the bride on the sign at the entrance of the hall.

It was the name of the youngest daughter of Daejung Chemicals. So, it made sense that Ms. Jeong Gayun and CEO Han were here as guests.

Damn, of all the weddings, it had to be this one… I should’ve listened to Ms. Gayun and left. Or at least hidden better.

Damn it. As I thought this, I glanced around and met Ms. Yoon’s eyes behind CEO Han.

I looked at her desperately, silently pleading for help, but she quickly shook her head, gesturing for me not to acknowledge her.

Wow, seriously… so there’s no one you can trust in this world.

When I glanced back at CEO Han and then turned away, Ms. Yoon had vanished.

She moved faster than the wind, disappearing in an instant.

“What business do you have here? Doesn’t seem like you’re related to Daejung Chemicals… so the groom’s side? I think I know that bastard.”

His intuition was annoyingly accurate.

Of course, I wasn’t directly involved, but… how could I say I came here to play the role of Ms. Yoon’s boyfriend?

Seeing my hesitation, CEO Han tilted his head slightly.

“And two drinks?”

I awkwardly looked at the glasses in my hands before quickly taking a sip from each to show that I’d ordered them for myself.

Despite my best efforts, the man’s expression didn’t soften, so I lightly shook one of the glasses.

“Quack.”

CEO Han’s face twisted into a bizarre expression.

Was that not it?

“Then… woof?”

The corners of his lips twitched as one of his eyebrows raised slightly. I pursed my lips, then slowly released them to speak.

“…Meow?”

“Secretary Seonyul.”

“Meow meow.”

This was a personal matter, and I wasn’t obligated to explain it.

I could, but it would only lead to more trouble.

So, feigning ignorance was the best option.

My breath kept coming in short gasps from the tension.

Standing in front of the hotel room, I wiped the sweat pooling in my palms on my pants.

Did I make it in time?

I wanted to check my phone, but I then realized I’d left with nothing but a card, no phone or watch.

I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand and took a deep breath.

My trembling fingers adjusted my clothes.

After being held up by CEO Han until the very last minute, I had to practically sprint home as soon as I escaped the wedding.

From the wedding venue to my home, and then from home to the hotel, I barely had two hours to spare.

I didn’t even have time to remove the wax from my hair and ended up rushing out in a plain sweatshirt and a change of pants.

My waxed hair was so messy it could easily be mistaken for that of a homeless person at Seoul Station.

Though I’d been told not to wear a wig, I couldn’t take any chances.

I wore a brown wig that fell to my shoulders and tried to steady my breathing.

“Phew…”

I tightly tied the blindfold in my hands to ensure it wouldn’t come loose, then hesitantly raised my arm and knocked on the door with my knuckles.

The sound of the lock being hurriedly undone reached my ears.

The door opened, and a strong arm suddenly grabbed my shoulder, pulling me inside.

There was no room for resistance.

It was a devouring kiss.

CEO Han’s tongue forced its way between my parted lips, exploring the inside of my mouth. His unusually hot tongue filled my mouth as his body pressed firmly against mine.

His large, broad hand grabbed my buttocks, squeezing and kneading them.

My body trembled as if his touch had turned it into an erogenous zone.

“Ugh… slower, just…”

I managed to stammer out the words as I pulled my lips away to catch my breath. But before I could finish, his lips were on mine again.

I reached out, trying to steady myself by grasping for something as I barely managed to perch on the edge of the table.

I heard the sound of things falling to the floor: papers, pens, and a glass.

When I started to lean back, CEO Han grabbed my waist and pulled me closer.

Our lower bodies were pressed together with no gaps.

The only part not touching was my neck, slightly twisted from the force of the kiss.

Yet, even then, his other hand continued to knead my buttocks.

“We’ve signed the contract, so you’re mine now, right?”

As he pulled back to let me catch my breath, I tried to reply, but his lips came crashing down again.

Thinking I might pass out from lack of air, I raised my hand, clawing at his shoulder until he finally released me.

“Breathe through your nose. You did fine last time. Or is it so overwhelming you can’t remember?”

The problem was that I remembered too well. I felt my face heat up as I tried to push myself away, bracing my hands on the table and using all my strength.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“Ah!”

The distance I created was closed instantly.

His hand, which had been kneading my buttocks, slowly slid upwards, teasing its way between my thighs before stopping.

He pressed down on the dip where my waist met my hips, as if threatening to enter but holding back just enough to drive me crazy.

“CEO… Han?”

I’d long since forgotten the rule of not speaking.

Realizing that if I spoke softly and in short bursts, CEO Han wouldn’t notice, I dared to whisper.

Struggling and moaning, CEO Han pushed me onto the table and then unbuckled my pants as if to tear them off. In an instant, my underwear was exposed, and I flailed my feet, unsure of what to do.

The only clothes I was wearing were socks, underwear, and a loose sweatshirt. I wanted to die of embarrassment.

“Stop with those formal titles and just call me by my name. That’s what it’s there for, but no one ever uses it.”

CEO Han, holding onto one of my feet, lifted me up and spread my legs apart. I glanced up and saw his eyes through the black lace covering them.

His gaze was fierce, like someone who had lost control. When I tried to pull away by putting some strength into my dangling foot, he pressed down on my thigh, leaning in to keep me pinned.

“Can you smell my scent now?”

When I shook my head, CEO Han lightly pressed his lips against my knee and smiled dangerously.

When he smiles like that, something always breaks. The thought sent chills down my spine, and I opened my mouth to protest, but he was quicker.

“You even broke the contract.”

He was referring to the suppressants. I only took them because I had to stay with CEO Han until five.

At the wedding, he had kept me by his side, searching around with a fiery look in his eyes.

My excuse about coming alone for cocktails didn’t seem to have worked from the start.

“Why are you lying? And why are you dressed like that? Who are you trying to impress with such a pretty outfit? I liked it, but thinking that other guys were drooling over it makes me…”

“Ah, ugh…!”
