User 21: I didn’t watch the last season, but I’m looking forward to this one.
User 52: So now we get to see this every week.
User 67: They really do look happy LOL.
User 81: Was there some controversy? Look at how Cha Joobin is literally crushing him LOL, for real.
User 103: Isn’t that something everyone does?
└ User 109: Yeah, that’s why people say it’s real, it’s just what couples do.
└ User 111: But there are still people saying they broke up…
User 125: They were live and just kissed out of nowhere.
User 126: Maybe it’s all staged LOL.
└ User 127: So, where’s the proof?
└ User 128: Spreading rumors is against the rules; follow the notice.
└ User 129: People like that always insist they’re right.
└ User 152: They must be so tired of dealing with these people, go take a walk.
└ User 224: Proof, LOL.
User 229: What happened?
└ User 230: There was a rumor they broke up because of a ghost, LOL.
└ User 253: Someone said they broke up just because they called each other attractive in an interview.
└ User 332: Wow, people have nothing better to do.
User 441: Yoochan’s cheek LOL, so cute.
User 523: These two are the real deal, so why are people acting like it’s fake? Like, who hugs and kisses like that in a staged show? Be real LOL.
└ User 535: Right, it’s real.
└ User 592: 3333.
└ User 607: You can tell by their expressions.
User 719: But they’re actors, they could just be acting. If you look at their romance scenes, they’re like this with all their co-stars.
└ User 720: Get real.
└ User 736: Keep thinking that, sis.
User 899: Why are people insisting they broke up when they literally said they didn’t? Are they that jealous of someone else’s relationship?
└ User 901: True, what’s the point?
└ User 925: Do they gain something from them breaking up?
User 998: No matter how much you complain, they said they’re happy, so just leave them alone.

The live broadcast they did while lying together in bed caused quite a stir.
The two didn’t stream often, but when they did, they always showed each other on camera.
As a result, every frame of their broadcast was captured and shared across the internet.
The most popular clip was when Joobin, who had gotten up to shower, suddenly pinned Yoochan down, squishing him.
Yoochan’s expression beneath Joobin’s smiling face was priceless.
To them, it was just another familiar moment, but the public dubbed it the “controversy-ending” clip.
At a glance, it did look that way.
Even though Yoochan was pinned down, his expression was contorted with happiness, and anyone could see from their overflowing affection that they were madly in love.
After checking the reactions when he woke up, Yoochan felt relieved that the response wasn’t bad.
He had been worried people would start picking it apart, but fortunately, the supportive comments outweighed the negative ones.
After putting his phone down, Yoochan lay back down next to the still-sleeping Joobin.
Since filming was about to start again, they had agreed to share a room once more to avoid giving the wrong impression during their time apart.
Sleeping in the same bed after a breakup didn’t feel weird.
They had spent years together, and a few weeks apart didn’t make it hard to fall back into their old routine.
However, Joobin’s complaints about having to stage everything for the broadcast were clearly bothering him.
Yoochan had responded with, “Do you want to deal with rumors?” No celebrity enjoys getting wrapped up in scandals.
That’s why they had started sleeping on opposite sides of the bed.
There was a time when they couldn’t stop clinging to each other, but now they occupied the far edges.
Still, by morning, they’d somehow end up tangled together again.
Regardless, Yoochan told himself it was time to get up and slowly rose from the bed.
“Time to eat breakfast. Get up.”
He tapped Joobin’s arm lightly, causing him to squint open his eyes.
“Don’t you have a schedule?”
“Mind your own business.”
There was no need to reply to his irritated tone.
Yoochan headed straight for the bathroom without saying a word.
Joobin had been grumbling about the broadcast being too calculated, but both of them knew it would be hard if they didn’t prepare properly.
It wasn’t about the commercial.
Sure, they’d talked about potential penalties, but the real concern was their image.
If people found out they’d been lying, what would happen to their reputations?
They had worked hard to maintain their scandal-free status throughout their careers, and Yoochan had seen countless actors’ reputations crumble in an instant after years of effort.
That’s why Yoochan thought it was essential for them to act as naturally as possible.
Just like when they were dating, they should always eat breakfast together and smile at each other.
If they wanted to behave naturally in front of the cameras, it was best to stick to their old habits.
Even if eating face-to-face with the rather cold Joobin made Yoochan feel like he might get indigestion.
Still, Yoochan reminded himself that the cameras were always rolling as he left the bathroom.
Fortunately, Joobin seemed to agree because he was standing at the stove, stirring a pot.
They had dinner with the drama production team last night, and now, a pot of soup was bubbling away on the stove.
“Is that for your hangover?”
Yoochan walked over and asked.
Joobin glanced at him sideways before nodding without saying anything.
He looked grumpy, still not fully awake.
“You look tired.”
Yoochan chuckled and, without thinking, patted Joobin’s bottom.
It was a natural gesture, a habit from their many years together.
But it was Yoochan, not Joobin, who was startled.
Joobin, dazed as he was, didn’t react at all, simply offering his bottom like nothing was wrong.
Only Yoochan became self-conscious, quickly withdrawing his hand.
Awkwardly clearing his throat, Yoochan braced himself for Joobin’s inevitable irritation.
“What are you going to eat?”
But Joobin only asked in a sleepy voice.
“I’ll eat with you.”
“I only made enough for one.”
“Why’d you only make one serving when someone else is here?”
“I figured you wouldn’t eat since you didn’t drink last night.”
Still, that seemed a bit cold.
But there was no point in arguing about it.
It was no longer a given that Cha Joobin would take care of him.
Since Yoochan couldn’t demand him to handle his share as well, Gong Yoochan swallowed his bitterness and yanked open the fridge door.
“Huh…?”
Yoochan, who had shoved half his body into the fridge like he was about to get sucked in, let out a confused sound.
The two remaining hangover soup meal kits were completely gone.
Yesterday evening, when Cha Joobin texted saying he was drinking, Yoochan had checked to see if there was any hangover soup left, and he was sure there were two.
So why were they gone now?
As he straightened up and tilted his head, he noticed two opened meal kit packages next to the kitchen counter.
“Hey, did you eat both of these by yourself?”
“There’s two of us, isn’t there?”
Wait, then why didn’t you just say you made two from the start?
Yoochan frowned briefly, finding Joobin’s choice of words completely baffling.
But, at least it meant that he was making some for him as well, so Yoochan sat down, ready to eat.
He placed his spoon down, opened the side dish containers, and served himself a portion onto his plate.
The two ate in silence.
If there had been anything to talk about, eating together wouldn’t have been this awkward.
But as the uncomfortable atmosphere grew, it became even harder to start a conversation.
Yoochan cleared his throat and spoke with difficulty.
“So, how’s the romance thing you said you were working on? Is it going well?”
Cha Joobin, who had been silently eating, lifted only his eyes to look at him.
The spoon, which had been moving mechanically up until then, stopped.
With each slow blink, his gaze grew sharper. It wasn’t like Yoochan had asked something inappropriate, so why was he being so defensive?
Was he telling me not to get involved at all?
Still, they had been long-time lovers and trusted colleagues.
If Joobin asked for advice, Yoochan would gladly give it, but it seemed like even that window was closing, which left him feeling a bit disappointed.
“Maybe I shouldn’t have asked. Sorry.”
Yoochan forced himself to keep eating, suppressing the growing frustration.
He could feel Cha Joobin staring at him, his gaze piercing through the top of his head.
His chest tightened.
He felt like he might choke any moment.
Grabbing his water cup in a hurry, Yoochan saw Joobin half-heartedly pour him some water.
He knew Yoochan didn’t like to drink a lot at once.
When Yoochan glanced at him, Joobin raised an eyebrow.
His expression wasn’t exactly kind.
“…”
This is why he wanted to end things properly.
Since their relationship was tied to the same program, they weren’t fully separated.
Yoochan wanted to finish things cleanly, to avoid this vague, worse-than-strangers status they were stuck in.
In the end, without exchanging a word, the two were no longer colleagues, close friends, or lovers.
It was a bitter pill to swallow, realizing that seven years of their relationship had ended in this pitiful state.
He gulped down the bitterness along with his rice.
“…Acting all cool like you’ve been waiting for this.”
Yoochan glanced at Cha Joobin at the unexpected remark.
His gaze was sharp, directly staring him down.
The jet-black pupils, framed clearly by his eyes, were dark and deep.
The faintly distorted eyebrows were a subtle display of his bad mood.
Cha Joobin set down his spoon with a clatter, his voice cold.
“You’re so obnoxious.”
What?
Yoochan was stunned.
He couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.
It took a moment for the words to sink in, and by then, he didn’t even know how to respond.
His eyes blinked in confusion, but before he could say anything, Joobin stood up abruptly and dumped his bowl into the sink with a loud clang.
With that loud noise, Joobin disappeared into the bathroom.
Soon, the sound of running water filled the room.
Even in that moment, Yoochan could only tilt his head in bewilderment.
What was that?
What’s obnoxious?
What’s the problem?
Why…?
Yoochan threw a completely confused look at the bathroom.
