“Wait… mmm…”
Startled, he tried to pull away, but Elliot’s hand had moved to the back of his head, holding his neck and head firmly in place.
Elliot’s mouth closed over his, preventing any escape.
Just moments ago, Elliot’s kiss had left him freezing.
But now, the same kiss was igniting him, heating him from the inside out.
It wasn’t just Elliot’s warm feelings alone.
If their previous kisses were merely for guiding, this one clearly held a different intent.
Each shared breath sent a tremor through his body.
Even the mingling saliva was so sweet it numbed his mind.
His thoughts grew hazy.
He felt like he was falling apart.
His legs dangled weakly, his fingers tapping at the back of the chair in desperation, but Elliot showed no intention of letting him go.
Instead, Elliot tightened his grip on their interlocked hands.
“Aah…”
Breathless, he finally gasped for air as their lips parted.
Despite the intense emotions he’d just shared, Elliot barely looked flushed, his expression still calm as he spoke.
“You’re always so oblivious, aren’t you? But this is how I truly feel. I didn’t propose just for the sake of the child. So…”
From his abdomen to his throat, he felt filled with a warm, heady sensation, making it hard to breathe.
He lay there, gasping for breath, when he felt Elliot’s gentle hand brushing his bangs aside.
He opened his eyes to see Elliot’s soft, pink eyes gazing down at him.
It was the same beautiful gaze as always, one that filled the viewer with warmth.
“Please reconsider. I’ll make sure to be everything you need.”
“Ha…”
“Even if raising a child alone seems hard, maybe together, we could make it.”
“Elli… ngh…”
His tongue, worn out from exertion, couldn’t form words properly, but Elliot seemed to decide he hadn’t “teased” him enough.
Elliot leaned in for another kiss, their tongues entwining again, drawing him deeper.
He needed to resist.
Even if Elliot was sincere, he couldn’t accept those feelings.
He had to sever this attachment, just like he’d once severed their forced guiding.
But he couldn’t.
At first, he’d been too shocked to respond. But now… he simply couldn’t pull away.
As the kiss grew deeper, emotions that Elliot hadn’t meant to reveal poured into him.
All of Elliot’s feelings: treasuring him, resenting his neglect, cherishing him dearly but feeling slighted, being frustrated by pride yet desperately wanting him to stay.
Such deep, unreciprocated emotions.
Each piece of that heartfelt affection felt too overwhelming, and he realized he couldn’t ignore it any longer.
“Mmm…”
Accepting the wave after wave of emotions, he eventually melted under the heat.
Only then did Elliot break the kiss.
With a final, lingering brush of their lips, Elliot pulled him close, holding him tenderly.
“You must be exhausted. Rest for a bit—I’ll wake you.”
As he lay there, too drained to even close his mouth, Elliot gently wiped his lips with his thumb.
Even just guiding was exhausting.
And now, receiving Elliot’s intense emotions left him utterly spent. He couldn’t even lift a finger.
Soon, his consciousness faded away.
Beep, beep, beep.
Returning from his short essay class, Ye Eunsoo entered the passcode and opened the front door.
“Uncle, I’m ho…”
He’d been prepared to call out energetically to welcome the ever-patient, always waiting Yang Heewoon.
But Yeo Eunsoo couldn’t finish his words.
He noticed immediately—something was wrong with the atmosphere inside.
Yang Heewoon wasn’t there.
Not only did he fail to come out to greet him, but there was also no sign of him anywhere in the house.
Instead, Yeo Eunsoo spotted something: a trace of blood.
“…”
The sight of the dried, dark blood made his heart go cold.
He held his breath for a moment, quickly steadying himself.
There wasn’t a lot of blood, not enough to suggest life-threatening harm.
He took a deep breath, his eyes following the faint trail of blood spots toward Yang Heewoon’s slightly open bedroom door, and from there toward the front door.
In other words, Yang Heewoon had left the house.
Yeo Eunsoo’s blue eyes scanned the room.
There were no signs of a struggle or that the place had been searched.
Only Yang Heewoon’s terminal was missing from where it usually lay on the living room floor.
This didn’t seem like a kidnapping.
Was that a relief?
No.
It was even more infuriating, because it meant Yang Heewoon had left of his own accord.
‘I should have controlled myself better.’
Maybe he’d lost control because Yang Heewoon’s serene, sleeping face was so beautiful, or because he couldn’t resist the feel of his name murmured on those soft lips.
Sighing, Ye Eunsoo’s lips parted with frustration, his stormy blue eyes sharpening with determination.
“Whoever took him… is really going to regret it.”
It’s not as if he hadn’t anticipated this would happen.
No matter how carefully he managed the energy infused in Yang Heewoon to keep his time awake alone as brief as possible, he couldn’t hide him forever.
He figured there’d eventually be someone eager for guidance who’d latch on and drag Heewoon out of the house.
Just the thought of him needing another round of guidance irritated him, but he was also prepared to offer Heewoon some guiding energy to ensure he wouldn’t overexert himself.
“Without a word…”
Yet, he didn’t expect Heewoon to leave the house without saying anything to him.
He checked his phone, but, as expected, there was no message.
His insides boiled.
Didn’t this mean Heewoon was prioritizing whoever he went to see over him?
Who could it possibly be? Who was this guy?
– Thud.
He threw his bag down with frustration.
Though he didn’t know why Heewoon had left, he first had to find him.
The punishment for leaving without a word could be decided after bringing him back.
My hope, my sun.
Fortunately, he hadn’t slept for long.
It must have been about two hours.
His body felt a bit drained, but not as exhausted as that day at the amusement park when he felt he’d collapse without immediate sleep.
“Awake?”
“Yes…”
Apparently, Elliott had held him the entire time.
The first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was Elliott’s gentle, delicate face.
The tender smile on his lips made his own face flush hotly.
He couldn’t help it; those gentle lips had done unspeakable things to him.
“You can sleep more if you’d like.”
“No, I’ll get… Ah.”
He tried to sit up quickly, but his back wouldn’t support him.
It must be… from all the trembling while absorbing his emotions.
At this rate, he’d probably have sore muscles tomorrow.
“Heewoon.”
Feeling a bit embarrassed, he stared blankly down at his unresponsive waist, while Elliott smiled as if thoroughly amused.
“There’s no rush to give me an answer on my proposal. I’ll also take time to think more seriously about adoption.”
While it made him happy that Elliott was carefully considering the adoption… this situation was tricky.
Now, just like with Rex, he was putting off giving Elliott a response.
How did it end up like this?
He felt overwhelmed, his stomach still warm from the intense emotions Elliott had poured into him.
His heart was pounding uncontrollably.
But was that because of his own feelings, or the emotions Elliott had directed at him?
It was hard to tell.
What was it that Elliott and Rex found so captivating about him?
Heewoon was nothing more than an ordinary Grade B Guide.
Was it because neither had ever received Eunsoo’s guidance?
The emotional connection between an Esper and a Guide likely relied heavily on the exchange that guidance enabled.
Besides, since none of them had ever received guidance without pain caused by their psychic feedback, this experience had to feel uniquely special.
He felt like a burglar who’d wandered into the wrong home.
This wasn’t right.
Choosing him over Eunsoo was absurd.
“I hope Eunsoo regains his abilities soon…”
With a silent sigh, he tried to sit up again, but failed once more.
This was… a very uncomfortable situation.
“Uh…”
“What’s wrong?”
“Well… I can’t seem to get any strength in my back…”
“What?”
Elliott’s pink eyes widened in surprise.
