How could this happen?
My… bald patch was… discovered.
“Peep….”
Saewoo let out a drained sound, his body drooping.
There wasn’t much he could do, being in Hoyoon’s grip anyway, so he just let it happen.
“What’s with this bald spot? How did it happen? It’s huge!”
“Peep….”
“Don’t want to talk? But, I mean, I can see it clearly….”
“Peep-peep! Peeeeeep…!”
(Don’t talk about it! I don’t need to explain; you already know everything…!)
Saewoo cried out in a high-pitched squeal, both embarrassed and frustrated.
Hoyoon, startled by his outburst, looked slightly taken aback.
“Hey… It’s not even my fault… Why are you taking it out on me…?”
When Hoyoon looked at him with a sulky expression, as if wondering how Saewoo could be so unfair, Saewoo suddenly stopped his crying tantrum.
‘Ah… he has a point…?’
After all, it wasn’t Hoyoon who caused the bald spot.
Maybe he was being unreasonable, picking on the innocent snow leopard like this.
Saewoo’s heart softened, and he quickly fell silent.
Click.
“Peep…?”
While Saewoo was deep in innocent thoughts, a flash suddenly went off right in front of him.
Hoyoon, grinning, showed him the freshly taken photo.
“Haha, this came out really funny. Don’t you think so?”
“Peep… Peep…?”
Dazed by the flash, the little bird remained bewildered.
“You’re too cute; I just had to take a photo. Don’t worry, it’s only for me.”
Unfazed by Saewoo’s reaction, Hoyoon leaned in and placed a small kiss on his bald spot.
‘This… this…!’
Finally snapping out of it, Saewoo fluffed up his feathers, like a chick fresh out of the nest, his anger clear.
Hoyoon just chuckled, finding even this reaction adorable.
“…Peep!”
Just as the infuriated little bird was about to raise his wings defiantly—
Thud, thud!
The bathroom door handle rattled loudly as if it were about to break.
“What’s going on, why won’t it open? Saewoo! Open up! What’s wrong, you constipated? Why are you making so much noise in there? I noticed you didn’t drink much water earlier… Wait, do birds even… have hard droppings?”
Jibeom’s voice rang out clearly from outside the door.
‘W-What’s he… talking about poop for out there…!’
“Huh, were you in here to take care of some big business?”
“Peep-peep!”
(No!)
Shaking with anger, Saewoo denied it, flapping his wings furiously.
“Hm, that’s a problem. If you end up, uh, going during the trip, it’ll be inconvenient….”
“Peep-peep! Peeeeeep!”
(It’s not like that! You… you… you leopards! What on earth are you saying…!)
Fuming, the little bird screeched angrily, and Hoyoon laughed, shaking his shoulders.
“Hahaha! Now I see why Jibeom sticks with you. Saewoo, honestly, I’d take you with me if I had time to spare. Well then, see you next time, Saewoo.”
“Peep!”
(Not seeing you again!)
Saewoo jabbed Hoyoon’s back with his beak repeatedly, furiously rejecting him.
“Peck! Peep-peep-peck!”
(Delete the picture! Isn’t this a crime? You had to take it when I had a bald spot! You jerk…!)
As Saewoo threw a fit, pecking him so hard that he might make holes in his clothes, Hoyoon, unbothered, looped the camera strap around his neck.
“Ouch, Saewoo. Keep this up, and I might just show this photo around, you know?”
Unfazed by Saewoo’s attacks, Hoyoon remained calm and amused.
‘You…!’
Saewoo seethed, outraged by the leopard’s shamelessness.
Were all feline beast are like this?
Both Jibeom and Hoyoon were shameless perverts, doing whatever they wanted.
…Bam!
“Baek Saewoo!”
In the midst of his struggle, a loud noise shook the room as the bathroom door fell off its hinges.
Thud.
With the door down, Jibeom entered.
“…Tch.”
Hoyoon clicked his tongue and swiftly transformed into his snow leopard form, causing Saewoo, who was close, to be pushed away against the wall.
“That bastard…!”
Realizing Hoyoon’s presence, Jibeom quickly moved to chase after him.
But Hoyoon, just a split second faster, leaped out of the window, camera still around his neck.
Slam.
“That rat-like jerk!”
Gritting his teeth, Jibeom looked ready to pursue Hoyoon but held back, not wanting to leave Saewoo alone—especially since he was trembling, looking like he might collapse any moment.
“Are you alright….”
“Peep-peep!”
(Catch that jerk!)
Fuming, Saewoo flapped his wings in a frenzy, as if that alone wouldn’t be enough to express his anger, almost leaping out the window to chase after Hoyoon.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
“Peep!”
Jibeom quickly reached out and caught the little bird before he could make his escape.
Saewoo chirped in protest, thrashing around in his hands, his tiny beak and claws scratching at his palm.
“Baek Saewoo! Calm down. If you follow him, you’ll get lost! Relax, I’ll take care of that jerk….”
Suddenly, Saewoo, sitting in Jibeom’s palm, began to cry softly.
“You’re… crying? What did he do to you? Hey, come on, tell me. Let me see?”
Jibeom’s question was an indirect way of telling him to change back, but Saewoo shook his head, muttering under his beak.
“Peep… peep….”
(Give me… that….)
“What? Give you what?”
“Peep….”
(That….)
Without clearly explaining, Saewoo simply sat there, exhausted.
Perhaps the excitement had been too much for him.
He felt faint and dizzy.
“Peep….”
(Hurry and give it to me….)
Hearing his pitiful cry, Jibeom sighed and rummaged through Saewoo’s discarded clothes.
“What is it you want? Your phone? Did you bring some medicine?”
Growing frustrated, Saewoo pecked Jibeom’s finger sharply.
It didn’t hurt, but he was clearly annoyed.
“What on earth is it…?”
“Peep!”
(The cap!)
Finally, Saewoo squeezed his eyes shut and cried out.
It was for the bald spot.
If this was so important, wouldn’t it be easier to just transform back and wear a hat?
Jibeom, bewildered by his friend’s insistence, pulled out the plastic cap he had kept for him.
“Really, at a time like this… sigh….”
“Peep….”
(Just give it to me….)
“Here.”
As soon as Jibeom held the cap out, Saewoo eagerly ducked his head under it and settled down in Jibeom’s hand, eyes shut in contentment.
“Yeah, find out more about Song Hoyoon, that jerk. Why he’s suddenly showing up. Got it, bye.”
Jibeom, standing in the underground parking lot, ended the call after ordering his subordinate to look into Hoyoon’s motives.
He had tried to keep his distance from that psycho, but this was the second time Hoyoon had appeared in front of Saewoo.
He needed answers.
“What are you up to…?”
As soon as Jibeom thought of Song Hoyoon, he frowned deeply.
The organization had long been dismantled, and Hoyoon had seized the entire territory.
Jibeom had assumed that if Yutaekwon gave up the area, the territory would naturally fall into his hands.
However, Hoyoon unexpectedly stepped in, leaving Jibeom with no choice.
Before long, a series of unpleasant incidents started happening in the area, and Hoyoon was convinced Jibeom was behind it.
However, Jibeom had already left the organization after losing the territory and was quietly laying low with only a handful of subordinates who chose to follow him.
“Does that bastard still think I’m behind it…?”
At the time, Jibeom hadn’t felt the need to explain, but now, in hindsight, he regretted it a little.
He feared that the innocent Saewoo might get dragged into something dangerous.
“Sigh… what could that brat possibly hope to do… against Yoon Jibeom. How dare he.”
After all, he was just a lowly punk.
Jibeom, thinking of all the things he’d destroy to protect Saewoo if anything were to happen to him, marched toward his car in the parking lot and swung open the door.
“You only have me, right? Don’t worry. From now on, I’ll stay by your side and protect you….”
Snoozing.
In a small paper bag, a sparrow wearing a plastic cap on its head was dozing off, having apparently used up all its energy for the day.
