How an Omega Villain Survive chapter 106

* * *

Carrying Henry in his arms, Edwin strode into the Lorenz’ estate, setting off a flurry of commotion.

Servants scrambled to clear his path, too startled to mask their shock.

Edwin’s expression was grim, but his hands were painstakingly gentle as he laid Henry on a bed.

“Where’s the doctor?”

“On their way now.”

“Bring someone who knows pheromones well.”

His stern instructions left no room for argument.

Snatching a towel from a maid, Edwin began tending to Henry himself, wiping away the cold sweat.

Henry’s labored breathing seemed stifled, prompting Edwin to loosen his collar slightly.

He even massaged Henry’s hands and feet to improve circulation.

“He’s here.”

At the butler’s report, Edwin fixed the arriving doctor with a piercing gaze.

The doctor was the same one who had frequently tended to him during his manifestation—a man Edwin didn’t particularly trust, though he silently stepped aside to let him work.

“Focus on the pheromones,” Edwin said curtly.

Henry’s pheromones couldn’t be detected by the doctor because he was imprinted with Edwin.

So, Edwin had to spell it out for him.

“I’ll observe carefully.”

The doctor nodded and began his examination, starting with the pheromone glands.

Despite the careful yet swift movements of the doctor’s hands, Edwin’s sharp aura didn’t waver.

“The pheromone glands are abnormally swollen.”

The doctor concluded his diagnosis while rummaging through his bag for the necessary tools.

“It appears to have been caused by external stimulation, but pinpointing the exact cause immediately is difficult.”

“And the treatment?” Edwin pressed.

“For now, I’ll administer a pheromone suppressant. We’ll monitor its effects over time, but if it proves ineffective…”

The doctor hesitated briefly before continuing, his expression heavy.

“…we might have no choice but to excise the pheromone glands. However, such a procedure carries significant risks to the patient’s life, so avoiding that would be best. Managing the pheromones is the most urgent matter for now.”

“That’s irresponsible.”

Edwin interrupted, his voice cold.

The doctor had also failed to provide answers when Edwin’s own pheromone manifestation had occurred, dismissing it with a shake of his head.

Back then, he hadn’t even recognized the imprinting. Edwin doubted the doctor’s competence, though deep down, he knew he was just lashing out in frustration.

“If left unchecked, the pheromones may attack the brain. The solution I offered is the lesser of two evils,” the doctor replied, calmly and detachedly summing up the dire situation.

Once the doctor completed the treatment and left, Edwin slumped into a chair, burying his forehead against Henry’s hand with a sigh he couldn’t suppress.

The despair he’d felt when he first realized he couldn’t sense anyone else’s pheromones crept back, stronger than ever.

He’d once thought nothing could be worse than failing to become a “normal” Alpha.

But if he had known this would happen, if he could return to those times, perhaps he’d embrace it all with a smile—anything to see Henry unscathed.

What did it matter if he couldn’t sense another’s pheromones?

What was so terrible about being a half-baked Alpha?

Right now, with every anguished groan Henry let out, it felt like Edwin’s heart was being slashed anew.

“Henry…”

Please… wake up.

Even after administering the suppressants at regular intervals as prescribed, there was little improvement.

If anything, Henry’s pheromones seemed to react violently, thrashing harder against the suppressant.

Realizing the medication was ineffective, Edwin resolved to use his own pheromones.

As the imprinted partner, his pheromones were the only ones capable of interacting with Henry’s.

It was a desperate gamble to stabilize him.

“Ugh…”

But it wasn’t easy.

Edwin’s extreme pheromones, if released too strongly, would suppress Henry’s pheromones, causing him pain.

If reduced too much, Henry’s pheromones would expand wildly, spiraling out of control.

Balancing this delicate act was like a futile tug-of-war.

Time dragged on as Edwin’s face grew drenched in sweat, his desperation mounting with every pained sound Henry made.

The atmosphere in the room felt as fragile as glass, ready to shatter at any moment.

And it did—when someone knocked on the door.

Edwin turned, his gaze sharp and full of restrained anger.

Without waiting for permission, the door creaked open, and a figure partially entered.

It was Sir Teher.

“Apologies for entering uninvited.”

He bowed slightly, but Edwin’s irritation didn’t wane.

Not that Teher seemed to expect it to.

“Is he awake yet?”

“If he were, I wouldn’t be keeping the door shut,” Edwin snapped.

Edwin wasn’t the only one worried about Henry.

Though Edwin had brought him to the Lorenz estate, the Timothy family had tried to reclaim him, causing no small amount of chaos.

Edwin sighed heavily, already worn out.

Perhaps anticipating such a response, Teher got straight to the point.

“I’ve brought someone.”

Teher hadn’t been idle while Henry lay unconscious.

Despite Edwin’s desire to dismiss any interference, he knew they couldn’t afford to turn away even the slimmest of chances.

Edwin’s gaze demanded an explanation.

Teher stepped aside, allowing space for another person to enter. A familiar face emerged.

“I’m not a doctor, but I might have a solution.”

It was Count Ariat.

Once Sir Teher quietly closed the door behind him, the Count stepped in cautiously.

“I heard about what happened to Henry.”

Count Ariat glanced at the bed, his gaze briefly resting on Henry’s pale, motionless figure.

His expression darkened with sympathy, but he quickly looked away, as if prolonging his gaze would further agitate Edwin.

“I’ve considered the situation based on what I know.”

The Count clasped his hands behind his back, meeting Edwin’s eyes.

“Henry’s pheromones are unstable, and the doctor’s treatments have proven ineffective. At this point, unless you, his imprinted partner, stabilize him with your pheromones, the only other option may involve surgical intervention…”

Edwin’s eyes widened.

While he wasn’t sure how much Teher had shared, Count Ariat’s analysis was spot-on.

“And yet,” Ariat continued, his tone sharp, “you’ve lived your life believing you were incomplete. How well can you actually control your pheromones?”

Edwin lowered his head, unable to refute the Count’s blunt observation.

It was true—his pheromone control was rudimentary at best.

Even his extreme pheromones felt laughably unmanageable.

“Moreover, in Henry’s condition, I doubt you’re thinking clearly. That’s why I suggest…”

Count Ariat shrugged.

“Use the treasure of Marquis Carian.”

It was a simple suggestion—to utilize the treasure of the Grand Mage they had obtained.

Ariat explained that because their imprinting was incomplete, balancing their pheromones was far more challenging.

He’d revisited Marquis Carian’s research and believed it held the key.

[If the treasure is something that could stabilize his unstable bond, wouldn’t it be worth trying?]
