“Ugh, ah, argh, aaargh!”
I couldn’t help but scream as my mouth opened involuntarily.
I was being held by the head in mid-air by Jake’s massive hand. Yet, the sensation he transmitted made it feel like my limbs were being crushed by a huge body, and my entire body was being gnawed at alive.
The terrible pain from the imagery made my whole body convulse. My mind was already a sticky and blood-red mess.
“Aaah, ah, ah…”
My voice quickly became hoarse from screaming as hard as I could amidst the immense pain of being bitten all over by sharp, strong teeth.
However, I was a person accustomed to pain, having suffered from a chronic illness for a long time.
I managed to regain my composure before completely losing consciousness.
I just needed to cut it off.
No matter how much an Esper forces impurities of emotions onto a Guide, there were ways for a Guide to resist.
If I could reject it and send it back, it would inflict immense pain on the Esper and make them stop this cursed act.
But I chose not to resist.
‘It’s faster if I just die…’
And it’s certain.
If I get killed by the rampaging Jake Powell, the Bureau will detain him and conduct a thorough investigation.
Soon enough, they’ll discover the existence of Ye Eunsoo.
Although he’s still a minor, Eunsoo is an excellent Guide who can guide the Special A Team.
As a minor, the Bureau will take even better care of Eunsoo. In everyday life and within the Special A Team.
While living with me, the three Espers of the Special A Team have become much kinder and more straightforward compared to the original story.
Without misunderstandings with Eunsoo, without sexual abuse, they could naturally become close within half a year under the Bureau’s supervision.
And… one more thing, the cause of Jake’s rampage is undoubtedly Eunsoo.
For his sake, I had to handle Jake’s rampage as much as possible to prevent the worst-case scenario.
“Ah… ha…”
As I forcibly processed the overflowing impurities of emotions to keep them from spilling over, my body soon became too exhausted to even scream.
Only a wet voice mixed with saliva that I couldn’t swallow flowed out from between my lips.
Thanks to my hard effort, the imagery of my flesh being gnawed at disappeared.
Instead, it felt like a giant beast with sharp claws was pressing down on my heart.
The pressure increased with each heartbeat.
Though not as painful as Cha Junseong’s imagery, it wasn’t any less lethal. It was clear that my heart would soon be crushed by this imagery.
‘Cardiac arrest.’
It’s the cause of death that will soon be written next to my name.
‘It’s okay… it’s enough…’
Though it’s the second near-death crisis since inhabiting Yang Heewoon’s body, it felt quite different from before.
My lifespan was extended by only about two weeks, but I was satisfied with my past life.
I had meals at Cha Junseong’s house and saw his disheveled appearance.
Elliot willingly became Huimang’s ‘dad’ and gave me a beautiful suit as a gift.
Rex told me he ‘missed’ me and called me ‘Heewoon’ several times affectionately.
And Eunsoo will be found by the Bureau and Rex.
I can come into the world six months earlier than in the original story.
This is enough. It was a wonderfully happy bonus stage.
I regret just one thing.
The unfinished will. I should have written one more line.
‘Thanks to you, I was happy like in a dream.’
“Hup, ugh, ha…”
Letting go of my last lingering attachment, I accepted my fate, closed my eyes, and relaxed my body.
The sound of my heart, facing death, gradually grew faint along with my consciousness.
…It felt like I heard something burst with a “pop.”
Ye Eunsoo couldn’t help but admit it.
‘Yang Heewoon isn’t coming…’
Her plan had failed. Not just failed, it had utterly collapsed.
He bit his lip as he stared at the empty outdoor table.
Normally, Yang Heewoon would definitely be there at this time.
Where did it go wrong?
When he returned after finishing his preliminary work, Yang Heewoon had come to the convenience store.
He even gave his a drink. He was overjoyed.
All that was left was to show Yang Heewoon what he had prepared.
But his reaction to the ‘evidence’ he showed was unexpected.
Yang Heewoon didn’t get angry like before.
He didn’t cry either.
Instead, he looked at his with an emotion he hadn’t anticipated.
It took Ye Eunsoo a moment to recognize the emotion in his eyes.
‘Fear.’
Yang Heewoon was afraid of him. A lot.
‘What did I do wrong…?’
He had set up the situation to be similar, but the reaction was completely different.
Fear, even. he couldn’t understand why Yang Heewoon felt such an emotion upon seeing his wounds.
Did he think it was mutual violence instead of a one-sided beating? But he had shown him a one-sided beating before, so wouldn’t he recall that first?
“…”
Under the hat, Ye Eunsoo’s white face, now maskless thanks to his excellent healing ability, twisted in frustration.
He missed Yang Heewoon. If he had known he would end up waiting endlessly after seeing him for just a few minutes today, he wouldn’t have done it.
Yang Heewoon hadn’t set foot in the convenience store for a week.
Fortunately, it seemed like he was still hanging around nearby, but he stayed so far away that he could hardly see his face.
He didn’t give his gifts anymore. He didn’t wave at her. He didn’t smile at him. He couldn’t even see his sullen face.
He raised a hand to his face and brushed it down.
“So annoying…”
He muttered, forgetting about the ‘restriction.’
It was a mistake he would never usually make.
Fortunately, there was no one in the convenience store, so the ‘restriction’ didn’t activate.
While he was feeling relieved, the convenience store door opened.
A customer had arrived. Ye Eunsoo, out of habit from his long tenure as a part-timer, greeted immediately.
“Welcome.”
“Hey, you!”
“Yes?”
The customer walked straight to Ye Eunsoo. This customer looked somewhat familiar.
A towering height of nearly 2 meters, short red hair, a muscular build, especially with a particularly developed upper body, and a strikingly handsome face.
Where had he seen him before?
‘Ah, I remember.’
The smart Ye Eunsoo quickly recalled when, where, and how he had seen the man.
There was no way he wouldn’t remember. Who was he associated with?
‘That’s the guy who was with Yang Heewon.’
The man who had kneeled in front of the convenience store, caught during the assault incident with Yang Heewon.
The same guy who had been grinning obnoxiously next to Yang Heewon, hugging his shoulder.
The two seemed pretty close.
Friends, or maybe lovers?
Either way, it didn’t look good. While he was waiting for Yang Heewon to arrive at this place, without having mixed any personal words or touched him.
“Hey. Come outside for a moment.”
“What’s going on?”
“I don’t know, damn it! Just… just come out! I’ve got somewhere to go!”
Eunsoo hated the man even more.
A big, clueless brute was causing an endless fuss. He couldn’t understand why Yang Heewon would be involved with such a guy.
But he soon put on a friendly smile. It was his job.
“I’m sorry. If you’re not planning to buy anything, please leave.”
However, given his irritation, he had no intention of being kind to the man.
He pushed the man away briefly while playing a ‘trick’ on him.
From the moment the red-haired man walked in, Eunsoo knew he was an ‘idiot’ type of ability user, an ‘esper.’
Time to have a little fun.
But the moment Eunsoo played his ‘trick,’ the red-haired man’s expression changed.
His clear, sky-blue eyes looked at Eunsoo with surprise.
“You…”
‘Looks dumb, but quite something.’
Occasionally, ‘espers’ visited the convenience store.
Most were treated like regular customers, but when it was really boring, he would play a ‘trick’ to send them away.
Each time, the espers left without knowing what Eunsoo had done to them.
Just like with the ‘idiots.’ They barely reacted, sometimes just tilting their heads.
But this red-haired guy seemed to have noticed his ‘trick’ right away.
‘He’s onto me.’
It was an unexpected situation, but Eunsoo was not flustered.
It was surprising that the man had noticed the ‘trick,’ but it didn’t matter. There was no evidence that the ‘trick’ was his doing.
Eunsoo was confident that his abilities would not be discovered. He wasn’t a five-year-old kid anymore.
He lifted his head with a nonchalant expression, answering the man’s question with innocent eyes.
“Sorry?”
“You… just now… Could it be…?”
“Customer? What’s wrong?”
“Oh, damn it. I knew something was off!”
Muttering to himself, the red-haired man suddenly raised his voice with curses.
It seemed as though malice was pouring from his entire body, and his huge hand reached out towards Eunsoo .
- Bang.
Eunsoo was grabbed by the collar. He was pushed backward, causing neatly arranged cigarettes to fall to the floor.
Even after encountering all kinds of trouble working at the convenience store, this was a first. He was choking.
But what truly flustered Eunsoo wasn’t being grabbed by the collar by the big man.
“You, at this convenience store, what did you do to Jake Powell?! Did you… did you make Yang Heewon that idiot…!”
“……?”
Hearing the angry outburst from the red-haired man, Rex, and hearing the nostalgic name from his mouth, Eunsoo realized once again.
His plan had gone terribly wrong.

Thanks
So…did Eunsoo’s bruises was from Jake or himself? I’m curious….
Eunsoo’s injury is self inflicted but he most likely ‘played a trick’ on Jake causing his current state.
That Jake
Eunsoo is cunning
