Quietly Hiding that I am a Man chapter 45- Fake Prophecy

Before I could finish, the world flipped upside down.

In an instant, Jerome was on top of me, choking me with such force it felt like my neck would snap. My mouth hung open, gasping for air.

As I struggled, Jerome looked down at me with cold eyes before lowering his head.

He kissed my cheek briefly and whispered,

“I understand, Jeanne.”

“Ugh…”

“I get it.”

His thumb pressed hard against my throat.

The deadly pressure made my heart drop.

Drool dripped from my open mouth as I felt the heavy weight of Jerome’s arousal pressing against my stomach. E

ven in this moment, he was turned on, seeing me choke and writhe beneath him.

“Why don’t you like me?”

He was using only one hand.

Jerome easily choked me with one hand, and no matter how hard I tried to pry his fingers away, it was futile.

Even though we were both men, the disparity in strength was overwhelming.

There wasn’t even a single vein bulging in Jerome’s arm; he wasn’t trying to kill me—yet.

“I can give you everything. If you just ask, I can give you anything. So why don’t you ever ask me for anything? Why don’t you want anything from me? If you can’t ask for anything, then I can’t leave anything behind for you. There’s nothing to prove that you belong to me completely.”

Jerome’s rambling, insane monologue continued as he stared at me with empty eyes.

It felt like I was staring into the abyss, and my breath caught in my throat.

Tears ran down my cheeks as my nose stung. I could feel the pressure on my neck easing slightly.

Jerome spoke again in a dispassionate voice.

“When I was a kid, I once caught a fish from the lake and brought it home.”

“Ugh, cough…”

“I thought I was doing a good thing, bringing it home, but whether it was because the water wasn’t right or because it missed its family… It didn’t survive the week. I thought I was helping.”

Jerome, rambling like a madman, pulled me into a tight embrace as I continued coughing.

The tighter his grip became, the more my coughing subsided.

I could feel his hands trembling slightly as he held me close.

“I brought it home because I loved it so much…”

My gaze drifted to a cobweb tucked into the corner of the ceiling.

A butterfly, caught in the web, struggled helplessly.

The spider, which had rushed over, injected its venom into the butterfly’s body.

Just like the butterfly slowly becoming paralyzed, I could feel the sensation in my fingertips fading away.

“Even if Jerome has entered, this is my dream. I need to wake up.”

I often experienced sleep paralysis. After my father’s funeral, I frequently dreamt of a faceless woman.

She would mock my deceased father, then wallow in her own self-pity, and finally, she would hack me to pieces with a pair of garden shears.

All I could do, amidst the pain of my body being sliced apart, was scream helplessly.

After a year of being tormented by her, I finally found a way out. Pressing my nails hard into the palm of my hand.

That simple action could wake me from any nightmare.

And even though the situation was different this time, it was still a nightmare.

Surely, this method would work again.

“Damn it, I can’t get any strength into my hand.”

No matter how hard I tried to clench my fist, my body kept sagging, making it impossible.

Jerome, holding my frozen body, buried his face in my neck.

He inhaled deeply, as if settling an overdue payment all at once.

His hand, which had been tracing along my shoulder blades, touched my hair accessory.

“I’ve wanted to do this since the first time I saw you.”

“What are you…?”

“My wife looks much prettier with her hair down than tied up.”

Jerome tugged at the ribbon, undoing the elaborate hairstyle Twitty had carefully arranged.

I stared blankly at the ribbon as it fluttered to the floor.

His large hand pulled down the straps of my dress, and as my bare shoulders were exposed, my mind went blank with shock.

“If things continue like this, it’s only a matter of time before he discovers Jeanne is a man.”

Jerome let out a low moan as he pressed his lips against my exposed collarbone. His hand slid down to my waist and grabbed my chest.

I bit my lower lip hard and shook my head in protest at his blatant actions.

“S-Sacreans develop more slowly than other people. My body is unimpressive compared to the other women you’ve held. You’ll definitely be disappointed.”

When neither threats nor persuasion worked, pity was my last resort.

I looked at Jerome with the most pitiful, sorrowful expression I could muster.

Jerome paused briefly, then resumed fumbling over my clothes.

“Hmm, I see. Yeah, you’re right. It is small.”

After a moment of contemplation, Jerome gently brushed the fallen strands of hair behind my ear.

I flinched at the tender touch, so different from the hand that had just been strangling me moments ago.

The same hand wiped away the tear tracks left on my cheek. Jerome smiled softly.

“When a woman has a child, her breasts naturally swell. It’s quite adorable that you’re carrying this around and calling it a chest. But I’ll have a wet nurse feed our baby. I wouldn’t want your precious flat chest, the one I love, getting scratched up by an infant’s teeth.”

“…….”

“And don’t worry about shape or size. You won’t need to. You’ll never know another man besides me for the rest of your life. No other man will ever see these pitiful little things.”

Jerome continued talking with a serene expression as he tightly squeezed my chest.

His words were so nonsensical that I became dumbfounded.

My brain, unable to process the phrase “pathetically small chest,” simply gave up.

I looked at Jerome in a daze, shaking my head.

‘This is a dream. I just need to wake up.’

Jerome pulled my head back as I muttered like a madwoman.

His tongue slipped into my mouth.

Our bodies pressed together in the heated atmosphere.

As I turned my head to catch my breath, Jerome grabbed my chin again. His tongue deliberately touched the back of my throat, making me gag.

‘I need to think. How can I wake up from this nightmare?’

As Jerome lifted my dress, I bit down hard. But instead of biting Jerome’s tongue, I ended up biting my own.

I bit down so hard that my tongue split, and blood gushed out.

The blood dripped down my chin and onto the floor. Jerome, who had been silently watching, finally spoke.

“You’re really out of your mind.”

I thought to myself, ‘He’s one to talk.’

As my consciousness began to fade, the world around me distorted like smeared paint.

My prediction that intense pain would wake me up had been correct.

I glared at Jerome and let my head fall limply. Jerome grabbed my face, forcing me to look at him.

“Do you hate me that much?”

Jerome’s grip on my shoulders tightened, his neck veins bulging.

Honestly, I had bitten my tongue out of fear of being discovered as a man rather than out of hatred for him. Jerome, disbelieving, asked again.

“To the point where you’d rather bite your tongue and die?”

But more than anything, I wanted to get back at Jerome for invading my unconscious mind and crippling me.

Laughing bitterly through the blood, I shot him a cold glare and responded.

“Yes, I’d rather die than be with you.”

A loud crash, as if the ground was shaking, jolted me awake. It was dark, but more than anything, it was unbearably hot. It felt like I was trapped in a sauna.

‘Why is it so hot?’

As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I finally took in my surroundings.

The pinkish walls, veins visible through them, pulsed.

Grimacing at the nauseating sight, I muttered to myself.

“Where the hell am I?”

“You’re inside the heretic’s belly.”

A low voice, right next to me, startled me.

Even in the darkness, his eyes gleamed.

No wonder it was so unnaturally hot.

It seemed Jerome had been holding me the whole time I was unconscious.

I glared at him with a displeased expression and warned harshly.

“Stay out of my unconscious mind. I’ll really kill you.”

“I’ve heard enough of your refusals. My heart is already broken.”

Jerome replied indifferently, brushing back his sweat-soaked hair.

Despite the stifling heat, his hand felt cool. I quietly accepted his touch and reiterated firmly.

“Let me remind you again now that I’m awake. I’m not with you because I like you. I’m only here to destroy Mephisto, the demon sealed inside you.”

My clear rejection left Jerome unusually subdued.

If I were Jerome, my pride would have been too hurt to keep pursuing someone who hated me.

Jerome wasn’t lacking in looks or status, and he’d probably been courted by countless beautiful women.

Why would he cling to someone who despised him?

He’d only been out of the psychiatric ward for a short time, and with all that had happened between him and Jeanne, I suspected he was confusing curiosity for affection.

It was like how a dog becomes obsessed with a new squeaky toy for days. I sighed deeply and continued.

“If you behave yourself, I won’t be harsh with you. But if you become as violent as you were in my unconscious, I won’t deal with you anymore.”

“…….”

“Do you understand what I mean?”
