―This is the end.
The man’s figure was gradually dispersing. He spoke nonchalantly, ignoring the man in front of him.
―This is the end of the world.
―The end… you say?
The man holding the sword in front of him replied.
―Yes. There was never a possibility from the beginning. This is the only ending.
The man sighed.
―Even after glimpsing hundreds, thousands of parallel worlds, there was no different conclusion.
―Then, everything I’ve accomplished…?
The man holding the sword’s voice trembled.
―…I’m sorry.
With the man’s pitiful expression, the world began to plunge into darkness.

“It feels like a shitty ending.”
I can’t bring myself to say the game is like a shit. The issue is the ending. Somehow it became unpleasant from the latter part…
“No, why ruin the ending when things were going well?”
I like happy endings. Most people do. But insisting only on happy endings is not the case. A bad ending has its own appeal. Yes, if it’s reasonably understandable.
Among many endings, what’s the worst ending? It may vary for each person, but for me, it’s the ‘Ah, sh*t dream’ ending that turns everything that happened into garbage.
“There’s really no way out…”
Checking the community, there were plenty of posts cursing.
[Title: How’s the maker’s mom?
Please be well.]
―If you’re well, what the hell do you care
Wishing you good health
[Title: Just saw the ending, is it real?
Really sorry. And it just ends like that? I’ve been staring at a black screen for 30 minutes expecting something more to come out]
―Ah, if you’re sorry, there’s nothing we can do haha
—That’s right, hahaha
―Really, if that’s the end, it’s pitiful for the hard drive containing messages like ‘Stop rolling the computer, delete the game quickly.’
[Title: If you’re going to end it like this, just hand it back to Lian
Wouldn’t this be better even if it’s not good?]
―Yeah, better than a jerk who shirks responsibility~
—Sure, what can you produce~~
―Talking about responsibility while playing a free game hahaha.
―Lian isn’t irresponsible. He developed it for 3 years without taking a penny… and in the end, he even released the development code for free.
[Title: Lian, please come back
Remake the ending again… I’ll even donate…]
―The creator is already gone.
―Handed over the code, no news, and it’s a well-known rumor in academia that he forgot about making the game.
“……”
What can I hide?
I am thr original creator, Lian, whom those people desperately seek…
With a sigh, I left the community.
Belia Continent Chronicles.
Argon of Steel.
Mystical Calpheon.
Heterogeneous alliance Gellian.
Empire of malice, Cadian.
A cliché fantasy game divided into Part 1 where three kingdoms and the protagonist unite to destroy the Empire of Malice, and Part 2 where they prevent the existence of the otherworldly beings.
The problem is, it’s a game I created.
A game I abandoned after three years of development.
Sharing it on the internet, reluctant to waste what I created, it unexpectedly gained popularity.
Thanks to that popularity, people added this and that, turning it into a patchwork game where finding my traces became even more challenging.
“Sigh…”
A game I created alone for three years. There’s no way I don’t have affection for it. I haven’t forgotten.
I pretended not to show any signs of concern about passing it off to others and interfering with it.
Even while working, I regularly checked the community for news, and as soon as I heard that the ending had been released, I didn’t hesitate to put aside my main work to play it.
“But this kind of ending is a bit much…”
Talking about a topic I gave up on in the middle is one thing, but it leaves a bitter taste.
I moved the mouse and entered the development page.
[Hello, world!]
After the most familiar letters for programmers came to mind, various words appeared on the screen.
[MON-2-174-1]
[NPC-1-134-2]
[CS-24]
Monster Female 174, the shadow serpent offspring.
NPC Male 134, Reynolds in his teenage years.
Curse Magic 24, the true name.
Codes summarizing states for easy input.
Although it’s been three years since I stepped away from development, I still remember the meaning behind each code.
I invested my soul to that extent.
Opening the console, entering and erasing something dozens of times. Eventually, I sighed and closed the window.
Considered picking it up again as people suggested, but… it ends here.
I abandoned things midway. I passed it on to others. Even when I saw the content going downhill, I left it.
After leaving it untouched for years, is it ridiculous to come back now and claim to be the original creator making a new ending?
Yeah, what am I doing, remaking the ending now?
People are now shouting for the original creator to come back and finish it, but in reality, after passing through the hands of many skilled individuals, the game is much more polished than when I, an amateur, was developing it.
If I touch it again, I’ll probably end up being cursed by amateurs saying, ‘This guy made a really crappy game.’ Even though if I had made it, it would have had a happy ending….
Ignoring the lingering regret until the end, I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes.
