You Shouldn’t Abandon Us Like This

I don’t know when it started. Humans began to gather and live beneath my home. For some unknown reason, they set out feasts of delicious food in front of my house. We were quite good neighbors.
One day, I saw something incredibly pretty, so I went to take a look. But that pretty thing was broken.
“Where’s your arm? And your eye?”
Are they throwing this away? If I take it now, no one will notice, right? So, I stole it.
I thought that was the end of it, but it grew up to be so beautiful that, for some reason, I felt I couldn’t keep it in my house any longer. I felt sorry, thinking that because of me, it had been isolated from the world of humans. So, I released it back into the wild.
But then, it became too quiet and boring, so I found other pretty things. When those kids started to wither, I released them back, too. After doing this a few times, I got bored and stopped.
Not long after, the things I had released came to find me.
“If you took us in, you must take responsibility. You shouldn’t abandon us carelessly.”
I just put the things I stole or found back in their places. What is the problem?
