Dying like in the Original, that’s what the Omega Villain wants chapter 77

* * *

Rex couldn’t understand why he was acting this way.

Could one day of changed feelings for someone completely transform a person?

He could just write Allen a letter to clear up the misunderstanding—tell him Remy wasn’t involved in anything shady.

Yet, he hesitated, unable to stop thinking about him.

‘If this keeps up, I might go mad. Maybe it’s better to keep him in my sight than to be tormented like this.’

Rex pulled out his pocket watch.

Despite the late afternoon hour, he realized he might still be able to see Remy if he headed to the tent village now.

Hastily grabbing his jacket, he also made sure to take a hat to conceal his face.

“Where to, sir?”

“No need. I’ll go alone.”

Ignoring the coachman, Rex strode towards the front gate.

As he made his way through the vast estate, his heart pounded uncontrollably.

Oliver, along with his two younger siblings, had been engrossed in their lessons when the sky began to blush with the colors of twilight.

Remy, thrilled by how quickly Oliver picked up the material, suddenly realized it was much later than he intended.

With a start, he snapped the book shut.

“It’s too late. I have to leave now.”

Remy’s house was a fair distance from the tent village on Hicks Road.

The shortening days of autumn meant that if he left now, the darkness might envelop him before he even exited Hicks Road.

“Hyung, it’s really late, isn’t it? I’ll take you home,” Oliver offered.

“No, it’s fine. I’ll get there quickly,” Remy replied.

“But you walk so slowly, Hyung.”

“I’ll be fine. I’m an adult—I can handle it.”

Oliver frowned.

Even as young as he was, he knew how dangerous Hicks Road could be at night, and he understood all too well how much Remy’s striking beauty could attract unwanted attention.

He had never seen anyone as captivating as Remy, and the thought of him walking alone in the dark sent a chill down Oliver’s spine.

“I don’t like it. At least let me walk you to the edge of Hicks Road,” Oliver insisted.

Remy’s face hardened, an unusual sight for someone who always greeted Oliver’s words with a smile.

In a firm voice, he replied, “Think of your siblings. It’ll be dark soon. Are you really going to leave your two younger brothers behind?”

“But…”

Remy’s expression softened again as he looked at the hesitant child.

Gently, he said, “I told you, I’m an adult. If you want to escort me one day, wait until you’ve grown up. Right now, your job is to look after your brothers, not me.”

Oliver bit his lip in frustration.

Though he didn’t show it, he hated being so young.

If only he were older, he wouldn’t have to let his beloved brother brave the night alone.

“Oliver, give me your answer.”

“…All right. I’ll do as you say.”

“That’s a good boy.”

With a few affectionate ruffles of Oliver’s soft hair, Remy readied himself to leave.

Waving to Oliver’s younger siblings, who had come out to see him off, he walked toward the edge of the tent village alone.

‘Ugh… It’s even creepier than I thought,’ Remy thought to himself, shivering as he made his way through the dimly lit area.

Even in broad daylight, the tent village was unsettling, and the darkness only made it worse.

Still, he quickened his pace, determined to leave before it got any darker.

Just as he reached the edge of the village, the industrial zone at the far end of Hicks Road came into view.

It was a slight relief—there were at least a few people and scattered lights here, likely workers from the nearby factories that had just closed.

‘Phew. At least it’s better here,’ he thought, allowing himself a brief moment of respite.

However, as he continued toward home, a group of shadows suddenly blocked his path.

“…?”

The long shadows grew closer until they completely overshadowed him.

Swallowing nervously, Remy looked up to find three large men standing in front of him.

They were burly and rough-looking, likely laborers from the factories.

“What’s someone so fancy doing in a dump like this?” one of them sneered, his tone neither polite nor outright rude.

Remy’s eyes darted around, searching for anyone else nearby.

A few people had been around earlier, but now the area was eerily deserted.

“Hey, I asked what you’re doing here. Why aren’t you answering?” one of them barked, shoving Remy’s shoulder.

Remy stumbled but managed to stay on his feet, his shoulder throbbing from the impact.

“Get out of my way! What do you think you’re doing, stopping a passerby?” Remy snapped, glaring at them.

“Ha! Just answer the question, will you? Where are you off to?” the man pressed.

“Where I’m going is none of your business,” Remy retorted.

“Why should it concern you where I choose to walk?”

“Oh, it concerns us. Someone like you doesn’t just show up in a place like this. We’re curious, that’s all,” another man replied with a mocking grin.

Grinding his teeth, Remy realized he was in trouble.

Facing three rough factory workers in a deserted area was a situation even an average man would struggle with, let alone someone like him.

He decided to try a different approach.

“Is it money you’re after? If so, I’ll leave you all I have. Just step aside.”

The men fell silent for a moment before bursting into laughter.

“Did you hear that? This guy wants to pay us off!”

“Must be swimming in cash if he’s so eager to hand it over.”

“I bet nobles really do wipe their asses with bills!”

Remy’s attempt to de-escalate had backfired, but he refused to give up.

In a low, firm voice, he said, “Step aside now, and I’ll give you every coin I have. If you don’t, I won’t go quietly. Someone’s waiting for me, and they’ll be here soon.”

It was a lie, a desperate one.

In truth, there was no one waiting for Remy, nor anyone who might come to his aid.

His legs shook, and cold sweat dripped down his back, but he forced himself to appear calm.

‘They’ll take the money and leave. That’s all they want,’ he told himself.

“Well, fine. Hand it over, then,” one of them said at last.

Relieved, Remy quickly pulled out his wallet and handed it over.

As one man grabbed it, another stared intently at his face, half-hidden by the brim of his hat.

“There. You’ve got what you wanted. Now, let me go,” Remy said, turning to leave.

“Wait,” the man who had been staring at him said, grabbing his shoulder.

“What now? You promised to let me go if I gave you the money!” Remy shouted, his voice edged with panic.

“That was your promise, not ours,” the man replied, smirking. The others laughed again, their mocking tones echoing in the empty street.

“Damn it!” Furious, Remy clenched his small fist and swung it at the man holding him.

His punch landed squarely on the man’s chest—but it was so weak that it didn’t even make him flinch. Instead, the man chuckled.

“Feisty, aren’t you? From the looks of it, I’d say you’re an Omega, huh?”

Remy, you are so stupid aren’t you?? Handing out money to the thugs just because you have, will not solve the problem. If they want money, they will say so right away.. You’re an omega yes, but you shouldn’t be stupid.
