Dying like in the Original, that’s what the Omega Villain wants chapter 68

* * *

With a confident smile, Bennett stood, grabbing his hat along with the pouch on the table.

He gave an exaggerated bow, and when Remy nodded, he pressed his hat firmly onto his head and walked out.

‘This will do. I’ve taken one step closer to the original plot.’

Just like the original Remy, he had to do everything in his power to drag Allen to ruin.

That way, Allen could become the pitiful, wretched main omega of the original story, earning sympathy and regaining the love of the alphas.

And among those alphas, one of them had to… aim a gun at him to trigger the next turn of events.

“…”

Watching silently as Bennett departed, Remy also rose.

Tightening the cloak draped over his shoulders, he stepped out of the factory.

The weather had grown colder, the season transitioning fully into autumn.

Allen, staying at the family home rather than the summer estate surrounded by endless lavender fields, found each day prickly and uncomfortable—like walking on a thorny path.

This was thanks to the scandal involving Remy, Hayward, and Ashton, which had quietly spread among the noble offspring.

“This is driving me crazy. That hunting competition has caused absolute chaos.”

Everywhere Allen went, the talk was the same.

Hayward was aggressively courting Remy, and Ashton was also said to have feelings for him.

An omega of a noble family being wooed by two dominant alphas simultaneously—what could be more sensational and tantalizing?

“There’s even a rumor that on the final day, Remy showed up covered in Ashton’s scent…”

Hayward, a dominant alpha who had been close enough to catch the scent, was certain the two had been intimate.

But for others, it was merely speculative at best.

As for Allen, he was left seething with doubt, filled with unpleasant suspicions about his two childhood friends having spent a heat cycle together.

“That’s ridiculous. It must’ve been Remy’s first heat… and Ashton was his partner? How does that make sense? Why Ashton, of all people? Out of all the alphas out there, why him?!”

The image of Hayward punching Ashton on the final day, his pheromones and savage glare, flashed vividly in Allen’s mind.

Everything about it felt alien and chilling.

“Maybe… maybe Hayward reacted that way because it’s true. As a dominant alpha, he would’ve known immediately.”

The thought made Allen even angrier.

It was bad enough imagining Ashton and Remy together, but adding Hayward into the mix and their fight was infuriating.

“Damn it. This is driving me insane.”

If things continued like this, everything would be ruined.

His ambitious plans to marry Hayward and become crown princess, eventually the queen of the Empire, would be shattered.

If that failed, he had dreamed of becoming Ashton’s spouse and living as the duchess of the Harlan family.

Thanks to Remy, all those dreams had turned to dust.

“What do I do? What do I do…? I can’t just let this happen…”

In his desperation, Allen suddenly thought of Rex.

The last desirable match in the Empire was now the Balcom family.

“If nothing else works, perhaps I should turn my attention to Rex instead.”

In terms of prestige, the Balcom family was just as good as Ashton’s Harlan dukedom.

Losing the countess at an early age was a minor drawback compared to the family’s illustrious reputation.

It was undoubtedly a promising match.

“Yes… I’ll try to win Rex over. He despises Remy anyway. If I play my cards right…”

As Allen was immersed in plotting his next move, a sudden knock broke his train of thought.

“Who is it?”

Allen answered sharply, his irritation palpable.

A servant hesitantly replied from beyond the door.

“Master Allen, someone has come to see you.”

“Who? And why?”

“They said they have an urgent matter to discuss with you.”

“An urgent matter? With me? Who is it?”

“They introduced themselves as Bennett, sir.”

“Bennett…?”

Allen pondered deeply.

He rummaged through his mind, wondering if he knew anyone named Bennett.

However, nothing came to mind—there wasn’t even anyone with a similar name.

“What? Just tell him to leave. I don’t know anyone by that name.”

“No, he said it’s something really important. He insisted on meeting you.”

‘What the hell is this about? Why is it so urgent?’

Although Allen was suspicious, he had no choice but to agree after hearing what his attendant said next.

“Oh, right. He mentioned it was about Lord Wesley. He told me to pass along that message.”

“What? Bring him in immediately.”

“Pardon? Ah, y-yes, right away…”

Watching Allen’s abrupt shift in demeanor, the attendant stared at his master curiously for a moment before disappearing.

Left alone, Allen racked his brain again.

‘What could this be about? Something concerning Remy? What’s going on?’

Without hesitation, Allen made his way to the parlor.

As he entered, a man seated on the sofa stood up. Holding his hat in his arms, the man formally introduced himself.

Although he made an effort to be polite, a rough edge still clung to his demeanor.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Bennett.”

Allen’s gaze toward Bennett was far from kind.

Hearing that this was about Remy had drawn him here, but now, standing before him was some thug-like man.

“What business do you have with me?”

Allen’s tone was blunt as he seated himself on the large sofa.

Bennett followed suit, sitting in a nearby armchair at a right angle to Allen, pressing his hat tightly onto his lap.

“Before I tell you anything, I’d like you to make me a promise, my lord.”

“A promise?”

“If you hear me out, I’d like to be compensated for the information.”

Allen clicked his tongue immediately.

He already didn’t like the man’s behavior, and now he was demanding terms out of nowhere.

If it weren’t about Remy, Allen would have thrown him out without a second thought.

But for now, he decided to endure.

“Let’s hear it first.”

“I can’t speak unless you promise me.”

“No. I need to know what it’s about before I can make any promises.”

“I assure you, it’s something of great importance to you, my lord.”

“…”

“Well? What will you do? If you can’t promise, I’ll be on my way.”

“What?”

Allen scrutinized him.

His attitude suggested the matter truly was serious.

Even so, it was unthinkable to promise a stranger anything blindly.

Allen wrestled with the decision.

Should he trust this man or dismiss him and leave his curiosity unresolved?

“Fine. I promise.”

In the end, the name “Remy” weighed too heavily.

Until moments ago, Allen had been consumed by thoughts of Remy, whose actions had left him deeply troubled.

“Very well.”

Bennett adjusted his hat and took a sip from the tea the attendant had brought earlier before speaking with a grave tone.

“Not long ago, a young nobleman visited me.”

“To see you? Why?”

“To explain briefly, I deal in information—buying and selling it. My work mostly takes place in the shadows.”

“And?”

“You might have guessed this from what your attendant mentioned, but the nobleman who sought me out was none other than Lord Wesley.”

“Remy? Why would Remy seek you out?”

“He asked me to find evidence.”

“Evidence…?”

“Yes. Evidence proving that the Aylesford family’s New World development project is corrupt.”

“What?”

Allen felt his vision darken.

The revelation was so shocking that he struggled to form words.

“What… what are you saying?”

“Exactly what you heard, my lord.”

“But… why would he…? And more importantly, what could possibly be corrupt about my father’s project? It’s going perfectly well…”

“It seems even you aren’t fully aware, my lord.”

“Aware of what?”

“The Aylesford Count’s project is fraudulent. I’ve already acquired evidence through Nick.”

“…!”
