“Hey, are you even human?”
Jihoon, fuming, stormed up to Dowon and grabbed him by the collar. People passing by glanced their way, with some even taking photos or videos.
“This is disgusting. Don’t touch me with your filthy hands.”
Dowon pushed Jihoon away, removing the hand that had grabbed his collar, then dusted off his shirt as if it had been contaminated.
“Apologize to Eungyeol and never go near him again.”
“Why should I?”
Dowon tilted his head, confused by Jihoon’s words.
“Eungyeol is struggling because of you. Do you only care about your own feelings and not his?”
“Feelings? I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You bastard…”
Jihoon’s neck veins bulged in anger. He tried to grab Dowon’s collar again, but the situation was quickly defused by Dowon’s bodyguards and his secretary, Wonjin, who had appeared just in time.
Dowon sat in the back seat of his car, deep in thought. Ever since Eungyeol had rejected him, Dowon had no idea how he was living or who he was meeting.
So he surrounded Eungyeol with people of his own, to keep tabs on his every move. Of course, it hadn’t escaped the sharp eyes of Seo Jihoon.
Eungyeol had been getting along fine with the people Dowon had hired.
But had that made him uncomfortable?
Dowon slowly stroked his chin and asked Wonjin, who was starting the car.
“Have I done something wrong?”
“Asking me that…”
“All I wanted was to have Eungyeol.”
“……”
“What should I have done?”
“You need to win his heart.”
Dowon blinked at Wonjin’s blunt response.
“His heart? How do you win someone’s heart? If you take out their heart, they’ll die.”
Wonjin sighed quietly, the sound filling the car. Dowon, completely lost, just stared out the window.
ꔚ
In a dark room, the monitor was the only source of light, blinking on and off. A man sitting in front of it scrolled through the reactions to his novel.
[choose777: This is great!! The character setting for the seme is really unique! Does he not feel emotions? I wonder if he’ll be able to win Eungyeol’s heart! Looking forward to the next chapter~]
[riviewer4980: What’s up with Cha Dowon’s speech? Is he an AI?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ His mindset is so logical, it’s fascinating.]
[feelsogood: I hate overbearing semes in this day and ageㅎㅎ,, Dropping this if Cha Dowon is the main character.]
[bllovelove: Such a cliché story, how is this work ranking #1 for two months straight? Did the author rig the rankings with their friends or something? I can already guess how it’s going to end.]
ㄴIf you can guess the ending, why don’t you go spread a mat and start telling fortunes instead of hanging around here?
ㄴSo trueㅋㅋ
[saranghaeyo0827: No chaebol actually behaves like this.. Real chaebols don’t act this way, this is so unrealistic.]
ㄴIt’s a novel, just treat it like one. Do we have a real chaebol in the house? ㅋ
ㄴsaranghaeyo0827: Ugh, get lost, troll.
[arima135: Isn’t this a plagiarized version of jch? The story seems really familiar. If you guys want a real possessive seme story, go read jch.]
ㄴWhat’s jch?
ㄴarima135: It’s by writer Jochagyeog
ㄴCalling this plagiarism is ridiculous. Possessive seme stories are everywhere.
ㄴarima135: Sure~ If you disagree, then you must be right~
The man threw his mouse in frustration after reading a comment calling his work a cliché and a rip-off.
“What? My story is cliché? Plagiarism?”
He couldn’t suppress his anger for a long time, but eventually, he put the mouse back in place and continued reading the comments.
[dajeonggongjoa44: Like the comment above, Cha Dowon is too overbearing… I’m investing in Baek Seonwoo stock.]
[biseogongjmt7980: The secretary seme is the best, sigh… Can’t we make Wonjin the main character? ㅠㅠ]
[friendisgood010: Main Character of Childhood Friend ㄱㅂㄱ]
ㄴ That’s funny, lol. It’s obvious that the main character is Cha Dowon anyway.
ㄴ True, true. The title itself is “No to Obsession,” which is totally a Cha Dowon keyword.
Just as the comments predicted, the main character of the novel the man was working on was indeed Cha Dowon.
The story mainly revolved around Dowon, who, having never been socialized and thus not understanding emotions well, learns a lot and awakens to his feelings as he falls in love with Eungyeol.
Unfortunately, the man was easily influenced.
How easily?
Well, he was originally a fantasy novel writer, but when he heard that a friend of a friend of a friend had hit the jackpot with a BL (Boys’ Love) novel, he was so swayed that he immediately decided to write a BL novel himself.
In the end, his venture was somewhat successful.
For two whole months on a free serialization site, his work held the number one ranking without giving it up to anyone, and he received countless offers from both large and small publishers wanting to work with him.
However, the man still hadn’t found a publisher that met his high standards and was still in discussions with them about the terms.
“Well, if it’s so cliché, I should show them what it means to be original.”
The easily influenced writer, Petirollang, was hurt by comments accusing his work of being a rip-off and decided to completely change the story.
The sound of his fingers clacking on the keyboard echoed noisily throughout the room.
ꔚ
Writer PetitRollang of ‘No to Obsession’ realized that comments saying they would drop the story if Cha Dowon remained the main character were becoming rampant.
So, in order to address both the criticism of a cliché plot and the backlash against Dowon, he decided to turn Dowon into the villain.
Though it was somewhat bitter to turn the main character he had been considering into the villain, he figured it was because he hadn’t managed to capture the charm of Cha Dowon as a character.
Turning Dowon into the villain was not a difficult task for PetitRollang.
From the beginning, Dowon had been a character who was emotionally numb and incapable of empathizing with others, someone who cared about nothing but himself.
By highlighting the appeal of the other potential leads and making the readers detach from Cha Dowon, the transformation into a villain was complete.
“Seonwoo, I really can’t take it anymore. Because of me, your hand….”
“Eungyeol….”
Eungyeol whimpered as he looked at Seonwoo’s damaged hand, which had been injured while protecting him from a sudden assailant.
For a pianist, his hands were as vital as his life. Seeing Eungyeol in such agony, Seonwoo pulled him into a tight embrace.
In truth, the reason Seonwoo, who previously had no connection with Eungyeol, had approached him was that Eungyeol was the only thing Cha Dowon, who cared only about work and himself, showed any interest in.
Until now, Seonwoo had continued his relationship with Eungyeol for ulterior motives, but only then did he realize that his heart was truly leaning towards Eungyeol, to the extent that he would sacrifice his own hands, his lifeline, for him.
“Damn it, Cha Dowon… Are you really doing things like this now?”
Jihoon, who also had the “childhood friend” keyword, realized that he wanted to protect Eungyeol after seeing how much pain Dowon had caused him. And he realized that this desire was love.
As the potential leads realized their feelings due to the villain Dowon, and the tension in the story reached its peak, Secretary Wonjin who had coincidentally learned Dowon’s secret, made a huge decision for Eungyeol’s sake.
This marked the beginning of Dowon’s downfall as the villain.
ꔚ
One day, Chairman Cha Heeseok gathered all the members of his family in one place, saying he had something important to discuss. Dowon was there as well.
Setting the mood, Heeseok asked Dowon’s mother, Park Kyungsook, in a stern, low voice.
“Is it true that Dowon is not my biological grandson?”
“What? What are you talking about, Father, out of the blue?”
Kyungsook, who had kept the secret hidden for a long time, was greatly flustered but feigned ignorance.
Dowon’s father, Cha Hyunguk, who didn’t know the full story, looked puzzled by Heeseok’s strange words.
“Father, what do you mean by that…?”
“Secretary Ha secretly informed me. He heard you, Park Kyungsook, talking on the phone with Dowon’s biological father.”
“He must have misheard something. Just look at Dowon’s face. He looks exactly like his father!”
Kyungsook tried to continue with a nonchalant tone, but Heeseok, with his firm demeanor, didn’t seem like he would let this matter slide.
As the family members sitting around the table insisted on a DNA test if she had nothing to hide, Kyungsook began nervously biting her newly manicured thumb.
Amidst the stormy atmosphere where his mother was under fire, Dowon stared only at Wonjin who was standing beside Chairman Cha Heeseok.
How long had he known?
Wonjin not wanting to meet Dowon’s gaze, coldly averted his eyes.
Seeing this, Dowon felt a strange emotion.
“Have the two of you been deceiving me all this time?”
“No, Father, it’s not that….”
“Get out.”
“What?”
“Both of you, get out of my house and my company right now!”
The moment Cha Heeseok delivered his final verdict to Kyungsook and Dowon, Dowon saw the expressions of the family members around him change in an instant.
They were sneering, clearly enjoying his downfall.
Wasn’t Cha Heeseok supposed to value ability over bloodline and background?
‘How could he cast me aside the moment he found out I wasn’t his biological grandson? All this time, I lived with nothing but the Seongjin Group in mind.’
Dowon felt as if he had lost everything he had been fighting for in an instant.
A wave of despair washed over him.
Though Dowon felt endless betrayal from both his grandfather and Wonjin his emotional numbness prevented him from understanding what exactly he was feeling.
ꔚ
[wasd1234: So in the end, Eungyeol and the other leads did nothing to deal with Cha Dowon; it was all handled by Wonjin and the Chairman.]
ㄴ Seriously… that’s kind of disappointing.
[michin999: Cha Dowon, I hope you regret what you did to Eungyeol and the others until the day you die…]
[ari350987: As someone who was invested in Cha Dowon as the main character from start to finish, what on earth was this ending…?]
ㄴ It’s best to just enjoy it as a time-killer. It was fun enough in that way.
[mainball: So now we’re down to three potential leads. Who will become the main character?]

It’s so obvious that
Dowon just doesn’t understand his emotions well. I could figure that out even before reaching the point where the author mentioned that he was numb to emotions and he was eventually meant to learn to realize what he actually feels and how to express it properly. So how can the readers not realize that? are they dumb?
It’s so obvious he’s not an overbearing
male lead archetype. It’s more of, he literally doesn’t know what he’s doing right now or what he’s feeling. He is quite literally learning it like a child, from the beginning.
And it’s how the other characters although they understand human emotions better than Dowon, also weren’t aware of their feelings for Eungyeol. If they get to learn about their own feelings, what’s the problem with having an emotionally blind character getting the chance to learn about their own feelings as well? That’s literally character development.
Not to mention that Seonwoo in the beginning had more villain potential than Dowon. I mean, he literally approached Eungyeol with the aim of getting to Dowon, because he knows that’s the only thing that he cares about asides his work. Yet someone is rooting for their ship.💀
It’s ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.😭
Sorry for the rant but the reader comments were just so ridiculous😭
I totally agree with you
I hope he found his home ;–;his happiness….he is do worthy
So was a dna test even conducted in the end? It would be so stupid if its all false rumour.
Even if Dowon was overbearing he was at least honest, always trying his best and say what he think. He is not a betrayal little back stabbing basket….
Not saying about other things but it’s so sad that his effort is not worth than blood, that’s absurd.
Lloro por el 😥
Thanks for the chapter
Thank you
Very niceee
Thanks for the chapter
Are the readers brain dead … it’s so cliche and it’s so obvious that Dowon didn’t like Eungyeol
