He’d thought the shopping bag was fairly large, but he hadn’t expected this many items to come out of it.
Starting with a dress shirt, there was also a tie, shoes, and even a belt—all prepared in advance.
“What’s all this?”
Opening a long, narrow box, Wookyung tilted his head.
Inside were sparkling cufflinks and a boutonnière made from pale pink roses and baby’s breath.
It wasn’t that he didn’t recognize the items—he just couldn’t figure out why they were here.
“Cufflinks and even a boutonnière, all ready in advance. The Alpha groom has excellent taste,” the designer said with a compliment.
Only then did Wookyung realize that these items were the “accessories” Saheon had mentioned earlier.
His gaze naturally shifted toward Saheon.
“What is all this…?”
“I just picked them up at the department store whenever they came to mind.”
Noticing the look in Wookyung’s eyes—clearly wondering why he had even gone to the department store—Saheon quickly added,
“I mean, we’re not renovating the apartment, but we’ll need new furniture and appliances. Of course, we’ll go pick them out together later, but I figured it’d be good to have an idea of what’s nice.”
In the end, their newlywed home was decided to be Saheon’s current apartment.
They didn’t have the time or energy to find another place, and Wookyung had insisted on it.
As for the household items, they had agreed to choose them together, but it seemed Saheon had already done some research on his own.
“You should’ve told me earlier. I could’ve helped.”
Wookyung sounded a little guilty, but Saheon shook his head.
“It’s fine. I know how busy you’ve been. You said you were dealing with local staff issues again today, and then had design meetings nonstop. I just dropped by a few places since I was nearby for another appointment.”
As he spoke, Saheon gave the designer a subtle glance.
“Shall we try on the shirt first, Wookyung?”
Picking up on the signal, the designer approached with a cheerful tone.
“It looks fantastic on you! The color of the tie and shirt match much better too. You’ve really got great taste.”
The designer clapped his hands, praising generously.
Wookyung glanced at the mirror to check his reflection.
It really did suit him better than before.
When he looked over at Saheon as if to ask how he’d thought of this, the man simply smiled.
That smug expression was oddly irritating.
“Shall we try the rest too?”
The designer moved to attach the cufflinks but was blocked by a long arm. Saheon.
“I’ll do it.”
He took the long velvet box in hand.
“Oh, of course.”
The designer stepped back respectfully, and Saheon approached Wookyung.
“Give me your hand.”
“Here.”
As Wookyung extended his arm, he studied his Alpha’s face.
“What is it?”
Saheon asked as he inserted the cufflink through the buttonhole and secured it by rotating the bar horizontally.
It was strange how Saheon always knew exactly what Wookyung was thinking, even with his eyes lowered.
“You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
He whispered in a low voice, prompting Saheon to raise a brow as if asking what he meant.
Instead of answering, Wookyung flicked his gaze toward the designer.
“Hmm…”
Even if that weren’t the case, Saheon probably would’ve noticed anyway.
That mischievous smile of his said as much.
“Don’t get jealous so easily. You’re not a kid. He was just helping.”
“I know. But I still don’t like anyone else putting their hands on you.”
That answer came so quickly it was almost as if he’d been waiting to say it.
Wookyung couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
After Wookyung’s fitting was done, Saheon also tried on his tailored clothes.
With his chiseled figure and striking features, he could easily pass for royalty from some foreign country, rather than just a celebrity.
The designer showered him with enthusiastic compliments, trying out various accessories.
The fitting took over three hours before finally wrapping up.
By the time they finished, the sky had turned a deep violet.
“Where are we going now?”
Though all they’d done was try on clothes, Wookyung felt drained and slumped into his seat.
“Dinner.”
“Sure.”
He didn’t really care where.
Saheon would likely choose somewhere above average, or if not, they could just eat something simple at home.
“Tired?”
Saheon reached over to fix Wookyung’s messy hair, his voice full of concern.
“A bit.”
“Then close your eyes on the way. I’ll wake you when we get there.”
Wherever “there” was, it couldn’t be that far—right?
Still, Wookyung didn’t object.
The moment he closed his eyes, sleep came quickly.
He had no idea how long he’d been out when a gentle hand stroking his shoulder stirred him awake.
“You’re up?”
“Yeah.”
Blinking away the last of his drowsiness, he got out of the car.
Running a hand through his hair, he looked up—and saw a brightly lit restaurant.
Surrounded by darkness, the place glowed like a movie set, almost surreal.
“Should I go in?”
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
Saheon lightly wrapped an arm around his shoulder and guided him forward.
A staff member was waiting at the entrance and gave them a respectful bow.
“Welcome. We’ve been expecting you.”
He led them inside, where a single six-person table with two chairs awaited.
The table was adorned with summer flowers, lending a bright, festive mood.
What caught Wookyung’s eye more than anything was the stage.
Musical instruments had already been set up—clearly, this wasn’t just an ordinary dinner.
“Wookyung, sit here.”
Obediently, Wookyung sat in the chair Saheon had pulled out.
Saheon took the seat next to him.
The staff said the food would be brought out shortly and disappeared.
While the dishes were being arranged, musicians settled on the stage, and soft music began to play.
After dinner, as the empty plates were cleared away, Saheon stood up.
“Can you wait a moment?”
“Uh… sure.”
Feeling a little awkward and nervous, Wookyung turned his head and looked around.
His gaze landed on one of the flower arrangements.
The same type used in their boutonnieres.
‘Did he match that on purpose too?’
Just as the thought crossed his mind, the lights dimmed.
A single spotlight came on, illuminating Saheon.
“Wow…”
So this really is happening.
Looks like I’m the only one embarrassed by this.
Dressed in a suit now, holding flowers, Saheon stood under the light, expression serious.
The staff and musicians held their places respectfully.
“You’re really handsome,” Wookyung blurted when Saheon stopped right in front of him.
“Thanks.”
Saheon smiled—picture-perfect—and then lowered himself onto one knee.
But before he could fully kneel, Wookyung jumped to his feet.
No, this was too much.
Even if no one else was watching, it would live on in his memory forever.
“Yeah, no. That’s too far. We’re not doing that.”
“Really?”
The playful smile on Saheon’s lips said he’d planned this all along.
Wookyung gave him a pointed glare, quickly grabbed his arm, and led him back to his seat.
Was it the lighting?
Or the sudden movement?
His face felt like it was burning.
“Wookyung.”
He couldn’t quite fan his face, so he rubbed the back of his neck instead.
Saheon spoke again, holding out the bouquet.
“Thank you for always being by my side.”
“…Same here.”
Now even Wookyung could feel the heat radiating from his flushed cheeks.
Feeling flustered, he looked down at the flowers—and saw two pairs of rings resting quietly within.
“Wow… what kind of movie did you even watch?”
“Why? Was it too cheesy?”
“Oh, totally.”
Wookyung pouted, pushing his lips forward in annoyance.
Even that was adorable in Saheon’s eyes.
He pulled out a ring he had hidden among the flowers.
“You know… Lately, whenever I go home alone, I feel so lonely. The sight of the dark, empty house feels so cold. And every time, I end up thinking of you. When I open my eyes in the morning, when I start my day, wind down in the evening, and even when I lie in bed.”
Wookyung looked down at Saheon’s hand, gently holding his own.
He only just noticed—Saheon’s fingers were trembling slightly.
‘So he does get nervous.’
He had always thought Saheon was the unshakable type.
“I want to share all those ordinary moments with you—for the rest of my life. So…”
Before Saheon could finish, Wookyung gave a playful grin.
“Yeah, let’s do it. Let’s get married.”
And just like that, he stole the words right out of his mouth.
Saheon’s eyes widened, then softened with a smile.
A promise of their future slipped onto his finger.
Wookyung looked down at the ring on his own hand, then met his alpha’s gaze.
He picked out the other ring from the bouquet and gently slid it onto Saheon’s longer, stronger finger.
“I love you, Choi Saheon. Marry me.”
He proposed once more, this time with firm, cheerful confidence.
