I am not a Yandere chapter 154

* * *

In the original plot of the BL novel ‘No to Obsession’, the ending was set in stone: Jihoon and Wonjin would drop out, and the main pairing, Lee Eungyeol (the bottom) and Baek Seonwoo (the top), would unite in a happy ending.

Roran quickly began typing.

[The bottom Lee Eungyeol and the top Baek Seonwoo realized their feelings for each other and fell in love.]

[System: Main character Roran cannot control characters that have begun to develop self-awareness.]

“Damn it…”

Rejected by the system, Roran reviewed the current state of ‘No to Obsession’.

As he skimmed through the events that unfolded while he had been busy escaping reality, he realized something alarming: Yeongdeok and Jihoon, who were originally at odds, had developed mutual feelings for each other.

[System: Original plot sync rate: 5%.]

If those two enemies ended up together, would the sync rate hit 0%?

Would his authorial privileges be revoked?

And if that happened…?

What would become of him?

Just as Roran’s thoughts raced, the system responded as though reading his mind.

[System: If the protagonists deviate completely from the original plot, main character Roran will lose all authorial privileges.]

[System: The story will cease to be a novel and become a separate reality, leaving main character Roran unable to return to his original world.]

“Why the hell didn’t you tell me this earlier?! This is the most important part!”

[System: (…….)]

The system had, in fact, explained this to him at the very beginning.

But Roran had been too distracted to notice.

Even after that, he never once bothered to check, too caught up in enjoying the wealth and fame that came with his role.

This was entirely his own oversight.

Roran hurriedly checked the date.

Yeongdeok and Jihoon were supposed to meet… tomorrow morning.

He had to stop them.

But how?

[System: Original plot sync rate: 5%.]

Roran stared at the message.

The system had just revealed that all the other protagonists had strayed from the original plot—except for Cha Dowon.

That meant the remaining 5% belonged solely to Dowon.

Despite all his efforts to distance himself from #PossessiveManiac and “Cha Dowon,” it seemed that while the other protagonists had all broken free, Dowon alone remained tethered to the original story.

“A way to restore everything…”

Suddenly, an idea struck Roran.

‘No to Obsession’ had been hastily written, with little depth given to anyone other than the main top, Cha Dowon.

The other top candidates and Eungyeol had lacked development, their stories patched together through Dowon’s role as the antagonist.

In other words, the structure of the hastily-written ‘No to Obsession’ relied on Dowon’s departure from the narrative to build the other characters’ stories with Eungyeol.

“If I can reset Cha Dowon, everything else will fall back into place.”

Assuming, of course, that Yeongdeok’s interactions with the others could be disregarded.

Roran selfishly latched onto the notion.

But the real challenge lay in persuading Cha Dowon, who deeply resented him, to revert to his original role.

[System: Main character Roran cannot control characters that have begun to develop self-awareness.]

While Roran couldn’t directly manipulate Dowon, there was another way.

The best way to control someone was to exploit their weaknesses.

And Cha Dowon’s biggest weakness in this situation…

“This wouldn’t have worked on the original Cha Dowon…”

Roran felt a strange mix of admiration and unease at how much Dowon had grown as a character.

Shaking his head, he shoved his emotions aside.

Now that he knew this wasn’t just a dream, he had to return to his world—no matter the cost.

On the day Jihoon and Yeongdeok were supposed to meet, Yeongdeok, who usually dressed casually, wore a crisp white dress shirt, suit pants, and even stuffed his feet into formal shoes.

When he stepped outside, he spotted Wonjin waiting for him on a motorcycle.

“Yeongdeok.”

As Wonjin greeted him, Yeongdeok approached, retrieved a helmet from the top box, and got on the rear seat.

Having ridden it once before, the series of actions felt as natural as flowing water.

“Ready to go?”

“Go ahead.”

As soon as Yeongdeok gave his curt approval, the motorcycle shot forward, cutting through the summer wind.

The air that struck his face wasn’t sharp but heavy and dense.

“After today… this will probably be the last time I get to ride with you, Yeongdeok.”

“Seems so.”

When Yeongdeok confirmed this without a hint of regret, Wonjin felt as though his heart was being attacked again.

It stung, as if pricked by a thousand tiny needles.

“Thank you for granting my request.”

“I’m the one who should be thanking you for giving me a ride.”

“…Right.”

As they sped down the road toward Daehan University, Wonjin wrestled with an urge to turn the handlebars elsewhere.

Since parting with Yeongdeok the night before, lingering regrets had clung to Wonjin’s back, dragging him into an abyss of self-loathing.

In truth, offering to give Yeongdeok a ride was a manifestation of those lingering regrets.

He couldn’t let go of a love that had ended before it could even bloom, leaving him sleepless all night.

Wonjin wasn’t naive; he knew that even if he turned the handlebars somewhere else, Yeongdeok’s destination was already set.

No matter where he dropped him off—even if it were in the middle of the ocean—Yeongdeok would ultimately find his way.

Despite knowing this, Wonjin couldn’t bear to let go.

He hid his sadness in the roar of the wind, his voice hoarse but steady.

As they entered a riverside road, a damp, fishy smell filled the air, mirroring the murky turmoil in his heart.

“Yeongdeok.”

“What is it?”

“Can I… drop the formalities and call you more casually from now on?”

Wonjin said he wanted to be friends.

But deep down, that wasn’t what he truly wanted to say.

The truth he swallowed left an ache in his chest, as if he had indigestion.

Yeongdeok recalled the days he had received help from Wonjin.

Though memories of being betrayed by him still lingered in his mind, the bitterness of those memories had significantly faded.

More than anything, Yeongdeok desperately wanted to escape this wretched novel once and for all.

To do so, he decided to let go of what had happened in the original story.

It wasn’t Wonjin’s fault—after all, it was Petitrolang who had written it that way.

“Do as you like.”

“Thanks. Then, you can call me whatever you feel comfortable with.”

“I already am.”

“Haha….”

Wonjin thought that Yeongdeok’s brusque tone made him seem like a cat.

They said once you start finding someone endearing, it’s over.

Wonjin foresaw himself being trapped in unrequited love for a long time.
