The SSS Rank Babysitter chapter 25

* * *

“Have you arrived?”

People who had arrived at the beginning of the rift were Chae Yiwon’s team, Nangdo.

Nangdo, composed of one S-rank hunter, two A-rank hunters, and a rare S-rank healer, was famous enough to be dispatched overseas.

“Oh? It’s Team Leader Jun.”

A woman with short pink hair approached, waving cheerfully.

“I’m Joo Minhyo, the team leader. I’m an S-rank healer and in charge of healing for Nangdo.”

Chae Yiwon guided Do Hajun closer to Joo Minhyo while holding his waist.

“Hello.”

“Hello.”

“Hi, Cheongmyeong! Did you have breakfast? Want some of this?”

Maybe it was something common among healers, or perhaps their personality changed upon awakening as healers, but Joo Minhyo reminded Do Hajun of Ahn Eunseon .

Lee Cheongmyeong, staring blankly at the jelly offered, turned to look at Do Hajun.

“You can eat it. Say thank you and take it.”

“Thank you.”

After bowing in thanks, Lee Cheongmyeong took the jelly from Joo Minhyo.

“Wow, so cute.”

“So cute?”

At the sudden shout, Do Hajun glared at the man who spoke.

“Oh, sorry.”

A man with short curly golden hair covered his mouth with both hands.

Chae Yiwon clicked her tongue and introduced the man.

“This is Noh Donggu. He’s an A-rank wind hunter.”

“Hi, hello.”

“Jun, what does ‘so cute’ mean?”

As the introduction caused a brief lull, Do Hajun glared at Noh Donggu again, making him squeak and hide behind a big man.

“Hello, I’m Song Jungjoo. An A-rank defense hunter.”

Do Hajun’s eyes widened at Song Jung-joo’s introduction.

Most hunters were offense-oriented, making defense hunters rare.

Seeing Do Hajun’s focused gaze, Chae Yiwon led him to where the last hunter stood.

“This is Han Yeonjoo, an S-rank telekinesis hunter.”

“Hello. We’ve met before, right?”

At Han Yeonjoo’s words, Do Hajun tilted his head.

“Have we met before?”

“…Don’t you remember?”

Do Hajun’s memory of people was always fleeting.

Seeing his expression, Han Yeonjoo smiled bitterly.

“I’ve heard about it, but you really don’t remember people well.”

“I’m sorry.”

Han Yeonjoo waved her hand dismissively.

“It’s okay. We only met briefly in a dungeon.”

Even with the hint, Do Hajun couldn’t remember.

He used to enter 3-4 dungeons a day when he was busy, so it was impossible to remember everyone he met briefly.

“How’s the rift?”

“We can enter in about four minutes.”

At Chae Yiwon’s question, Han Yeonjoo checked her Dungeon Gadget and answered.

‘That’s new.’

Chae Yiwon laughed softly at the sight of Do Hajun, who, intrigued by the Dungeon Gadget, looked at it with shining eyes.

“Would you like to see it?”

“Oh, no, I’m fine.”

“It looks interesting to you. Here, take a look. I’ll hold Cheongmyeong.”

Before Do Hajun could say that Cheongmyeong was shy, Chae Yiwon picked him up.

Though Chae Yiwon was also unmarried like Do Hajun, he held Cheongmyeong steadily.

“Oh? Oh?”

“Cheongmyeong, let’s stay here. It’s hard for Jun, right?”

Though usually shy, Cheongmyeong seemed comfortable in Chae Yiwon’s arms, eating his jelly.

Hey, why? What’s going on?

Feeling an inexplicable sense of betrayal, Do Hajun saw Chae Yiwon smile confidently as if expecting this.

“You’d better take a look now. There’s not much time left.”

Do Hajun looked at the Dungeon Gadget.

It had numerous features that his own older model didn’t have.

The app was also tracking when the crack began and indicating the likelihood of the crack having certain properties.

“Does this also track the boss’s location?”

Chae Yiwon approached swiftly.

He moved his long fingers to open the dungeon information app.

Do Hajun exclaimed as he saw the clean UI displaying detailed information about the dungeon.

“Impressive.”

Having been used to outdated Dungeon Gadgets, he was naturally amazed by the latest technology.

With such a Dungeon Gadget, gathering data wouldn’t take much time.

“It’s opening.”

Do Hajun looked up at the crack.

The dark whirlwind, massive like a typhoon, formed a calm, eye-like circle at its center.

The purple-black circle was the gate into the crack.

If they didn’t destroy the barrier stone inside the crack within 30 minutes, it would unleash monsters that could destroy the city in no time.

“Let’s go.”

As the whirlwind completely stopped, Chae Yiwon confidently walked through the glittering crack passage.

Following behind him, Do Hajun moved, and the remaining team members followed suit into the crack.

Upon stepping into the black circle, they were hit with a stench and a suffocating air.

The oppressive atmosphere made Do Hajun instinctively draw his sword.

The scene inside was hellish—black skies, barren land, mountains emitting gray smoke, and corpses crawling on the hot ground.

Ordinary people would never comprehend the appearance of the crack.

* * *

“So I was planning to break up with him?”

“Hmm. But you got dumped first.”

Song Jungjoo responded while casting a protective shield over Noh Donggu.

“Exactly! Why should I get dumped by a loser like him?!”

Noh Donggu shouted, stretching out his hand towards a charging lizard.

A sharp wind emanated from his hand, shredding the lizard to pieces.

“Well, you’re stupid.”

Healer Joo Minhyo responded, striking a wriggling lizard on the ground with his long staff.

“How am I stupid? I graduated from Korea University!”

“Technically, it’s Korea Cyber University, Donggu.”

Han Yeonjoo floated a large rock off the ground and hurled it towards the group of lizards.

When the dust cleared after a loud crash, the squashed lizards lay dead without even a scream.

“The abbreviation is the same thing!”

“No, Korea University is a proper university!”

“The school’s name is shorter!!”

At Joo Minhyo’s rebuke, Noh Donggu shouted louder.

Chae Yiwon and Do Hajun, who were at the rear, watched the bickering hunters with surprised expressions.

There was no time for talking when Delta Team attacked a dungeon.

They had to quickly defeat the swarming monsters and used their breaks to recover from fatigue.

He assumed it would be the same for other teams.

This was beyond imagination.

The team members’ skill levels were high, and Chae Yiwon’s leadership was precise.

Based on the information retrieved from the Dungeon Gadget, Chae Yiwon executed perfect strategies, including how to exploit monster weaknesses and methods to eliminate them in one go if possible.

“They’re asleep.”

Do Hajun glanced at Lee Cheongmyeong, who was nestled in Chae Yiwon’s arms.

Seeing someone else’s chest rising and falling gently with sleep felt strange.

“What do you think?”

“What do you mean?”

Chae Yiwon patted Lee Cheongmyeong’s back as he spoke.

“Nangdo was created for Team Leader Do Hajun.”

Do Hajun made a perplexed face as Chae Yiwon opened the inventory and showed him a contract.

The contract, similar to a typical hunter contract, had one prominent clause in bold.

Nangdo’s team leader is Do Hajun, and until he joins, Joo Minhyo will serve as the interim team leader.

“Unbelievable.”

Chae Yiwon laughed at the blunt remark.

“What are you thinking?”

Being scouted didn’t necessarily mean he’d join Hwarang.

Even Do Hajun had consistently declined, and he knew several overseas hunters who had also turned down Hwarang.

Yet, Chae Yiwon drafted the contract with confidence that Do Hajun would join Hwarang.

“I need Team Leader Do Hajun.”

“Why?”

“I’ll tell you the reason if you come to Hwarang.”

“Boss! Let’s move!”

At Joo Minhyo’s words, Chae Yiwon began walking.

He couldn’t understand Chae Yiwon’s thoughts.

“Oh! Is it the boss monster already?!”

“What? I’m not even warmed up yet.”

Joo Minhyo and Noh Donggu complained as they ran towards the boss monster.

Being an S-class rift, the boss was naturally S-class, but they showed no signs of tension.

“Aren’t you going to fight?”

Chae Yiwon asked Do Hajun.

“No.”

He didn’t see the need. Chae Yiwon only wanted him to enter the barrier, so there was no reason to fight.

“Then won’t Guild Leader Chae Yiwon fight?”

Chae Yiwon’s rose mist eyes sparkled as he looked at Do Hajun.

“Are you interested in me?”

“No. I’m just annoyed you’re idling.”

Chae Yiwon laughed softly and handed Lee Cheongmyeong to Do Hajun.

“I’m glad you’re interested.”

“I’m not.”

Do Hajun firmly said, patting the slightly awake and whimpering Lee Cheongmyeong’s back.

“Then I’ll go fight.”

“Yes, yes. Go ahead.”

Chae Yiwon’s body soared into the air and quickly flew towards the boss monster.

“Everyone, come back.”

Chae Yiwon arrived in front of the boss monster and withdrew Nangdo’s team members.

“Boss, are you going to fight?”

Joo Minhyo asked, and Chae Yiwon nodded.

“Oh, awesome!”

As Noh Donggu, who was marking the boss monster, retreated, the remaining team members quickly moved away from the boss and ran towards Do Hajun.

“It’s rare to see the boss fight.”

“Yeah, looks like he really wants to impress.”

Han Yeonjoo glanced at Do Hajun and said,

“Do you want to show off? Me?”

Song Jungjoo, who had just arrived last, attacked the barrier.

“Why the barrier?”

“Oh, the boss is the type who doesn’t pay attention to his surroundings.”

“Right. Whether this way or that way, he just thinks about killing monsters.”

Joo Minhyo nodded silently.

“Quiet. It’s starting now.”

The suddenly silent Nangdo team looked at Choi Yiwon.

Boss monsters, who were wandering around as if looking for hunters who had suddenly disappeared, spotted Choi Yiwon floating in the air.

Flames erupted from the mouth of the boss monster, shaped like steel.

“But Guild Master Choi Yiwon’s skills—”

Kwaaaaah!!

A lizard breathed fire where Choi Yiwon had been floating.

“You have to dodge—”

Before the fire could touch him, Choi Yiwon’s figure disappeared in an instant.

“Oh. Teleportation.”

“Do Hajun, boss is over there.”

Han Yeonjoo, seeing the eyes searching for Choi Yiwon, pointed towards the tail of the boss monster.

Unharmed, Choi Yiwon, as if taking a stroll, approached the boss monster with light steps.

“We won’t finish this in one go, will we?”

“Ah, surely not. Especially with Team Leader Do Hajun here.”

Do Hajun frowned at Joo Minhyo and Noh Donggu’s conversation.

“What does it matter to me?”

“Because the boss is trying to impress Team Leader Do Hajun by personally taking down the boss monster.”

Shrugging, Noh Donggu replied,

“The boss rarely personally hunts monsters unless absolutely necessary.”
