“I said I’ll help with your research.”

Etienne’s eyes widened again at Lucien’s unexpected declaration. His mouth fell open in shock.

‘An Alpha test subject! An Alpha test subject! Most Alphas were aristocrats, and the future seemed bleak, but this is luck!’

That alone was astonishing, but Lucien didn’t stop there and offered even more.

“Not just as a test subject. I’ll provide the funding, experimental tools, and existing research results and necessary materials that you can’t get now. I’ll provide everything.”

“Existing research results?”

“You said you needed statistical data or genealogies to verify your hypothesis, right? Unlike commoners, nobles accurately record traits and genealogies. And I can obtain the genealogy of any family in the empire if I want to.”

Each word he spoke with such confidence was incredibly alluring. His seemingly arrogant attitude made Etienne’s heart race.

His red lips curved into an enchanting smile. Just then, a refreshing scent wafted over, shaking Etienne’s mind. It was as if a halo shone behind the Alpha standing before him.

“I’ll provide everything you want. You just need to give me one thing in return.”

To Etienne, who was half in a daze, Lucien looked almost like a great deity.

“Meaningful research results. That’s all I want from you.”

A patron promising unlimited support for pure academic pursuit. That was practically a divine figure.

Etienne felt the presence of a god in this moment, something he hadn’t felt even when he was reincarnated into this new world.

He then reached out, pulling Lucien close and pressing their foreheads together before speaking again.

“I like it a lot.”

The omega’s face was flushed with a deep blush. The alpha was momentarily dizzy from the heat and sweet scent emanating from Etienne.

“I’ve been wondering where to find an alpha… I didn’t expect such a good opportunity to come along.”

Lucien managed to regain his composure and pushed Etienne away, frowning slightly.

“When I said I’d support you, I meant it literally. I’m not expecting anything in return. This kind of…”

But Etienne tilted his head as if he didn’t understand, then chuckled and moved closer to Lucien again.

He wrapped his arms around the alpha’s neck and spoke with a sly smile.

“Did you think I was trying to repay your support with my body?”

“……Wasn’t it?”

“Of course not, Your Grace.”

Etienne laughed as if he had heard a funny joke.

“You agreed to be an alpha for my experiments, right?”

Still holding Lucien’s neck with one arm, Etienne slowly moved his other hand down, running it over the alpha’s body.

The alpha’s body twitched and reacted intensely to the tantalizing touch.

“I lost one experiment today, so I thought I should at least make up for it with another.”

Etienne stroked the alpha’s defined abs through his clothes with a look of desire, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

“I have so much I want to know about alphas. So, please cooperate…”

Etienne’s whisper was a sweet temptation that no alpha could easily ignore.

“Your Grace.”

…Ah, how could such a vulgar gesture seem so pure and enchanting?

Lucien, staring blankly at Etienne, eventually smiled and reached for a pen on the desk. After fumbling for a moment, he added a note to Etienne’s research journal.

“In the case of a heat cycle induced by drugs, it cannot be completely calmed by an alpha’s pheromones.”

He added the neat handwriting beneath the messy scrawl that filled the journal. Lucien looked at the entry with satisfaction before dropping the pen with a thud.

Etienne kept burrowing into Lucien’s arms, begging to be held. Their lips met repeatedly, and hot breaths mingled.

With Etienne’s scent growing sweeter and more enticing, Lucien felt his body heat up as well.

‘This is driving me crazy…’

He wanted to take the alluring omega right then and there, to mark him all over with his scent.

But unfortunately, they were in a small room in the orphanage, not the duke’s bedroom. This cramped space was hardly suitable for an alpha and omega to tumble around in.

Lucien suppressed his desire and pushed Etienne away. When the sweet-smelling omega looked at him with longing eyes and tried to come closer again, Lucien quickly picked up the fallen cloak and wrapped it around him.

Etienne paused at the refreshing scent of the alpha on the cloak, giving Lucien a chance to scoop him up like a princess.

“This place isn’t exactly soundproof, you know.”

“And I did break the doorknob.”

Etienne finally noticed the broken doorknob lying on the floor and frowned.

Burying his face in Lucien’s neck, Etienne murmured.

“Maybe we can keep the noise down…”

The coquettish plea made Lucien chuckle. What once seemed vulgar now felt irresistibly charming.

“You’re quite confident.”

He exercised remarkable self-control, placing Etienne gently on the bed. Sitting beside him, Lucien guided the omega’s delicate hand to his own lower body.

Etienne, bewildered, widened his eyes at the solidness he felt through the fabric.

“How about it? Think you can handle it?”

His surprise quickly turned to curiosity as he looked up at Lucien.

“Wow, this is… most alphas have a sturdy build, is that why…?”

“Thinking of that even now, you’re something else.”

The scholarly yet provocative gaze made Lucien feel dizzy again. If he stayed like this, he might lose his reason to lust.

“Enough. Let’s continue this conversation when you’re clear-headed.”

“I’m already clear-headed enough…”

“Clear-headed, you say?”

Lucien’s hand slipped under Etienne’s shirt, caressing his flat stomach. The touch made Etienne squirm and let out a helpless whimper.

“Facing an alpha without any contraceptives?”

“Ah…”

A tear formed at the corner of Etienne’s eye and fell. Stroking his belly where Lucien’s hand had been, Etienne murmured in a voice tinged with moisture.

Though he seemed to agree momentarily, Etienne soon reached out to Lucien again, clinging to him. His desperate touch made it impossible for Lucien to push him away.

“But… the effects of the induced heat must be stronger than I thought.”

He clutched Lucien’s clothes with one hand, while the other touched his own belly, curling his body.

His lustful, glazed eyes peered at the alpha from beneath long lashes.

His low, mixed voice and the hazy green eyes were seductive. Saliva-covered lips, tear-streaked eyelashes, peach-blushed cheeks, and sweat-drenched hair.
