I am not a Yandere chapter 30

* * *

The terrifying drive continued.

Yeongdeok sped along as if he had no idea what a brake was, and though he drove like a maniac, he never got into an accident.

Should he be considered a good driver or a terrible one?

Exhausted, Wonjin could no longer think straight.

Only after the navigation announced they had reached the destination did Wonjin’s nightmare end.

The truck was parked in the ground-level lot, with Yeongdeok finishing his parking just shy of scraping the adjacent cars, keeping Wonjin’s heart pounding until the end.

Having achieved a temporary state of enlightenment, Wonjin staggered out of the truck, covering his mouth.

Following him out, Yeongdeok tilted his head.

“What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”

At his innocent question, Wonjin swallowed the curses rising up in his throat and managed a strained smile.

“It’s just a little nausea… I’ll make my own way back, thank you.”

“Please don’t throw up here. Wouldn’t it be better to visit the restroom first?”

Yeongdeok had no interest in watching this man perform a fountain show with his mouth.

Wonjin waved him off.

“No, it’s fine. Some fresh air will help.”

Taking a deep breath of the cold winter air, the nausea began to subside.

“Shall we head in, then?”

Once he regained composure, Wonjin led the way, with Yeongdeok following behind, his hands casually shoved into his coat pockets.

As they entered the shopping mall, Yeongdeok slowly surveyed his surroundings.

The first floor, illuminated by bright white lights, was lined with cosmetic stores and cafés.

Wonjin, keeping his eyes forward, headed straight for the elevator and checked the directory.

“It looks like the clothing stores are on the third floor.”

After pressing the elevator button, both men stepped inside and began their ascent.

Once they arrived at the third floor, they were greeted by a variety of clothing stores with distinct styles, each packed with garments of various colors.

The first store they entered, Yeongdeok immediately reached for the most garish piece of clothing—an electric purple hoodie with a pink unicorn on it.

It was the kind of outfit that no “obsessive” would ever wear.

“What do you think of this?”

Upon seeing the clothes Yeongdeok pulled out, Wonjin immediately grimaced.

“No, absolutely not. Just looking at it hurts my eyes. And a pink unicorn? Put it back, now.”

Yeongdeok didn’t like how commanding Wonjin was, but he still quietly put the clothes back.

“I think something comfortable yet neat would be better for work.”

“Hmm…”

“It might be a good idea to buy some casual clothes too, like hoodies or knits.”

“I do have a hoodie.”

Yeongdeok proudly pointed to the gray hoodie he was wearing.

Wonjin glanced at the large, odd character printed on the hoodie and shook his head.

“No, that’s a bit…”

“I even have a hot pink hoodie at home.”

“Oh, something like this might suit you well.”

Ignoring Yeongdeok’s words, Wonjin held up a simple black cardigan against Yeongdeok’s chest.

“This is nice and understated.”

“Is that so?”

Yeongdeok glanced at the cardigan Wonjin handed over with a displeased look.

Black—just like the suits Cha Dowon usually wore.

He didn’t like it.

“It’d be best to buy as many as possible. I’ll help you pick out some proper clothes today.”

With the determination to rid Yeongdeok of all the shabby outfits he had seen him in, Wonjin carefully compared different clothes, choosing them with deliberation.

While Wonjin was selecting clothes, Yeongdeok wandered around the store on his own.

A black wallet with a small rabbit wearing glasses caught his eye.

Somehow, the rabbit reminded him of Ha Wonjin.

“Director… No, Yeongdeok, could you try this on?”

Wonjin, who had approached while Yeongdeok was looking at the wallet, handed him the clothes he had picked out.

“Why do I need to go through the trouble of trying it on…?”

Even as Yeongdeok grumbled, Wonjin gently coaxed him into the fitting room.

Inside the dimly lit fitting room, Yeongdeok furrowed his brow, telling himself that all of this was to spite PetitRolang.

He reluctantly put on the black V-neck sweater and pants that Wonjin had brought.

Ha Wonjin’s sense of style wasn’t too bad.

When Yeongdeok emerged from the fitting room in clothes other than his usual suit, Wonjin’s face lit up with what seemed like pure joy.

“I knew it would suit you. You look like a university student.”

“A university student? I graduated a long time ago. That’s not a fitting description for me.”

“Could you also try this on? I think this jacket would look good on you too.”

Why does he keep making me try on so many clothes when I could just buy them?

Irritated, Yeongdeok shot a sharp look at Wonjin.

But seeing Wonjin’s eyes sparkle behind his glasses, he snatched the jacket from him and threw it on.

“It looks great on you.”

Wonjin adjusted the jacket on Yeongdeok, lightly brushing over his body.

Despite his innocent-looking face, Wonjin’s hands were large and firm.

Feeling the ticklish sensation of Wonjin’s touch through the fabric, Yeongdeok swung his shoulder sharply to shake him off.

“Don’t touch me without permission.”

“Oh. My apologies. It was unintentional.”

“I’d like to change back into my clothes. Can I take this off now?”

“No. Throw away everything you wore here today.”

“Are my clothes that bad?”

“Are you seriously asking that?”

Seeing Wonjin’s horrified reaction made Yeongdeok feel strangely satisfied.

It seemed he had picked out clothes that the obsessive maniac wouldn’t wear in a million years.

As someone who had frequently worn his bizarre character hoodie, Yeongdeok made a mental note to never throw it away but instead take it home and cherish it.

Afterward, Wonjin picked out several more outfits that he thought suited Yeongdeok.

Carrying shopping bags in both hands, Yeongdeok paid for all the clothes.

Wonjin insisted on carrying the bags, but Yeongdeok flatly ignored him.

“Thank you for taking the time today.”

“I see.”

“And, um…”

Wonjin’s eyes darted to the side nervously before he looked at Yeongdeok again with an innocent and earnest gaze.

“Could we talk for a bit? There’s something I’d like to ask.”

Yeongdeok was about to refuse, but he reminded himself that his real target for revenge was PetitRolang, and he hesitated.

Now that he thought about it, he had never had a proper conversation with Ha Wonjin.

Could messing with their relationship throw PetitRolang off balance?

Deciding that completely ignoring Wonjin might come across as too much like an ‘obsessive’, Yeongdeok nodded.

“Fine.”

“Thank you. There’s a nice café in this mall. I’ll take you there.”

“Do as you like.”

Yeongdeok gave a half-hearted response and followed Wonjin in silence.

Wonjin glanced at him nervously and swallowed hard as they walked.

They took the elevator to the top floor, where a bridge connected two buildings.

Yeongdeok followed Wonjin across the bridge and into the annex.

The main building had been crowded with people, but the annex was eerily quiet, almost serene.

As they walked, the smell of roasted coffee beans filled the air, accompanied by a sharp woman’s voice.

“What is this? Why is the coffee so bitter? Did you use cheap beans? Make it again.”

The voice sounded familiar.

As they entered the café, Yeongdeok froze in place, immediately recognizing his mother, Park Kyungsook, berating the staff.

He quickly looked at Wonjin.

“Your mother really wanted to meet you…”

“Hah.”

Yeongdeok let out a bitter laugh, realizing he had been tricked by Wonjin.
