How an Omega Villain Survive chapter 28

* * *

Henry smacked his forehead. He had intentionally let them know who William was and figured they only needed to fend off anyone who came too close, but Edwin had messed it all up.

By acting so confidently and bringing up the matter of rights, it seemed the men had mistaken Edwin for the prince.

“Those merchants are a problem too. If they’re planning a kidnapping, they should at least know what the prince looks like.”

Even though Henry knew their situation—they were so poor they couldn’t even afford to visit the information guild to learn what the prince looked like—he mumbled to himself in frustration.

Though the plan to have Edwin kidnapped in place of William had failed, Edwin was now the one in danger. William, with his six royal knights, would probably be watching and grinning.

The merchants drew their weapons and began to charge. Some surrounded the prince’s carriage to prevent anyone from approaching, while most rushed toward Edwin.

Although they didn’t intend to kill him, their faces showed determination to take some losses for a successful kidnapping.

As a result, Edwin and the three knights protecting Henry nearby were kept busy. Fearing that a sword might pierce the carriage, Sir Teher’s blade struck down the opponents’ swords without mercy.

However, the attackers outnumbered the defenders, and despite Sir Teher’s overwhelming swordsmanship, the attacks didn’t cease. The same was true for Edwin.

As the relentless attacks continued, Henry let out a series of deep sighs.

“I already told them who the prince is… I even prepared everything to get us out of here smoothly. Why did you have to mess it all up, Edwin? You usually hardly speak.”

Henry couldn’t take his eyes off Edwin even as he closed half of the window.

If Edwin got hurt in this chaos, William and his group didn’t seem inclined to rescue him; their priority appeared to be protecting the carriage.

“Hm?”

As Henry was about to fully close the window, worrying that he might get in the way, he spotted something and froze.

A woman, who had been listening to a girl’s whisper, was silently approaching Edwin.

Originally, his movements were so discreet that Henry wouldn’t have noticed, but his curiosity about the lone girl led him to spot his by chance.

Before he could even figure out the woman’s identity, Henry urgently reached out to Edwin.

He half-leaned out of the window, grabbed Edwin’s back, and yanked him toward him. Henry’s frantic actions broke Edwin’s composure.

Although he managed to deflect the man’s sword, he slightly lost his balance.

As Edwin quickly regained his footing, he shot a look at Henry as if asking what on earth he was doing. But Henry, still holding onto Edwin, shouted.

“Watch out!”

At the same time, a dagger sank into the spot where Edwin had just been standing.

If he had been even a moment slower, that dagger would have embedded itself in Edwin’s body. Edwin, shocked at how Henry had known, pushed Henry back into the carriage.

“Get inside.”

“I will. Ugh.”

As Henry tried to pull Edwin in, he ended up shoving himself awkwardly through the window, legs flailing as he struggled to get inside.

It was a comical sight, but given the perilous situation, even that was a dangerous moment.

As Edwin, who had been helping Henry, immediately turned his back on him to fend off another attacker, Henry, still halfway through the window, screamed.

“William! If you don’t help, I’ll call you by your full name!”

I’ll reveal that you’re the prince.

Whether the threat worked or not, the previously passive royal knights began to draw their swords.

While Sir Teher and Edwin’s swordsmanship was remarkable, there was a significant difference in power between two and eight people.

With six royal knights of Sir Teher’s caliber joining in, the situation quickly turned in their favor.

Meanwhile, Henry, who had finally gotten inside the carriage, caught his breath.

“I almost died.”

And what kind of humiliation would it have been to die stuck in a window?

While Henry was still trying to steady his breathing, Edwin entered the carriage.

Without a word, he knelt on one knee and reached for Henry’s clothes. Before Henry could process what was happening, Edwin lifted his shirt.

“What are you doing?”

As Henry immediately swatted Edwin’s hand away, Edwin retreated without resistance.

“What was that for?”

“Just checking if you were injured.”

“Take care of yourself.”

“I’m fine.”

Despite Henry’s aggressive question, Edwin replied indifferently. Then, he asked the question that had been on his mind throughout the fight.

“So… am I your weakness?”

“Well, something like that. I’m the weakest and most valuable person here, so it makes sense.”

“You’re shameless.”

“It’s not me who’s shameless…”

Henry grabbed Edwin’s arm.

At the same time, he noticed Edwin’s pheromones spreading faintly and saw Edwin’s brows furrow, which made Henry smirk.

“It’s you.”

This shameless guy, pretending he’s not hurt.

No matter how skilled Edwin was, protecting someone was like fighting with one hand tied.

Though he skillfully wielded his sword to keep Henry from being attacked, there was one strike he couldn’t block just before they got into the carriage.

Henry had clearly seen the blade coming, and there was no way Edwin hadn’t noticed it.

Yet, he hadn’t avoided it. Perhaps it wasn’t that he couldn’t, but that he chose not to. If Edwin had moved away, Henry would have been struck instead.

Because of that, Henry saw the sword cut into Edwin’s arm and knew he was injured. But he acted as if nothing had happened.

‘What, is he some kind of hero who can’t show pain even when he’s hurting?’

There was no such rule, so it wouldn’t hurt to show he was injured a little.

But knowing Edwin’s personality, it wasn’t simply because he thought of himself as a hero.

Ever since people stopped feeling Edwin’s pheromones, Henry had noticed his emotions gradually fading and gave up on reprimanding him further.

Still, when he saw Edwin’s face, usually as hard as stone, twist in pain, Henry felt a strange satisfaction as he pulled him closer.

“Come here and let me treat it.”

Edwin just stared at Henry without moving as he fetched a box from one side of the carriage.

Even as Henry opened the lid and took out ointment and bandages, he ignored the fact that Edwin’s gaze was fixed on him.

“Give me your arm.”

“I can do it myself.”

“Can you wrap a bandage properly with one hand? Don’t be so stubborn.”

Henry roughly grabbed Edwin’s arm. Even though the blood that had been slowly stopping started to flow again, he felt no guilt.

“If the ointment gets on your clothes, it’ll get sticky. What do you want to do?”

As Henry was about to apply the ointment, he looked up at Edwin, whose clothes were in the way. Edwin glanced at his clothes, then used his other hand to pull up his top.

In one swift movement, he took off his shirt with one arm, revealing his abs and well-defined chest. Henry instinctively held his breath, staring at Edwin’s upper body.

‘What kind of body is this…?’

He thought he wouldn’t be surprised, having seen men’s bodies all his life.

Sure, Edwin, who carried a sword around all the time, might be in better shape than most, but seeing it in person left him speechless.

There wasn’t an ounce of fat, and though his muscles weren’t overly large, they were perfectly formed, almost like a sculpture.

Everyone has certain postures or habits, and there’s usually a dominant arm that gets more developed.

But Edwin’s body was in perfect balance, without any part being overly large.

“Aren’t you going to treat it?”

“Oh, yeah. I should.”

Henry hesitated for a moment before applying the ointment to the wound.

He wiped away the drying and fresh blood with a clean cloth and then wrapped the bandage, stealing glances at the muscles in Edwin’s arms and abdomen along the way.

‘Why do I find a man’s body beautiful?’

It wasn’t just admiration.

He wondered if Edwin was even human, made by a god or something. If he hadn’t needed to treat the wound, it would have been a shame not to see it.

‘It’s not like I’m a pervert.’

Henry felt a bit ashamed for being so impressed by another man’s body, but he quickly justified it to himself.

He couldn’t help it. Anyone would feel it was a loss not to admire a body this rare. It should be on display or something.

“What are you staring at?”

“Your body.”

“…Why? There’s nothing special about it.”

“I was looking because it’s beautiful.”

Since Edwin asked, Henry answered honestly and openly admired his body.

“Beautiful…? You really are a pervert.”

“With a body like that, how can I not look? I’m just saying what’s true…”

“If you call it beautiful one more time.”

Edwin cut Henry off with a cold tone.

“I’ll stare at your body in return.”

At the threat of reciprocation, Henry reluctantly looked away.

If I had an ordinary body, I wouldn’t have bothered.

“There’s nothing to see on my body.”

“I didn’t mean I would admire it…”

“Are you saying I admired yours?”

“After staring at it like that, are you going to pretend you didn’t?”

Though Henry was full of complaints, he kept his hands busy tying the bandage neatly.

After finishing, he stepped back, and Edwin immediately put his shirt back on.

Henry moved back inside the carriage, assuming they’d return to their respective spaces now that the wound was treated.

But for some reason, Edwin remained, staring at him.

“What is it?”

“Just one question. Can you answer honestly?”

“Unless there’s a reason to lie.”

Henry subtly shifted responsibility onto Edwin’s question, indicating he might lie depending on what was asked. But he could tell Edwin was serious, sensing his pheromones weighing heavily in the air.

“What’s the real reason for this trip?”

“That’s…”

Should I lie? Or just be honest?

Henry couldn’t tell Edwin that he was after the pheromone stone to break their imprint.

But the part about answering honestly troubled him, so after a brief hesitation, Henry pushed Edwin towards the door.

He nudged him towards the carriage door, as if telling him to leave after answering this. In a casual tone, Henry brushed it off.

“To get treasure.”
