“Earth Destruction,” who supposedly was shy, slammed the table and stood up, glaring at Yeongdeok. Yeongdeok didn’t avoid her challenging stare.
“I said, are you out of your mind for liking someone like PetitRolang?”
“Don’t insult the author!”
Earth Destruction screamed in anger. As the tension between her and Yeongdeok escalated, Rose, the president, stepped in to diffuse the situation.
“Earth Destruction, please calm down. And Yeongdeok Chicken, please apologize.”
“Why should I apologize?”
Yeongdeok genuinely couldn’t understand why he should apologize.
All he did was call the author trash for carelessly killing off a character after leading readers on without any sense of direction.
“This is a BL novel cafe, and there are fans of PetitRolang here… Your comment was very inconsiderate.”
“I only spoke the truth.”
Yeongdeok’s brazen response made everyone glance at him uncomfortably. Rose sighed.
“If you don’t want to apologize, please leave.”
“What?”
“We don’t need people here who don’t respect others’ tastes.”
Rose’s words were bold and firm, despite coming from a 15-year-old girl.
Her presence was overpowering.
“I have nothing to say to PetitRolang worshippers.”
“What did you just say?”
Earth Destruction threatened, but Yeongdeok ignored her and stood up.
As he rose, he could see the expressions of those around him clearly—discomfort, anger.
Yeongdeok glanced at them briefly before leaving from booth 8.
On the bus ride home, Yeongdeok, who had spectacularly failed at making friends, reflected on the situation.
What exactly went wrong?
These thoughts lingered even when he reached home.
Feeling dissatisfied about heading straight inside, he leaned against the hallway railing and looked up at the sky.
Rose’s words echoed in his mind.
“Since this is a BL novel Cafe, and there are fans of PetitRolang here… Your comment was very inconsiderate.”
No matter how hard he thought, Yeongdeok couldn’t understand why she said that.
Consideration?
Why should he care about something like that?
As he was pondering this, a familiar figure appeared below.
Seo Jihoon was waving off his friends, telling them to leave.
They hesitated, fooling around a bit before waving goodbye and walking off.
After sending them off, Jihoon started climbing the stairs.
By the time he reached the 5th floor, he found himself face-to-face with Yeongdeok in the hallway.
“What? What are you doing out here, not going inside?”
Yeongdeok glanced at Jihoon, then at his departing friends.
“Friends?”
“Yeah. Childhood friends.”
“Childhood friends? How crude.”
Jihoon cringed at how Yeongdeok had picked out just the word “childhood” from his “childhood friends.”
“Can you not isolate just that part? It makes me feel weird.”
“You were the one who said it first.”
“Whatever. So what are you doing here? Isn’t it cold? Aren’t you going to open the shop?”
“Let’s just say the shop’s closed today.”
“Running your business on a whim, huh? You’ll go bankrupt soon. So will you leave this place once the chicken shop shuts down?”
“I just don’t feel like working today. Something feels… off.”
Yeongdeok felt a heavy weight in his chest but couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.
Jihoon, irritated, raised his eyebrows and leaned against the railing next to Yeongdeok.
“Why? Did something happen today? Did you get kicked out for being your usual shameless self at the cafe?”
“Are you a god?”
Yeongdeok blinked in surprise at how accurately Jihoon had guessed.
“It’s obvious. With your personality, I guarantee you’ll never make friends. Who could possibly tolerate you?”
“Hmm…”
Seeing Yeongdeok, who usually prided himself on irritating others, suddenly go quiet without a comeback, Jihoon, feeling strange, offered a suggestion.
“Screw it. Looks like I have no choice. Today, this hyung will be generous and play games with you all night.”
“You’re calling yourself hyung? Don’t be ridiculous. I’m five years older than you.”
“What good is your age when your social skills are stuck at five? If you don’t want to, fine.”
Don’t want to?
Yeongdeok pondered Jihoon’s words.
Playing games with this guy… Judging that it might help him get back at PetitRolang, he nodded.
“I don’t mind.”
“Then come on in. Your game console is still with me.”
Jihoon unlocked the door and opened it.
Yeongdeok felt odd seeing the door, which usually kept him out, open so easily today.
“What are you waiting for? Come in.”
“I don’t mind playing, but could you at least try the chicken I developed?”
“Screw off. If you’re going to spout that nonsense, get out.”
“It was just a suggestion.”
Yeongdeok stepped inside Jihoon’s apartment and slumped onto the sofa.
While Jihoon connected the TV and the game console, Yeongdeok’s phone buzzed with a notification.
It was a message from the cafe’s chat.
[Rose: Hello, Yeongdeok Chicken. It’s Rose. If you’re free, could we meet tomorrow for a chat?]
Yeongdeok thought for a moment before replying.
Then he grabbed the game controller Jihoon handed him.
[Alright.]
After staying up all night gaming, Yeongdeok finally fell asleep around dawn.
As soon as the sun rose, he headed out to meet Rose.
Since the meeting place was the same as yesterday, he didn’t need a map this time.
[Rose: Please come to booth 13 today.]
[Alright.]
When he arrived at the cafe, Yeongdeok pulled aside the curtain of booth 13, just as Rose had instructed.
He found her sitting at a smaller table than the day before.
Today, Rose had her white curly hair tied up high.
“Hello, Yeongdeok Chicken.”
“What do you want to talk about?”
Yeongdeok sat across from Rose and got straight to the point.
Rose, though fidgety, held his gaze with a resolute expression.
Soon, a determined voice escaped her throat.
“Please apologize to the cafe members.”
“……”
“If you sincerely apologize, they’ve said they’ll welcome you back into the group. Including Earth Destruction.”
“How generous of them.”
Yeongdeok slowly crossed his legs, recalling the conversation he’d had with Jihoon the previous night.
“I saw you sending a message earlier. Was it the person you met today?”
“Yeah. They said they wanted to talk to me one-on-one.”
“If you think you were in the wrong, just apologize. Maybe they’ll be more understanding after that.”
“Why should I…”
“Come on. Weren’t you sulking outside because things didn’t go well with them and you wanted to get along?”
“Me?”
When Yeongdeok blinked dumbly, Jihoon sighed and thumped his chest in frustration.
“How did you feel being with them? Did you have fun?”
“It was lively, not boring.”
“Doesn’t that mean you enjoyed it? You liked being with them.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about. What does enjoyment have to do with anything?”
“Screw it. I don’t even know what I’m trying to explain to you anymore. You’re the older one, right? Start acting like it.”
Jihoon had muttered as he turned back to his game.
That was the end of Yeongdeok’s recollection.
Even now, Yeongdeok still didn’t understand what Jihoon meant by “fun” or why Rose was talking about “consideration.”
That’s why he couldn’t understand why he should apologize to the members first. But one thing was certain.
The original Cha Dowon would never have mingled with these brats, let alone apologized to them first. Yeongdeok only prioritized figuring out how to ruin this trashy novel and acted accordingly.
Having made up his mind, he picked up his phone and typed into the open chatroom.
[I’m sorry about yesterday. I think I spoke too rashly. I apologize.]

Looking foward to read more
I mean I would be that author’s biggest hater too after what they wrote about him
Yes, I agree
Oh oh !
I re-read this chapter and although I understand this is “inside” the novel PetitRolang wrote I think it is hypocresy when they said that Yeongdeok should respect everybody opinions/tastes but they don’t respect his
You’re so true
The people in the cafe were so hypocritical, he should respect their opinion but they don’t respect his they didn’t even ask him why he didn’t like the author.

Honestly I think he should’ve left asap when he saw they were all highschoolers 😭😭😭 they wouldn’t be on the same wavelength in any topic… he needs people near his age or older. I think he’d really hit it off with older people
Jihoon comforting a secretly upset/disappointed Yeongdak… goddamnit theyre so cute
