Prince from another dimension becomes an Idol chapter 6

* * *

At that moment, with everyone’s attention on him, Yoo Myeongwoo spoke up.

Yoo Myeongwoo had already hidden his initial surprise and now furrowed his brows as if genuinely disappointed.

As if such things had never happened.

Even if they had, what could you do about it?

It was a brilliant contrast to the furious Sunghwan, but Dojae silently took out his phone.

“What? Did this bastard take some drugs? Has he gone mad?”

Soon, Sunghwan’s harsh voice played from Dojae’s phone.

“If you hit someone, you should apologize. Did you crack your head when you fell earlier?”

“Hey. Aren’t you worried about your mom anymore? You think you’ll stop worrying about food just because you debut tomorrow?”

Finally, Sunghwan couldn’t hold back and shouted.

“Hey, what are you trying to do?!”

After pressing the stop button, Dojae spoke again.

“This is nothing compared to the insults and threats I’ve endured over the past three years…. But even just what happened yesterday is like this. Isn’t it unreasonable to say you’re disappointed in me?”

Dojae first addressed Yoo Myeongwoo, then looked at Sunghwan.

“What am I trying to do? I’m just letting you know that if you debut, a report could go up at any time. And I have the evidence.”

“…You bastard.”

“Recording someone without their consent is illegal.”

While Sunghwan spat out curses, the rookie development team leader pointed out in a stern voice.

It was a quick move to distance himself from Dojae, sensing he wouldn’t change his mind.

‘As expected.’

If the company had prioritized morality over anything else, Kang Dojae wouldn’t have been left to suffer bullying for so long.

Both Kang Dojae and the current Dojae knew.

The company would never cut off the perpetrating members for the sake of one person.

So Dojae made up his mind.

He wouldn’t entrust his future to New Entertainment.

Even if success was guaranteed, what good would it do to debut at a company that condoned his suffering and achieve success alongside his tormentors?

Dojae was also skeptical about the future of New Entertainment, steeped in arrogance.

‘There isn’t only one path to becoming a singer.’

It might take a bit longer.

Kang Dojae made a decision last night to do something he had previously been unable to do due to lack of confidence and courage.

Leaving New Entertainment.

Becoming a singer and achieving his dream despite everything.

And succeeding more than those who tormented him.

“If my voice is recorded, it won’t be illegal. We’ll see who ends up paying for their crimes, whether it’s in court or in the court of public opinion.”

Dojae knew that for a celebrity, public judgment could be more frightening than the judgment of the law.

“Isn’t it up to the company to decide whether to debut with this group despite these risks?”

The team leader couldn’t answer Dojae’s question.

With a solemn air lingering in the practice room, Dojae left without hesitation.

***

There was nothing holding him back.

Unlike exclusive contracts for celebrities, trainee contracts could be terminated without penalty.

While promising trainees might have a priority negotiation clause to prevent them from joining other agencies, this didn’t apply to Dojae.

Dojae was waiting for the elevator after leaving the practice room when the elevator dinged and the glass door of the practice room burst open as someone rushed out.

“Wait! Stop, stop! Let me come with you!”

It was a trainee wearing a striking red cap pulled down low.

Dojae pressed the open button to keep the door from closing.

With a clattering noise, the person with the red cap managed to get into the elevator.

“You’re really cool.”

The person suddenly complimented Dojae.

Dojae frowned slightly, looking at the red cap suspiciously.

This was someone Dojae didn’t recognize at all.

“Your courage is amazing. I’m totally impressed. That’s why I followed you out.”

While Dojae was too stunned to respond, the elevator reached the first floor.

The person with the red cap followed Dojae out of the building.

“Let’s go together!”

The scorching sun beat down on their heads.

Because the person in the red cap followed him like a shadow, Dojae had to stop.

“Who are you?”

“Me? I was a trainee here too! But I only joined a month ago. I had no idea about the crap going on here until just now. I’m so glad I found out.”

“Are you saying you quit being a trainee to follow me?”

“Why not? Yeah! (English) I couldn’t stay with those bullies.”

Mixing in (a bit clumsy) English, the person in the red cap explained, surprising Dojae.

They seemed impulsive and unprepared, but in truth, this was the right decision.

Although it was a bit burdensome to know that the reason this promising New Entertainment trainee quit was him, Dojae decided to respect the red cap’s choice.

“What are you going to do now? Where will we debut?”

“What?”

Dojae asked with his mouth open.

Where to debut? He had no idea why this person was asking him that.

And why were they suddenly a “we” when they had just met?

“I just have a feeling. I trust you.”

“Trust me? What for…”

“Let’s do our best. Oh, you don’t know my name, do you? You’re Kang Dojae, right? I’m Kim Louis.”

The person in the red cap introduced themselves energetically, deciding on their own to team up.

Dojae muttered the name Louis absentmindedly.

“Louis…?”

The name sounded quite foreign.

But it was also familiar to Dojae.

‘It’s similar to a name that often comes up when learning about the imperial monarchy system of the Korean Empire.’

From the high bridge of his nose to his light brown hair and eyes, whether dyed or natural, Louis even looked mixed-race.

“Oh, but I’m not a foreigner. I’m completely Korean.”

Louis clarified, as if anticipating any misunderstanding, and Dojae nodded.

It wasn’t an important issue anyway.

As a member of the Korean Empire’s Imperial Family, it was his duty not to discriminate based on nationality, race, education, or wealth, since everyone is equal.

Dojae gathered his thoughts and took a proper look at Kim Louis in front of him.

Though a bit overwhelming, Louis’s correct moral compass and connection to a Imperial-sounding name eased Dojae’s guard.

In any case, it wouldn’t hurt to have someone by his side in this unfamiliar place.

The exotic and striking appearance was a bonus.

However, one thing bothered him.

Although Louis wasn’t being disrespectful, his friendly tone suggested he was much younger.

“How old are you?”

“What?”

“How old are you?”

“…18. Aren’t you my age? You look like it.”

Dojae looked Kim Louis up and down.

“I’m twenty.”

Dojae was particularly sensitive about age.

Louis paused, then nodded energetically.

“You’re my senior? You look so young.”

“…Do I?”

Being called young made Dojae feel unexpectedly good.

“So, senior, where are we going? Do you have a place in mind?”

Louis switched to a more respectful tone, and Dojae nodded.

Of course, he had a place to go.

Yeah. That was quite satisfying, crushing those bullies, but I doubt they’ll ever learn their lesson or even change. For sure those bystanders and higher up with their power tripping are gonna let those bullies debut and someday for sure DoJae and those bullies and gonna cross paths again and will get more arrogant. Those bullies are like cockroaches and cockroaches are quite tenacious. 😒
But I like Louis 🥰 Hope Louis and DoJae debut together 🙏🏻
