I can see what others can’t see.
I can also see what others want to see.
The ability to see what others want to see and what they don’t want to see.
Heavenly Sky Eye.
In fact, the Defense headquarters look highly at my ability, and before that, I called this ability a dog’s eye.
Just as human eyes cannot see much difference on some edited picture, my Heavenly Sky Eye could not let me choose what to see.
Sometimes I see ghost, hidden things, water temperature is distinguished by looking at colors, and even color coded emotions. In addition, most of the things I see are useless.
However, there were many disadvantages. I can’t tell the difference between the information I receive. I can’t use it recklessly because I can’t decide what to see.
When I was not proficient, there was so much information that I would received everytime I use my Heavenly Sky Eye. My brain couldn’t hold out to the point I fainted.
If my brain has 1 gigabyte of computing power per seconds, Heavenly Sky Eye’s information is equivalent to delivering hundreds of gigabytes of information within an instant, so if I use it for a long time, my brain may explode.
And seeing was the only power I could use with Heavenly Sky Eye , so I’ve never been in a battle in my previous life. I was a spy, and what I do for most of the time is just to watch.
I was a living and breathing human that provided information obtained through Heavenly Sky Eye.
I was able to see through Murim’s methods, the magic of the demons. However, knowing them did not help us win.
So on my last mission, I died.
Even if I didn’t remember how I died, I was a spy that has infiltrated in the middle of the enemy camp, so I had a predictable ending.
“Father, I repeat that it was just a fluke. I really don’t feel it!”
After all, just because I can see spirits doesn’t mean I can handle the power of the Spirits.
My father, who gradually became stiff with at my stubborn answer, sighed.
The quiet Ducal Hall suddenly began to change, as if an earthquake had occurred.
The wood vines quickly expanded and filled the surroundings tightly, and the roots that used to emit subtle light began to emit brighter light than fluorescent lights.
The surrounding air flactuated between hot and cold.
In one place, a pool of water appeared, and in the other, a mini volcano was created. Sometimes there was thunder, and even a gust of wind was powerful enough to shake my body inside a windowless room.
Under such pressure, I unconsciously activated my Heavenly Sky Eye.
Unexpectedly, when it was activated on its own, I began to see what caused it.
“Can you see it?” Father asks again.
“No, I didn’t see anything .”
I answered, trying to ignore the white Spirit that brushed my cheek.
Then my father criticized me with disapproving eyes.
“What a load of lies. Don’t hide it, my spirit are all telling otherwise. Air, Water, Earth Thunder and Fire Spirits are the Natural Spirits that controls the natural elements.”
The words didn’t catch my ears.
I stiffened with fear. The Earth Spirit, was staring at me like he wanted to eat me. Without my father, I may have been killed on the spot.
“They can’t be seen just by anyone.”
My father knew that I already know it, however, he continued with his lecture.
Maybe it’s a threat. Did my father order the Spirits to make a move on me? Was he threatening his own child?
“A Spirit can live up to thousand years. They are extremely powerful but only a handful of people can see them. How about you, son? You’ve seen so many Spirit of the earth, even though you don’t have any will! I’m sure you’ll be able to beat me in a few years, or even month. You can start contracting your own spirit because there was nothing I could teach you.”
My father talked very excitedly to the point where veins started to appear on his neck. He must have forgotten how to breathe.
Well, he’s already old, so…
“MAC!” When my father shouted, a blue wolf appeared from the giant tree.
The wolf, whose whole body’s fur and eyes were as blue as the moonlight of dawn, came to us, and even the other Spirits retreated while looking at the wolf.
Mac, whom my father called, was his main Spirit.
Did my father say that he was born in the widest lake of the Empire?
Mac was the most powerful Spirit my father has ever had and also why Libera Quilz Reinberg was called the Blue pillar of the empire.
The blue wolf slowly approached, flaunting its power.
I looked at my father anxiously.
He just cheered me up and gave me a thumbs up.
I got up from my chair and stepped back.
As the distance neared, the blue wolf moved towards me cautiously.
Smelling me as if to grasp me, his sharp eyes looked me in the face.
He was bigger than a bull, and his eyes were as scary as a Ranista.
Damn, It.
I put strength in my calves and stood in place.
Maybe this is an opportunity.
Unlike four years ago, I might succeed.
In fact, I covet the Spirit’s power. If I were as strong as our father, I didn’t have to be afraid of my other siblings anymore.
With that in mind, four years ago I tried to communicate with the Spirit as my father instructed. Although it was a disastrous ending, it might be different this time.
It was worth the try.
I gently reached out to the blue wolf who stood next to my father. Slowly and as gentle as possible.
All of my senses are concentrated on my fingertips. Mac showed interest when I reached out my hand.
He also raises his head cautiously. This is an important part, just before contacting Spirit.
Growl!
“Oh, my God!”
Suddenly, Mac showed his teeth like a rabies dog and tried to attack me.
After I took my hand out in a hurry, I fell flat.
Mac, who showed his hostility with all his might, growled and became wary of me. With an order from my father, he went back to the big tree.
He was the one who gave me an eerie look since earlier.
I was relieved of my surprise and stood up casually and said to my father.
“Haha, father. They seem to think I’m a delicious food. You did that four years ago, and you want them to eat me up again.”
“Mac was afraid of you. One more communication.”
“Oh, please stop, Dad. I think I just fell and broke my ankle. If you’re done with your business, I’ll be on my way.”
Even after seeing him just now, he looks sad as if he still has lingering feelings.
When I tried to go, my father sent all the spirits back.
“Yes, I’m sorry. Was it too early?”
Then he sat me down in a chair and continued.
“I called you because I have something to tell you.”
As I stroked my ankle, I looked up at him waiting for his next sentence.
“Son, I intend to make you my successor. The next Duke of the Rainberg family will be Cantavia Quilz Reinberg.”
What the hell is he talking about?
