I am not a Yandere chapter 126

* * *

Even against elementary school kids, Yeongdeok couldn’t hold back his competitive streak.

Quickly, he turned the wheel and rammed the boy’s car in retaliation, only for the boy to enjoy it even more, thinking it was all a game.

Foolish kid.

While Yeongdeok basked in his small victory, another crash came from behind, causing his car to vibrate wildly.

Turning around, he saw Seonwoo waving cheekily.

“Cha Yeongdeok!”

Determined to get back at him, Yeongdeok turned the wheel, but the car in front blocked his maneuver.

By then, Seonwoo had sped off, initiating a cat-and-mouse chase that ended only when their bumper car time ran out.

Seonwoo stretched his cramped limbs as he got out, remarking how fun it was.

“How was it, Cha Yeongdeok?”

“It was too cramped. My shoulders and legs are stiff.”

“But it was fun, right?”

Seonwoo, recalling how Yeongdeok had been chasing him down, thought he was pretending not to enjoy himself.

It was obvious he did.

“See? Waiting 40 minutes wasn’t a waste after all.”

“How could you say that? It was a complete waste.”

“Really? Let’s try something else then.”

Ignoring Yeongdeok’s grumbles, Seonwoo grabbed his hand again and pulled him forward.

Wandering the park in the summer heat was stuffy, and Seonwoo’s touch made it even warmer.

He tried to slip his hand away, but Seonwoo distracted him, pointing out another ride.

“Doesn’t that look fun?”

Yeongdeok’s gaze followed Seonwoo’s finger to a log flume ride where boats plunged down a fast-flowing water track, soaking the passengers.

His brow furrowed.

“Looks uncomfortable getting splashed.”

“Huh? You think it looks fun too? Then let’s go!”

“You little…”

In the end, Yeongdeok found himself being dragged once more, this time to wait for a ride Seonwoo called a flume ride.

Waiting for the bumper cars had felt long enough, but for this ride, they had to wait an agonizing two hours.

The boat sped down a steep slope from the start, causing water flowing along the track to splash everywhere.

While everyone on the ride, including Seonwoo, let out excited screams, Yeongdeok simply gripped the handle tightly, glaring into the innocent, empty air.

The slope wasn’t the end of it.

As the boat began to climb slowly once more, it stopped briefly at the top before plunging downward again.

Cold water mercilessly soaked Yeongdeok’s clothes and arms.

Drenched from head to toe, Yeongdeok stepped off the ride, shaking his head side to side to get rid of the water dripping from his hair.

“Wow, that was so refreshing! Should we go again?”

“Are you crazy?”

Yeongdeok grimaced.

His entire body was uncomfortably damp, and the thought of waiting another two hours just to get drenched by that filthy water was simply unbearable.

Seeing how much Yeongdeok disliked the idea, Seonwoo resignedly suggested, “I guess we have no choice. Let’s find another ride that Cha Yeongdeok might actually enjoy.”

Thus, Yeongdeok found himself being dragged around by Seonwoo, riding roller coasters, spinning cups, and a variety of other attractions.

By the time they were done, his wet clothes had long since dried.

As he wandered around with a deadpan expression, a shrill scream tore through the air, grabbing his attention.

Looking for the source of the noise, his gaze landed on the Gyro Drop.

The line in front of the ride was relatively short.

“What’s that?” he asked.

“That’s the Gyro Drop…,” Seonwoo replied, his tone noticeably hesitant.

Sensing the small shift in Seonwoo’s expression, Yeongdeok confidently took the lead.

“Let’s do that one next.”

“Do we really have to ride that…?”

“There aren’t many people waiting. It’s much more efficient than spending two hours in line.”

“If you’re going to ride, maybe you should go alone….”

Just as Seonwoo awkwardly tried to back out, Yeongdeok grabbed his hand.

Surprised by the unexpected touch, Seonwoo hiccupped quietly to himself.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Yeongdeok said, a smile folding his eyes into half-moons.

The smile was so unfamiliar to Seonwoo that he found himself following along, almost hypnotized.

Unlike other rides that required hours of waiting, they boarded the Gyro Drop within a few minutes.

Once Seonwoo was seated and secured by the safety bar, he was disgusted with himself for being so easily swayed just because Yeongdeok had smiled a little.

“This was a mistake… such a stupid idea,” Seonwoo muttered.

But even as he kept whispering how wrong it felt, the Gyro Drop began its steady climb upward, showing no sign of stopping.

“Cha, Cha, Cha Yeongdeok… are you okay?” Seonwoo asked, his lips trembling as he took in the dizzying view.

Yeongdeok casually admired the scenery unfolding below.

“Baek Seonwoo, from here, you can see the entire amusement park,” he remarked.

The water ride they had just gone on, the spinning cups, and even the Ferris wheel were all visible in one sweeping glance.

He urged Seonwoo to take a look, but Seonwoo only shook his head vigorously, squeezing his eyes shut.

As the Gyro Drop made a rattling noise and came to a halt at the top, Yeongdeok felt it was a shame to enjoy the view alone.

“Baek Seonwoo, you should open your—”

“Stop talking and just hold my hand,” Seonwoo interrupted, his quivering hand fumbling to grasp Yeongdeok’s.

In that instant, the Gyro Drop plunged downward, the rush of wind pressing their faces as screams erupted from every direction.

When the ride finally descended all the way down, Seonwoo sat there, blinking in a daze, as though his soul had left his body.

Before he could fully recover, the Gyro Drop started its ascent again.

“Wait… don’t tell me it’s not over yet,” Seonwoo moaned, his face crumpling.

But there was no stopping the ride, which rose with excruciating slowness, drawing out the tension like awaiting execution on a guillotine.

Once more, it paused at the top, and Yeongdeok could hear Seonwoo’s breathing, heavy and rhythmic beside him.

His own heart was pounding with a different kind of thrill.

As the Gyro Drop shot downward again, Yeongdeok felt as if the weight that had been pressing down on him, like a heavy coat, was swept away with the rushing wind.

Having discovered the exhilaration of the Gyro Drop, Yeongdeok began to pick out only the most extreme rides, coaxing Seonwoo into riding with him.

Their roles soon reversed: Seonwoo’s spirit was battered, his very soul shaken to the core by a parade of fast, high, and spinning rides.

By the time Seonwoo had suffered enough from Yeongdeok’s relentless ride suggestions, night had fallen, and the Ferris wheel had come alive with colorful lights.

“Baek Seonwoo, what do you think about riding that next?” Yeongdeok asked, pointing at an attraction that spun riders upside down and sideways while caging them in with safety bars.

Seonwoo, feeling on the brink of collapse, wondered if he’d end up as a lifeless corpse in this supposed land of childhood dreams.

“Cha Yeongdeok, it’s getting pretty late. How about we end with just the Ferris wheel?”

Checking the time, Yeongdeok realized that although it felt like they hadn’t ridden many attractions, the long waits had made the hours fly by.

“Already this late, huh? But what about the Gyro Swing instead?” Yeongdeok suggested.

“No, no way! The Ferris wheel, of course!” Seonwoo protested.

A hint of disappointment crossed Yeongdeok’s face, and though Seonwoo hesitated, he decided to prioritize his own survival.

He’d have to stay alive if he ever wanted to come back and ride the Gyro Swing—or whatever else—with Yeongdeok.
