How an Omega Villain Survive chapter 14

* * *

As the time Edwin stared at him grew longer, Henry felt as though he was being strangled. He tried pulling at his own collar, but it was a psychological pressure, so there was no relief.

Henry took a deep breath and extended his hand towards Edwin.

“Listen carefully to what I’m saying. What we talked about last time was real. I will never involve you again. To be blunt, I won’t like you from now on. I don’t have any feelings, but even if I didn’t, I’ll pretend not to.”

What a load of nonsense.

Henry tried to persuade Edwin, but he knew it sounded strange even to him. But correcting his words right now wasn’t the important part.

He just wanted Edwin to understand that he had no feelings, and that’s why he said he had none.

“Do as you please. I’m tired of trying to stop you from seeking my attention.”

Henry’s expression crumpled at Edwin’s response. What kind of ridiculous nonsense was this?

Henry glared at Edwin with an annoyed look.

Even if he said it wasn’t true, it was infuriating that Edwin wouldn’t listen.

It wasn’t entirely Edwin’s fault either; the original Henry liked Edwin and showed it so much that it was impossible to hide.

But Edwin wouldn’t acknowledge it with just one word.

“It’s all my fault.”

The fault of being in Henry’s body, helping with BL novels that weren’t even his field because of the launch, and burning himself out to cover the writer’s shortcomings while finding the setting enjoyable.

If he had ended up in a novel with no clue about its contents, things wouldn’t have gone this far. Henry forced a dry, resigned smile.

“Even if it’s really not like that, are you listening to me?”

“I won’t propose to Hena.”

“You’re not listening at all. If proposing to Hena is what’s on your mind, why tell me? Should I go and tell Hena for you?”

Henry, having given up, waved his hand dismissively.

Honestly, whether they proposed to each other or not, it wasn’t going to affect him…

“Even though I don’t like you, there’s still a basic decency. If I become your brother-in-law, I don’t want to see you suffering every time you see me.”

“Hey, this…”

This guy didn’t even bother listening to what he said.

“Propose. It’s fine if you do. Even if you marry my younger sibling and call me ‘hyung-nim,’ I don’t mind at all. I won’t be upset, and I might even encourage you to call me that more if it makes you happy. So don’t pretend to care about me, okay?”

Hena was told to choose someone she had feelings for, and now it would be nice if she ended up with Edwin.

Then Edwin would call him ‘hyung-nim,’ and he would never have a chance with him him.

“Yeah, you’d probably like it. If it were you, you’d probably be willing to break even the forbidden relationships.”

‘But that would be too noisy,’ he thought.

Edwin, not wanting to escalate things further, sorted out his thoughts on his own and passed by Henry.

It seemed like the situation wasn’t settled yet, but Henry reached out towards Edwin, who was walking away. This wasn’t right. If Edwin left like this, it would lead to a serious misunderstanding.

But before he could even call out Edwin’s name, Edwin disappeared.

Henry, looking at the empty space Edwin had left with a blank expression, withdrew his hand sadly.

“Sir Teher.”

And then he called out to Sir Teher, who had been observing the entire situation.

Sir Teher, who had been standing like a shadow, approached Henry.

“Do I also seem to like forbidden relationships, like how you perceive me?”

Henry asked Sir Teher as if seeking his opinion.

Sir Teher, unable to come up with a satisfactory answer, simply stood silently.

In the carriage on the way back, Henry tried to calm the boiling anger inside him by tearing at the useless sofa several times.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, but he couldn’t just chase after Edwin and have a physical confrontation.

It felt like returning from a pleasant outing only to be smeared with filth. No wonder Sir Teher was just glancing at Henry nervously.

As time passed and he could gradually suppress his feelings of injustice, Henry let out a long sigh.

“There’s no use in just being irritated. Let’s think. We need to find a way to show him that there’s no heart involved.”

Being away from Edwin allowed him to think more rationally. He was even able to consider things from Edwin’s perspective.

Edwin had been expressing his feelings under the guise of not being Henry, subtly seducing him and creating incidents to be together.

Henry, who only knew how to create trouble but not how to fix it, often left Edwin to deal with the fallout.

And then, when Henry said ‘not anymore,’ did Edwin just believe it?

“If I keep denying it now, he won’t believe it.”

Anyway, he had only hinted twice that he didn’t like Edwin.

Compared to that, the times Edwin had shown his feelings were countless, so insisting that Edwin should believe him didn’t seem right.

“There must be a way.”

Soon, he would go on a journey and be separated from Edwin. In that case, Henry planned to keep his distance from Edwin completely.

When he returned after a few months apart, if he treated Edwin in a businesslike manner, maybe Edwin would believe him a little.

“It would be great if we didn’t even meet after the trip.”

It seemed like just sorting out the frequent encounters with Edwin would help.

During the trip, he could ask Crown Prince William to call him separately, and once he obtained the treasure, he wouldn’t be able to return immediately to the Duke’s house anyway.

Henry counted on his fingers.

“It wouldn’t take a month to get there, but what matters is after I’ve got the treasure.”

Henry thought back to how long it took the person in the novel to absorb the treasure and nodded to himself.

“Right, if I can be distant for that long, it should work. In the meantime, I could mention to my father that Edwin should quickly find a partner. Or…”

It might be worth asking Edwin to find the man he would love for the rest of his life. The thought of that made Henry’s face darken further.

Kayla Fontecia. A prince from a small nation who calms Edwin’s pheromones. The sadness wasn’t because of the connection with Edwin, but because of what that man represented.

Kayla was the one who obtained the treasure William couldn’t find.

By chance, he got the treasure on his way to the Empire and, using the abilities gained from absorbing it, helped Edwin and became his fated lover.

Henry planned to take the treasure that person would get. He intended to change the recipient of the treasure from Edwin to himself.

“All I need to do is break this incomplete imprint. For that, I need the treasure.”

He felt sorry for Kayla, the rightful owner, but his own situation was urgent.

Even though Henry’s family was a duke’s house, the treasure was not easily obtainable.

“Anyway, once the seal is broken, it will be good for Edwin too.”

Edwin would be able to sense other people’s pheromones.

Initially, it might be difficult to control the strong pheromones, but Henry believed Edwin would manage.

“In exchange, I’ll make sure Edwin meets him quickly.”

If Henry could take the treasure and manage it well, then things could work out for the two of them.

If they could live well together, then Henry himself would also be able to live well.

As the knot in his stomach loosened, Henry’s expression improved. The thrill of putting his plans into action.

If this really worked out, he could live a happy life until he returned to his original body.

“Since I have noble status, I should enjoy it.”

Henry smiled happily.
