3:08:20 — Han Raon’s interview starts here. Begin from this point.
└ Oh, thank you~
└ ty ty
└ LOL they only marked Raon’s part
└ Even the media knows what sells — they pinned the right comment
└ Seriously funny lol
@IIlIllIlIIIlI
But who made the suppression report? What about Seo Dojin?
└ They say it was the new Guide Special Unit’s team leader.
└ Han Raon? I heard rumors he’s got a bad rep at the Center.
└ Why? Did something happen?
└ Isn’t he the only S-Class Guide in Korea? He’s pretty famous.
└ My friend works at the Center — says he’s got a nasty personality….
└ And he’s leading the special unit? Seriously?
└ Well, people with bad personalities tend to be good at their jobs….
@phoenix777
Same with the last gate — isn’t this color a first too? Is it normally this easy to suppress?
└ That’s why they started deploying Guides recently
└ Ohh, is that why they were pushing intense Guide training before?
└ ? What are you talking about?
└ There were articles about how they were grinding the Guides
└ Didn’t everyone bash them back then?
└ But look how well that paid off
└ Damn media trash, got fooled again
└ The world’s a mess but the press is still garbage haha
└ Can’t blame the media when everyone was bashing them
└ True. People are only defending it now because the results are good, let’s be honest.
@Gogogo-zix
Holy crap the suppression time was insanely fast. So cool.
└ Didn’t know 3 hours was even possible…
└ And time inside the gate passes even faster lol
└ That’s insane
@Nipong
Let’s be real — no other country could’ve taken down a Violet Gate. Agree?
└ fr lol
└ fr lolol
└ Big agree lmao
└ Your username suits you hahaha
@SUNG CHAN HYUK10105
Zero casualties this time.
└ Is that even possible?
└ That’s amazing…
└ I don’t know about his personality, but you gotta respect the team leader’s skills. Zero casualties is a first, right?
└ They smashed all previous records
@user-1110220
Honestly, I used to think Guides had it easy for the money, but I take it back… I’m sorry and thankful. Entering a gate couldn’t have been easy…
└ Same here. Unlike Espers, they’re totally normal peopleㅠㅠ
└ No way I could’ve done it;;
└ I wish I could awaken as a Guide, it’s so badass
└ The era of Espers is over lol true badassery lies with Guides!
└ Chill lol
└ But Espers still have the cool factor…
└ Seo Dojin’s screwed now, huh? lolol
“Hmm.”
Raon scanned the phone screen with a detached gaze.
The video was of an impromptu post-suppression report-slash-interview he’d given not long ago.
It had already gone viral on YouTube, surpassing 50 million views in just two days.
Well, it was the first of its kind — a globally unprecedented gate — so it made sense the whole world was paying attention.
The top comments were mostly in Korean, but as he scrolled, more English and other languages began to appear.
“Didn’t think I’d end up giving an interview.”
Clicking his tongue, Raon focused in on the comments talking about “Han Raon’s personality.”
Thankfully, he seemed to have kept a low profile back in school.
There weren’t any rumors or scandals to be found.
Given how awful his personality was, Raon had been a bit worried about potential school bullying accusations cropping up — but nothing came up, to his relief.
“He only got acknowledged by Han Myunghun after awakening as an S-Class Guide.”
Before that, he’d just been a regular citizen who happened to be well-off thanks to financial support.
Without power, he couldn’t exactly act out — even if he wanted to.
The novel hadn’t gone into detail about that part, so Raon had been nervous.
Now, though, he could breathe easier.
“Wow, Team Leader, you look amazing on camera.”
“Seriously, you could be a celebrity.”
Apparently, Yeojoon and Dasom were watching the same YouTube video.
They looked bright and cheerful.
Raon lifted his gaze from his phone to look at them.
“Did everyone get a good rest?”
“Yes, absolutely!”
“Still full of energy!”
The gate suppression hadn’t taken as long as expected, and the guide team had it relatively easy compared to the combat team.
Maybe that’s why everyone in the meeting room looked so upbeat.
Raon gave a small nod before speaking again.
“As you know, the Center and the Association have granted us a one-week vacation as a reward.”
“Wooo!”
“But since the gate hasn’t completely stabilized yet, we may be called back if something happens.”
From what Raon remembered, there were still two more gates coming up that were just as tricky as the Irregular, even before the Black Gate arc began.
It was hard to say when they’d appear, but even if they popped up soon, a one-week break should be fine.
That’s why Raon had gladly accepted the vacation.
“There won’t be any training for a while, so take this time to catch up on what you’ve been putting off. Rest well.”
“Heck yeah!”
Yeojoon jumped up and shouted excitedly.
He seemed more thrilled than anyone else.
Taehyuk, sitting nearby, clicked his tongue in embarrassment at Yeojoon’s antics.
“Um, Team Leader.”
“What is it?”
Dasom called to Raon in a small voice.
She looked a bit nervous, and Raon tilted his head curiously.
“Do I… need to leave the guide team?”
“…What?”
With her hands clasped anxiously, Dasom asked in a desperate tone.
Raon’s eyes widened as he looked down at her tearful expression.
Just yesterday, he had encouraged Dasom and Hamin to take an Esper aptitude test.
Both were confirmed as S-Class Espers.
As Raon had guessed, Dasom was an S-Class healing Esper, and Hamin was an S-Class wind Esper.
It was incredibly rare, and the Association didn’t hesitate to go public with their reawakenings.
The timing worked out perfectly — with Raon’s team being praised for suppressing the Violet Gate, public sentiment was on their side.
And now, the country had gained two more S-Class Espers — people were ecstatic.
“Why would you think that?”
“They said S-Class Espers automatically get transferred to the combat team…”
“Figures.”
The military must’ve already approached her.
S-Class healing Espers were rare worldwide, so of course they had their eyes on Dasom.
Raon furrowed his brow, visibly annoyed.
“Don’t worry. That won’t happen. Military medics are usually rear-deployed anyway.”
“Really?”
“Of course.”
Raon gave a reassuring smile.
Dasom let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank goodness. I still haven’t even processed that I reawakened… and combat team? That’s too much.”
“T-Team Leader… I’m not getting transferred either, right?”
Hamin, standing next to Dasom, asked nervously.
Raon paused a moment, then replied.
“Of course not. You both have nothing to worry about.”
“Phew…”
To be honest, Hamin wasn’t a healer, so the combat team might press harder to recruit him.
But after seeing how well his wind ability had synergized with Yeojoon and Siwoo during the last gate, Raon wasn’t eager to let him go.
Besides, even as reawakened Espers, they were still Guides.
“No way I’m letting them take you.”
Trying to snatch away the talents he had picked from the start — the nerve of the military.
Raon smiled gently on the outside, but inwardly, he was grinding his teeth.
“Now, now. We won’t be seeing each other for a while. Are we really going to just part ways like this?”
“……?”
As their conversation wrapped up, Yeojoon — clearly waiting for his cue — spoke up with a secretive tone.
Raon looked at him questioningly.
“Ta-da!”
Yeojoon pulled something out he had been hiding and held it high.
Everyone’s eyes, including Raon’s, locked onto it.
“Liquor?”
Raon raised one eyebrow.
What Yeojoon held was a pitch-black bottle.
It didn’t even have a label—definitely suspicious-looking.
“Huh? Where did you even get that?”
Minjae, who recognized it immediately, pointed at it and asked.
Raon turned toward him.
“What is it?”
“Well, um… I think it’s alcohol made specifically for Espers.”
“Esper alcohol?”
“Yes. Isn’t it?”
When Minjae asked again, Yeojoon nodded enthusiastically, clearly proud.
He then began bragging about how hard it was to get.
But Raon just couldn’t bring himself to look kindly upon Esper alcohol.
Sure, it was called alcohol, but to him, it was practically poison.
Espers didn’t get drunk from alcohol.
Their bodies recognized alcohol as a toxin and instantly neutralized it.
The higher-ranked the Esper, the stronger this detox reaction.
That’s why Esper alcohol was invented—just like guiding stimulants, it was loaded with all sorts of toxic substances meant to break through an Esper’s immunity.
Raon could never understand why anyone would even make such a thing.
“Do we really have to drink this?”
“Oh come on, when else would we get the chance? Hm?”
Yeojoon pleaded like a child.
Minjae’s eyes sparkled with curiosity too, surprisingly eager despite usually being quiet.
“Can we try it too?”
“Probably?”
Even Dasom and Hamin, who had just reawakened as Espers, looked intrigued.
Raon shook his head in disapproval but ultimately gave in.
“Well… we’re on vacation now. Just for today.”
“Woohoo!”
The team cheered when even the usually strict Raon gave his okay.
Of course, only Espers would drink the Esper alcohol.
The Guides were given regular drinks.
Raon turned to Siwoo beside him.
“You don’t drink.”
“Yes, hyung.”
Siwoo answered instantly, without hesitation.
Yeojoon, who had been passing out glasses, frowned at the response.
