I am not a Yandere chapter 119

* * *

Whether it was the time Roran visited the shop before or now, Jihoon neither accepted the harassment as normal nor sympathized with those who followed Roran’s influence.

This was impossible if Roran’s power had fully affected him.

“Just some bored people who left graffiti.”

“Let’s report it. They need to be caught for this.”

Yeongdeok thought about Jihoon’s suggestion.

If Roran was behind this, would the police even respond?

Perhaps it was pessimism, but he doubted they’d show up.

“Let it be.”

“You’re usually quick to threaten reports or lawsuits. Why hold back now?”

Yeongdeok didn’t answer.

He didn’t want to experience Roran’s supernatural influence firsthand again.

There was something unsettling about knowing that neither the law nor anything else could stand against the author’s power.

Resolving to continue preparing the ingredients, he picked up the knife once more.

But Jihoon, marching over, snatched it from his hand.

“What are you doing?”

“Your hand’s injured, so I’ll do the chopping. I’ll also clean up the graffiti outside; you do something else.”

“Not sure if I trust…”

Yeongdeok couldn’t finish.

Jihoon’s expression was one he’d never seen before—anger, maybe, or bitterness.

Feeling an intangible tug at his chest, Yeongdeok decided to leave the chopping to Jihoon, grabbing a broom instead.

But even as he swept, that strange feeling wouldn’t go away.

After Jihoon finished prepping the ingredients, he went outside with detergent and a cloth to scrub off the red graffiti.

Standing there, he could see curses he hadn’t noticed before.

He knew Yeongdeok was emotionally dry compared to others, but still… Biting his lip, Jihoon scrubbed vigorously until the graffiti faded.

By the time both the inside and outside of the store looked as if nothing had happened, it was opening time.

With a determined spirit, Jihoon encouraged Yeongdeok to push through the day.

Yet, even as time passed, no customers came into Yeongdeok’s store.

Not even during peak evening hours did a single customer appear.

It became clear to Yeongdeok that Roran was using his authorial powers to sabotage the business.

To use such incredible power just for this… he must have too much time on his hands.

Roran… As Yeongdeok sat behind the counter, staring at the empty entrance, someone finally came by.

“How was the Roran fan signing event yesterday?”

As he was deep in thought about “PetitRolang,” the mere mention of the name from Jihoon’s lips startled Yeongdeok so much that his hair stood on end.

“PetitRolang?”

“Yeah, PetitRolang. You even closed the shop to go to his fan signing. Just wanted to check if you had a good time.”

At that, Yeongdeok found himself reflecting on everything that had happened yesterday.

Since he still didn’t respond, Jihoon shifted the question.

“So… what’s your relationship with PetitRolang?”

“Why do you want to know that?”

“I was just wondering. Look, with the graffiti in the shop earlier, and now how there’s not a single customer, could it be related to PetitRolang?”

Yeongdeok was shocked.

How did Seo Jihoon figure that out?

As he blinked, trying to process this, Jihoon continued.

“The guy who came here and caused trouble the other day—he’s PetitRolang, isn’t he? I saw his face online.”

“…”

“I don’t know what’s going on between you two, but… is it possible that guy has a grudge against you and is doing this petty stuff using his fans?”

The shock in Yeongdeok’s eyes gradually faded as he registered Jihoon’s meaning.

So that’s what he thought. Well, Seo Jihoon probably didn’t even know this world was a story.

Yeongdeok let out a self-deprecating smile.

He considered something: maybe he should just reveal the truth of this world to Jihoon and the other main characters.

He hadn’t told them so far, having no guarantee they’d believe him.

But if they did, maybe they’d start questioning their purpose here and begin resisting the author, just as he had.

“Seo Jihoon.”

“Yeah?”

Yeongdeok, feeling an impulse, thought about revealing everything, from A to Z.

After all, if PetitRolang was intent on killing him, this life could end soon anyway.

Telling the main characters everything before then didn’t seem like a bad idea.

“Actually…”

But as he saw Jihoon’s attentive, serious face waiting for him to continue, Yeongdeok hesitated.

‘What nonsense would that be? Is Cha Yeongdeok out of his mind? Should he see a doctor?’

Though Jihoon didn’t actually say this, imagining him looking at him like he was insane made Yeongdeok’s words dry up.

In the past, he would have just said what was on his mind without hesitation.

Why was he hesitating now?

There was no other explanation for this change; it was just strange.

But one thing was certain—he didn’t want to have his experiences dismissed as dreams or mental illness.

“It’s nothing.”

Jihoon knew Yeongdeok wasn’t the type to call his name without reason.

Just as he was about to ask what he was going to say, the bell rang for the first time in three hours, signaling that someone had finally entered the store.

“Oh? No customers today?”

“Welcome!”

Jihoon abandoned the conversation to greet the precious first customer.

Yeongdeok watched her curiously as she entered and sat at a table.

The woman was a regular, coming to Yeongdeok’s shop since the early days.

If PetitRolang were really using his influence to disrupt business, she shouldn’t be here.

Yeongdeok felt cautious, wondering if PetitRolang had sent her with some agenda.

But she ordered, ate, and paid without any suspicious behavior.

“Thanks for the meal, boss.”

With a small smile, she handed Yeongdeok her credit card. He stared at it, almost suspecting it might explode upon touch, until Jihoon calmly took it to process the payment for her.

“We’re glad you enjoyed it.”

“Has something happened around here today? I usually remember this place being busier. Not a single person came while I ate my chicken.”

“I’m not sure…”

“Anyway, I’ll come again soon. Best of luck with the business.”

With that, she left, having simply eaten her chicken and gone without causing any fuss.

“Today’s first customer.”

“Indeed.”

Yeongdeok started clearing her table.

Jihoon thought about continuing the conversation but sensed it might be awkward to revive it.

He helped with the cleanup, feeling somewhat dissatisfied.

Throughout the day, despite PetitRolang’s interference, Yeongdeok continued with business as usual.

Yet even after a full day, his shop’s revenue hit a record low.

Only a couple of familiar regulars stopped by, leaving him with a dismal closing tally.

As he was locking up, preparing to head home, Jihoon grabbed his sleeve.

“Hyung.”

“What?”

“Want to go home together today?”

Yeongdeok noticed the concern in Jihoon’s eyes and voice.

It was clear the day’s events had weighed on him.

But Yeongdeok wasn’t bothered.

None of this was his fault; it was all due to PetitRolang.

“It’s fine. I’ll go alone.”

“Alright…”

Jihoon finally let go, and they parted ways.

In the parking lot, Yeongdeok pressed his truck’s keys, only for the headlights to flash, making him jump.

It was a sight he’d seen every day on his commute, but today it felt different.

He felt a twinge of unease but ignored it, thinking a drive might clear his head.

The next day, and the day after that, Yeongdeok persisted with his business, yet his once-popular shop remained empty.

Two hours into the day’s shift, with not a single customer in sight, Yeongdeok sat at the counter, gazing blankly into the air.

Jihoon wondered what on earth he was thinking, but he had no way to know, as Yeongdeok wasn’t one to show his emotions.

Is he really alright?

Just as Jihoon was pondering this, the shop door opened, and their first customer arrived.

“Welcome!”

Jihoon shot up to greet the guest enthusiastically, but he wasn’t exactly thrilled by who he saw.

“Jihoon, what’s with the warm welcome?”

“Why is it you?”

“Cha Yeongdeok, I’m here.”

Seonwoo waved both hands playfully as he introduced himself. Usually lively, he seemed puzzled by the empty shop.

“What’s going on? No customers today?”

“Not just today; it’s been like this for a while now,” Jihoon replied with a sigh.

Seonwoo blinked in surprise and then, noticing the somber atmosphere, his expression turned serious.

“Something happened?”

“Nothing major.”

Yeongdeok replied, setting down a cup and some water on a table.

Seonwoo, taking the hint, sat in front of him.

“Since you’re here, are you ordering something?”

Seonwoo was curious to know what had happened but held back, sensing that pressing Yeongdeok would yield nothing and might only bruise his pride.

“Then… should we go with the garlic chicken?”

After taking Seonwoo’s order, Yeongdeok slipped away into the kitchen.

Once Yeongdeok was out of sight, Seonwoo observed the scene around him and quietly asked Jihoon nearby, “What’s going on? Why are there so few customers all of a sudden… unless…?”
